Excuse my one word response in shock Mr. Admin, but;
Story?
lol no it isn’t
I responded to your statement of opinion with mine. I also posted at length what i feel works about the writing and what posters have been getting wrong about it. I’ve been contributing. And yes, I’ve also been fucking around with the ones who’ve been frothing at the mouth at me since I dared say I liked the show independent of its creator and whatever the fuck is wrong with him. We’re Kiwis, it’s what we do. Everyone’s angry and nobody’s laughing. Thread was in bad shape long before I got here.If you're not going to contribute anything to the thread that isn't a "NO U," you're cruising for a threadban, bucko.

I like weird eldrich creature designs. I like horror in general and the show scratches that itch well enough that I want to see where it’s going. Granted, that’s before I realized the shit in the show might be representative of one or more fetishes and the philosophy might reflect the author’s, but again, I approached the show not knowing any of that. I don’t love the show by any means, but I do like it, and it’s weird and disturbing enough to keep me interested, regardless of authorial intent so far.However, I am curious as to what actually drew you to his work.
I get that, but I guess I don’t understand why it’s not also extremely funny, to the point that it overrides anger. Like I find the screengrabs on the first page hilarious.nobody likes a self-important know-it-all who thinks he's a genius and looks down on other people for not getting his DEEP ART.

They're not weird eldritch creatures, they're a fetish.I like weird eldrich creature designs
If you look at the datbase he set up it’s pretty expansive, mostly before their world got blowed up, but I think he did a good job of cooking up a race and reality that’s genuinelly alien to our own, and yeah, I think he deserves props for that much. It’s a little edgelord, yeah, but even that’s kind of counterbalanced by the fact that their violent, uncaring culture is what ultimately destroyed them, which I thought was the point the story was building too. Not so sure now.what about the lore do you think is interesting?
They don’t give me a hard-on so to me they’re weird eldrich creatures.They're not weird eldritch creatures, they're a fetish.

Anything could benefit from more titties tbhYou're right, they need way more titties.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but that is the scale I grade it on. That’s what I mean when I say I think it’s good for what it is.a hobbyist.
Learn to archive bro.Because I'm starting to get his shit in my recommended list now. I fucking hate you people.
I'm a newfag. Leave me alone.Learn to archive bro.
I can agree with this. Mostly it's Sam's arrogance with his animation that bugs me. He seems to genuinely believe that he has nothing he need to learn about art/animation. The idea that others have studied animation, spent years and decades perfecting their craft, and then converged upon a set of guidelines and best practices that they've distilled into rules like the Twelve Principles of Animation, seems to not compute with Sam for whatever reason. No, Sam's convinced that it's all just a bullshit racket perpetuated by Disney and friends to keep animators like him down.I forgot to mention this earlier, but that is the scale I grade it on. Actually, you raise a good point. I've been making sure to rip his channel videos, so I've got local copies of everything. But did we want to be actually archiving them online somewhere, e.g. bitchute, perhaps?Learn to archive bro.
Can't we use a MEGA?Actually, you raise a good point. I've been making sure to rip his channel videos, so I've got local copies of everything. But did we want to be actually archiving them online somewhere, e.g. bitchute, perhaps?
I'm on the same boat as @Yotsubaaa on this. Having artwork comissioned can cost up to 50 USD if you want something good. Hell his girlfriend does comissioned work so she should know about that field. Except I imagine she's more an enabler to his bob-eyed ego and wouldn't tell him to calm down for a second. If he held himself as someone who was doing it as a hobby I'd be less critical of his work and he probably wouldn't have a thread.I forgot to mention this earlier, but that is the scale I grade it on. Man, you know what bugs me about 3D software today? They've invested so much into certain gimmicks like hair texture and post-processing for still shots that a person can somehow make rabbit fur look totally natural with built-in tools while completely fucking up the texturing of so much else. It's like the default settings encourage people to jump into the uncanny valley.I can agree with this. Mostly it's Sam's arrogance with his animation that bugs me. Also, here's another screengrab from his Youtube Community tab that I thought was relevant here:

For the record, I would do CGI commissions where I make peoples characters and animate them... but based on what other artists charge for drawings, I’d eithe...www.youtube.com
Now I'm not an animator or involved in the whole art/commission scene, so people can correct me if I'm wrong here. But it seemed like a particularly haughty take. Wouldn't the monetary value of your skill be determined by how much someone is willing to pay you for it, like with every other professional endeavor in life? You don't get to decide that for yourself preemptively. This "people couldn't possibly afford my awesome work!" idea is part of what bugs me about Sam's attitude in all this.
