I was sooo hype for this game like two years ago and then the beta came out and I played the shit out of it and I dont know if I can even get back into it.
One can only wait until the devs implement more quest. Really, most of them were fetch quest, save for one where I actually had to get a ticket via playing an arcade game. Not as annoying as travelling to a random planet and hoping it had an Avian tomb with a golden ducky or a USMC prison with a sign I need. The main quest sort of missions pretty much consist of either a boss fight or fighting a bunch of enemies before reaching said boss fight.

Since the upbeat giraffe beta phase started it's an almost entirely different game.
Indeed, it does feel different. They revamped the bosses, changing Dreadwing and Fatal Circuit while removing the bone dragon, the sectors are gone and replaced with different planet systems. The asteroid fields are devoid of monsters and ore, left to be made into a sort of base for the player to make. It really felt like a different experience for me when I tried to get back in. I mean, to leave the first planet, you have to go into the core of the starter planet. Not to mention, they also removed one of the hairstyles I usually pick for the human I play as.

The last time i tried to play again, the guns were shitty, the enemies were overpowered and annoying, and there were no quests.

Yeah, they managed to revamp combat. Guns feel more useful, enemies aren't as overpowered, and the armors are now tiered in regards to the high end sets. Now you have armor sets that focus on strength, energy, and a blanace between the two.

Ok cool.
My friends will tell you I was talking about that game like 3 years before the beta was opened.
I would be lieing if i said I wasn't a little disappointed, but it sounds like they might be revisiting the core ideals, which would be nice.

I used to host a server for /v/ when this game came out. I hope it's more stable now.

I tried playing recently but I kept dying in the ttorial because the controls suk. I'll play again if y'all are down for it.

I love this game, I picked it up again recently and was pleased by the amount of progress that had been made. I finished the questline, though it got a bit scavenger hunt-y at the end and I still want to play it more, so I've been sort of messing around with admin mode and making my ship look nice while also exploring and replaying the quests and boss fights without admin mode.

Considering that you finished the questline, do you know the coordinates for a planet that sells oranges? I read that they are sold in many villages but I've yet to seen Floran, Glitch, Apex, or Avian villages selling that sort of fruit.

*Edit: Nevermind, I found out the Terramart in the Outpost sells them. Still, one may as well ask if they got any coordinates to share.

I was confused but then I read the quest description carefully and it says "Can you find me something round and colorful *around here* to replace it?" and I appreciated the subtlety then went to terra-mart and bought an orange.

I've got some cool cosmetic items and a few spare blueprints for my fellow Kiwis :) Next time we play I can trade stuff. Don't ask me right now cause idk what I would want. lol

Here's a pic of my single player house I'm building

I still need to find a nice planet for myself, I had a nice iceplanet with an aurora but I then moved and lost it.

Considering the nice stuff, I wouldn't mind trying to find you in-game and hoping for a trade. You wouldn't mind having any impervium would you? I got some to share.

High-end material to make the best defensive armor and offensive weapon. I'll refrain from that if you don't want to be OP. I do only have a handful of plutonium and I will say that can be worth trading since 1) it's necessary for a ship upgrade and 2) it's not easy to find on the moons.

I hope eventually you can sort of bookmark planets or have a sort of history of all of your planets you jumped to, not necessarily in a way that you can always Teleport to them, but at least in a way that you can make your way back to them when you'd like to, I remember spending hours trying to find a planet I was on that had an avian tomb because I needed a golden ducky for a quest and I ended up stealing one from a grounded's house in a village because I just came across that first. I felt kind of bad in that context that you feel bad as a character in a game since I was playing an Avian and so the Grounded are sort of like your bros if you're an avian.

EDIT: I just realized that a lot of quests that aren't the major scenarios are essentially asking you to steal items for people at the outpost because they want a thing and there's not really another way to get it in the game.
