I'm curious about this cat ornament. The first time he mentioned it on stream and he said his parents got him a gold cat's paw I assumed he meant golden as the color. That girl has golden hair, the golden sunlight, Kat likes golden showers. These things aren't real gold. The second time he mentioned it I swear he said they got him a cat's paw made of gold.

He has to be just dumb and spoke erroneously. There's no way they gave his cat actual gold.
If it's from QVC, I would not be surprised if Mama Burnell bought some kitschy 14 karat gold-plated ornament from some Christmas jewelry line. Every time you think of QVC loyal customer base, it's some broad buying overpriced shitty jewelry, right?

They would have got him platinum but you know, he's financially cut off.

Are we talking about one of these, image? Can't be, right? That's not a cat toy.

DSP is 37, his parents over 60? He should support them, not the other way. Fuckin pathetic manbaby.

Some of my favorite moments are when Phil lashes out at us “detractors” and how we’re all physically, emotionally, and mentally ugly people who have never produced anything of value; who are obsessed with him and have no lives; who will never amount to anything.

These comments make me feel warm and fuzzy about myself because while DSP is saying all this during his latest rant, I had just finished booking a 7-day trip to Maui at the Four Seasons for my parents as their Christmas present.

I‘m in the process of buying my own property there as well and am hoping to seal the deal before their scheduled trip so I can surprise my parents by leaving a pair of keys in their room when they get there. I want them to use it as their own property for their retirement as I won’t be able to go there that often myself.

I love my folks. They helped me become as successful as I am today by providing with the best education money could buy and by raising me in a whole andnurturing environment.

To a certain extent, Phil’s parents did that as well (I’m their own way) but Phil turned out to be... well DSP. Just an all-around ungrateful, entitled POS who believes should be successful because of his own inflated ego. He should be ashamed of what he’s become and how he talks about his parents.

IMO, Phil is lying about the majority of the things his "parents" bought. Phil's parents only seemed to suddenly step up their spending roughly around this year. I think they're just a screen to try and fill the giant hole in Phil's narrative of how he desperately needs X amount of money and can't even afford to buy games, yet he constantly ends up with all these other expensive items, even though all of his money is going towards his bills that he has to pay every for the 32nd time that month. A lot of the things that his "parents" are buying for him are pretty similar to the stupid items we've seen Phil purchase in the past. And why would his parents suddenly help out now but not any of the other times in the last few years, before he was in the worst financial situation of his life. And let's be real, even if Phil was genuinely struggling financially to the point he needed to turn to his parents money for help, we all know that wouldn't stop him from buying things like ornaments and ordering food for the holidays instead of cooking, since he can't find any Italian sauce based Thanksgiving/Christmas recipes.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the expenses he claims covered by his parents are legit. I could see him only agreeing to fly out to his parents if they paid, or them covering the costs as part of the wedding. Maybe they even gave him a big monetary wedding gift which he's claiming he used for taxes, because in Phil's world, he only spends money on bills and taxes.

The other possibility is Phil is still lying, but the lies are about how much support he was getting from his parents in the past, with them contributing a lot more than we knew and Phil only just now mentioning it. The reason I'm not inclined to go this route is we know how much Phil makes, so it seems much more likely he wants to humble brag/overshare about whatever purchases he's making, but he wants to mask how much money he's had/push away criticism when people ask why he's buying X while crying poor and insisting he can't even buy games to play and is consistently overdrawn on his bank account. He's also done a similar thing in the past by insisting some of his bigger purchases were actually donated anonymously from his fans. Though just for the sake of argument, if we go that he was lying about how much support he gets from his parents, those past examples could have theoretically been them.

Lol. You can beat that whole game in two hours. It amazes me how much trouble he has with these old platformers.
the world record for 96 exit (which is all the exits) in SMW is UNDER 2 hours
where is phil in game? if he's having a shit load of trouble before world 6 then he is pathetic as fuck

dave tries so hard to make sure strangers on the internet think he has a "normal life", and his ego is so huge, a near 40yr old man trying to impress ppl on the internet, evident by him treating super turbo like his evo tournament

I can't help but think he's lying to his parents about what he is using their money for, which is why we saw an increase in random qvc items

my only other autistic theory, is khet ordering all this shit from qvc / amazon (exercise bike, air fryer, etc), and he has noone to vent to about it, and god forbid anyone know he married a depressed, jobless housewife, better yet, she's probably spending his money too, so as a cover story, he tells his audience " my parents", (not khet), are buying all these things, to protect his "being poor" narrative, and to protect his "family"

it's so easy for dave to lie, he knows khet doesn't watch, and his parents don't watch, so there's noone to hold him accountable for his lies, and he probably keeps his office door shut while khet is home cause he doesn't want her to hear him lying

even at my lowest, fired from my job, my gf and kids (actual family, not a cat) left when I told her I was going to prison for armed burglary which I did to support my drug addiction, I couldn't ask my parents for help, I don't know how dave constantly expects his parents and wheelchairs just to constantly bail him out

Imagine being a 30 something year old man and relying on your parents to pay for these basic expenses like pet insurance. I get it, people fall on hard times, but that's not what is going on here. It's DSP blatently overspending and screwing himself with bad financial decisions. He's saying that he's so broke that he cannot even afford a lot of games, the basic tools for his "business" yet he buys a fucking cat.

I feel bad for his parents. Maybe they feel like they have to support him because they spawned him, but he's never going to learn anything.

As a wise man once said:-

"There's no way - NO WAY - that you coulda come from ma loins"

Pertinent info is at 1:38

There are other examples of Phil's parents buying him expensive crap.

April 2012. Phil's parents gave him a new stove top and ceiling fan for his birthday. They were going to hire an electrician to install it for him. Their guy was booked and couldn't do it when Phil wanted him to. Phil doesn't have time to hire some one. The grateful son he is, he says since it was his birthday his parents need to take care of it for him.

Holy shit. He's literally been asking for money due to "crisis" all year.

Edit: I mean, this isn't news exactly, but seeing it laid out like this is just...something.

He was telling the truth the entire time, from a certain point of view....

In 2018 Phil's parents allegedly:
  • Paid a couple thousand for the Darksyde wedding. Two round trip plane tickets, hotel for a few nights, rental car, meals, and fun money for Phil and Kat to go to the arcade, zoo, and get snacks.
  • $5000 for 2018 taxes
  • $??? for an exercise bike for Kat
  • Halloween decorations including an $80 plastic light up skull
  • A full QVC thanksgiving dinner spread
  • Two humidifiers
  • Cat toys for Jasper
  • A QVC glazed ham for Christmas dinner
  • An air fryer and a cook book
  • A Christmas ornament shaped as a cake with Phil and Kat's wedding date
  • A gold cat's paw ornament for Jasper

2019, and yes.

He erased his own save file and blamed the publisher of the game for it! I'm going to vote for him as the lolcow of the year in 2020's Mooby awards now, unless Amber Reid dies before New Years, so she's got a week and a half to steal my vote from him.

DSP's mom is addicted to home shopping. I can't make anything else of it.

And whenever he says 'my parents' bought him/them something, he actually means 'my mom'. Sounds like she's sitting at home most of the day, watching home shopping channels and buying things she can get a 'great deal' on. Sounds familiar..?

- sit at home, looking at a television screen
- spend money on frivolous crap

Yeah, I think I have a hunch who DSP got his special traits from...

I don't know if it's the lighting, that he hasn't shaved, the awful frame it ends on, the way he closes his eyes for four seconds then shakes his head in a "My mom actually watches that shit and buys me things, can you believe it" sort of way, or just that I've not noticed these things in other clips, but something about this one seems exceptionally repulsive to me right now.

The quartering guy is a detractor, confirmed!

Question for people knowledgeable about fighting games...

Do DSP's criticisms regarding the newer Street Fighter games hold any merit? He constantly says that the newer versions involve more guessing and less skill, and I believe he says that some things have no counter unless the enemy makes a mistake.

I don't know shit about fighting games, and he should be someone who knows what he's talking about when the subject is SF, but to me it seems like he's just trying to say that the version he was good at is the only one that is objectively good.
