Personally, I think it's about jerking off rather than just displacing women. The transwomen who insist on using the women's bathroom often get boners when they're allowed in women's spaces (autogynephilia), get boners being near women with their pants off, get boners sniffing poopoo/peepee/tampons or get boners making women uncomfortable. There are some who might genuinely not feel safe in the men's room and I'm sure many just want to pee, but using the women's room is just taking advantage of the fact that most women are too polite to tell them to gtfo.

Men are playing this game to win. Women are playing to not lose. It's fairly obvious that men don't need access to women's restrooms, so as it stands this is a group of men trying to take what they want (not need) from women. In a sense dominating/displacing is secondary, but that effect of successfully taking what belongs to others for themselves/'winning' their battle for women's restroom access is certainly appealing as well. The reality of this just gets drowned out when men bellow about how they "just need to friggin pee!!!!"
Why they want it so badly... I suspect a not insignificant portion of this is specifically because there is pushback. Many seem to glory in rubbing it in that look, I took this selfie in a bathroom and scared a terf! They probably wouldn't find it nearly so appealing if nobody cared.

Lots can happen in a bathroom and there are plenty of perverts waiting for a chance to creep on others. Men might not think much about sexual predators but women are physically weaker and can't fight them as easily so they can't be blamed for wanting their own private places.

Ok another personal anecdote ... keep in mind that I am kind of older so these incidents span over 3 decades.
This has happened more than once though, but this is the least personal to me.
I am at a fast food chain restaurant called "Miami Subs" in a college town several years ago. I am a white girl, attending graduate school there. As I kept late hours, I ducked into this joint, for a late-night snack and a date with the soda fountain. I am chatting with the employees as they are closing for the night.
Suddenly I begin to feel the effects of a supersized, bottomless coke, and I go to use the bathroom on my way out.
I open the door to the ladies room, and I smell something that makes the hair on the back of my neck bristle. I shut the door immediately. I then open it again, and there are two athletically built black men, sitting on both toilets with their legs spread apart and the stall doors open. 2/2 stalls occupied. I hear this snicker.
I gasp and I slam the door shut and I go and growl/yell at the people I had just been talking to. They did not know why these two men were in the women's bathroom and then the black manager comes out from the kitchen and said that he allowed them to take a shit there.
I yell-growled at him, asking why they can't use the men's room and he said because it only has one stall. I said "can't they fucking take turns, like the rest of the world? Dammit I gotta fuckin pee, everything is closing and I gotta get home, get these fuckin dudes out of the ladies room, asshole."
He said "go now" --- When I went back, they were gone.
You tell me .....

I think there are people with bodily sex dysphoria, people with fetishes (not all of who are evil, sex is basically a bunch of fetishes combined,) and people who want to act like the opposite sex for social reasons. That being said, you can't currently change your sex medically, so as long as people acknowledge that and don't act like trainwreck dingbats in other gender-related areas (like being a bearded dude declaring himself a lesbian and demanding to sleep with lesbians using the transphobia card,) they're probably fine. If people pass the bar of not being obviously delusional I'll consider them trans even if they're assholes because biology really isn't as deterministic or clear-cut as people think, but all the cosmetic surgery hype and politicization is horrifying. Also, it's pretty obvious why crazy people would declare themselves trans like it's pretty obvious why middle class moms would declare their problem child gifted: people need excuses. That doesn't make trans or high IQ people nonexistent.

Well, some men (not trannies in the cases i've witnessed) apparently 'get off' by shitting in women's bathrooms.
It seems to be some form of dominance act for them? I honestly can't tell you what it is exactly.
I wish I was joking. But I've witnessed a few instances of this, let me give you two examples.
Dude at a workplace always used the women's only room to take a shit, even tho, literally one floor below him, was a male bathroom. And he didn't didn't just take a shit there, no. He never flushed properly or cleaned up after him.
So of course the women were complaining to the higher ups since this was kinda their space. They even said they wouldn't mind him using the bathroom per se if he just fucking cleaned up after himself.
Since the dude was irreplaceable to the company, they just changed the toilet from female to male and now those ladies have to walk to the downstairs bathroom. Fun.
Another instance was something I've read on reddit ages ago, that's why I can't quote the thread. A bunch of friends rented a cabin and one guy insisted on shitting in the girl's bathroom only (of course also not cleaning up after himself) and found it hilarious when they told him that he's a jerk for doing it.
And if you dig around on Incel boards you'll also find a ton of guys who think ruining women's bathrooms is fun and leaving turds on toilet seats 'will show them'.
It's absolutely stupid imo.

There was a a detransitioner in the tranny sideshow thread who chopped off one of his nuts on a whim. There are definitely people who will mutilate themselves for no good reason.

I don't see any practical way to sort the wheat from the chaff. The bottom line is trans people need to build their own fucking spaces/sports whatever else. Bathrooms need to be single occupant, changing rooms; same thing.
When you pay attention it becomes very obvious that the vast majority of these people are seriously disturbed, they may not all be dangerous but you can be damn sure some of them are. Without dicks they are likely to be more pissed off, not less.

I don't think the bathroom is THAT big of a deal, because people can always pass. Remember Rose McGowan's girlfriend? She totally looked like a man, and I don't think she was even trans. And as seen it's not like it stops pervs from going in bathrooms to screw with people. (Little BOYS are still in danger in the mens' room)
Sports is the area that really concerns me. Otherwise, I don't give a shit, but the whole, "oh, it's no big deal", no. At the very LEAST, there needs to be a lot more study done. There IS a great difference, like it or not, or we wouldn't HAVE separate mens' and womens' leagues and competitions.

As a guy, I'm not one bit worried about trans men in my bathrooms. I am overwhelmingly concerned about the women I love having to share them with AGP nut jobs. I don't even think that the people who pass and live as women need to be part of the discussion. They have alsways existed using the bathroom they choose to and nobody even noticed.
I agree that sports is a really concerning area, however I disagree that more study needs to be done. I think the science is pretty much settled on this one.

If they can fly under the radar and want to chance it, I'm not going to say anything to them as long as they are just there to pee and/or fix their makeup like the rest of us. But, I still don't think it should be legal for them to be there. Because there is no way to weed out only the "bad" trans and to write a law that will let certain "good" troons in and not others, so the law has to be written to reflect biology rather than behavior.
And yes, Rhys has been snipped and it makes no difference to me whatsoever. He is still a man and will always be a man.

I agree, and it's their own damn fault for pushing the point when (if common sense prevails) there is legislation passed that prohibits them from using the bathroom they so badly want in. These LGBT organizations should have been reeling the nutjobs in to protect the "stealth" trans people's rights to use the same bathrooms they may very well have been using for years unnoticed but instead, they decided to make an industry out of amplifying it.

Well, some men do "pass" usually because they act enough like women, they don't have facial hair, they are quiet and discreet .... much like the women who use the bathrooms. They don't stand to urinate, and they don't smell like musky dicks and balls (sorry guys, we love you, but some of you are quite pheromone-infused).
You can pass laws forbidding males in women's bathrooms, and they would only enforcable if the person is obviously male, lingering and making a scene.
In California, women can legally use the men's room. Tempting, if the line is backed up in the ladies. However, as a non-sociopath, with an in-built sense of shame, my concern with doing that is that that behavior in other contexts can be rightfully construed as sexual harassment.
The lady or gentleman who posted about the guy who would shit-up the ladies room, in normal contexts that is absolutely sexual harassment in the workplace, but somehow this fellow was immune to such action. (It happens, different topic though.)

I should've quoted "pass" as well. I don't think many (any?) of these men pass as women under any sort of scrutiny. People are fairly polite and have enough tact to not question whether an ugly "women" in the bathroom should be there so long as they are not acting like a fucking weirdo.
That's what I find is unfortunate for this tiny subsection of the current trans population just trying to be themselves. Probably most of us could scrounge up some sympathy for them. I mean even if they were to go to their LGBT leaders and say that this is not what they want, their population is so small that nobody will even listen to them. These AGP men have stolen their voices as well.
