Inactive Elliot Rodger - The Supreme Gentleman

From what I've heard of him, he had two main things stopping him from getting laid:

A passive approach. He expected girls to approach him and do the work, get to know him. He probably had a few girls interested in him, but he never pursued them. Possibly this is linked to the intense need for approval he displayed. His ego perhaps required they approach him, because it would be more flattering. You seek a prize, the prize doesn't seek you out.

Second was the fantasy aspect and unreasonable standards. He specifically wanted a good looking blonde girl. I think this was driven more by an urge to attain status, to have a "trophy" than just a genuine preference, because it seems in the rich California culture blonde girls have a kind of status to them.

he also never bought a mail order bride

Well, y'know, that and the fact that he was uncharismatic, looked and acted creepy and would lash out at people with no provocation.

usually narcissists and psychopaths are unusually charming and extraverted. If someone is too suave, I distrust them immediately. I'm usually right, because a few months later girls I know who thought they were brilliant will report how they were found stealing from the till, bullying other employees, engaging in political power games, stealing tips, etc. In the context of my job in a restaurant, that is. Nowadays I'm not forced to associate with such people.

Of course, it turns out also that they were sleeping with 5 different girls there.

And Rodgers was clearly neither. In his videos and journals, it's clear that he's an uncharismatic creep who finds it physically impossible to even pretend to be normal.

And while scummy, I doubt those women were psychopaths, that sounds like an overreaction. Also, you've never seen men act that way either? Only women?

This is actually wrong though. The charming high IQ psychopath is actually an incredibly rare archetype found in very few people (Ted Bundy) the majority of psychopaths are low functioning and usually end up incarcerated for petty crimes, ie Holden.

What? I never said they were women. They were male, and the women usually loved them, is what I said.

are you implying that @mooooo's fat mail order bride might be a ladyboy?!

Are you still doing this? It might have been funny if there was anything at all to imply she could have been a mail order bride, but as it is it's a bit like saying she's a purple dinosaur. A bit silly, but a joke has to have some element of truth or potential validity in it to be funny.

so you are agreeing she is disgustingly fat?

I see, I misinterpreted that sentence. Never mind.

Is it possible to keep the whining about not getting laid quarantined to the Loveshy thread?

You're probably right, we can still talk about Rodgers there, since he was a Loveshy. Besides, @mooooo, we still have questions for you, which would be better suited for the Loveshy thread. For example, do you agree with Dante that women want to be raped?

I never said it was correlated with high IQ. Extraversion itself is slightly correlated with low IQ, and many people who are good at emotional manipulation have low IQs.

Psychopathy is correlated with superficial charm. You're right that this does not necessarily mean the majority of psychopaths are charming, but that's irrelevant. What is important is that a greater proportion of charming people are psychopathic than the normal population, hence overt charm is to be distrusted.

But how is that relevant to Rodgers? As we've established, he wasn't overly charming, he was quite the opposite. He may have thought he was charming, but well, reality paints a different picture.

Third was that he was a soulless, dead-eyed psycho who creeped people out. Just like other Loveshies.

yeah, that's why I mentioned it. It's a little unusual. I need to do more study to work out if he was really psychopathic and/or narcissistic, and how that fits with normal symptoms and traits.

Can you link me to a peer reviewed study that conclusively links being charming and personable with anti social personality traits? If not you're talking out of your ass and desperately trying to find excuses for your own failures with women.

but if I was trying to find such excuses, then wouldn't my excuse essentially be "I am not charming or extraverted"? How is that an excuse? That's your own stereotype, if anything I would just end up agreeing with you.

Try to keep things logically coherent, please.

He murdered people because he thought that he was entitled to sex. Pretty fair to say that he was psychopathic.
