While part of what you say may be true. I see it more as the ultimate blue pill for (lack of a better term) beta males.

If your in Cosmos place, you are failing in many areas men are supposed to thrive (getting a mate, making money and beating other males). However this is stressful and can have a knock on affect that will make men shrivel up if they fail in the dominance hierarchy.

So how do you get a mate, make money and not have to fight for it? Become a hot anime babe. That way, love will come to you, a strong man will come and take you in, love you and pay all your bills.

Unfortunately most troons think HRT is magic and will make them hawt ladyboys where in reality it makes you look like... well Narcissa...

That and HRT won’t fix all the problems that made you drop out of the male dominance hierarchy (laziness, poor moral character and a life of chaos) and will compound your issues when your dick and liver stops working

So now even his one real claim to fame is gone. Ouch. I'm kind of interested if he'd be able to reclaim it; like an alternate universe where he didn't completely fall apart and had a steady life (girlfriend, actual job) and still did speedrunning streaming as a side hobby to make extra cash.

It's not entirely gone, speedrun communities don't forget about past records because they're still proof of what all it took to reach the current best time. It just goes to show it wasn't necessarily all over when he got WR and it wasn't his unmovable Magnum Opus that meant he could retire forever.

I think there is a mental strain put into speed runs since you have to execute some moves perfectly, be precise in timing, and in the whole you have to be a perfectionist. Going for perfect in my experience really wrecks you when you fail. That's why there's a saying that perfection is the enemy of good. You put in all those effort but you have diminishing returns. You hold on too long instead of moving on to better things.

You speak as if what he was "perfecting" was the next statue of David. He was just a guy who beat a video game really fast. It's not an achievement one should capstone their life on. It's not like being the first person to climb El Capitan without a rope like Alex Honnold.

While I do agree with you, I feel the need to point out that anime, vidya, and trooning out are all these geeks have. Their autism compounds this exponentially. I can absolutely see kids without any perspective or broader world experience having a mental breakdown over video games. It's pathetic, but I think it's reality. It seems like Cosmo's life before trooning out was playing vidya and then eventually doing drugs before getting cheated on by his gf.

He emigrated from Trinidad specifically because it's still pretty backwards for lgbt rights (he's gay iirc) and as of last year shared a tiny house in Spain with a lot of other family members. He broke a ton of Super Mario 64 records and got severely burned out as a result, routinely chokes when he hits WR pace and can get ratty on stream at times from the pressure. But he's still loved and revered as a runner because he's hardworking, regularly takes part in SM64 speedrun and randomizer contests and is a genuinely sweet guy. There's probably a world where Cosmo stayed on track and is loved to this day and cheese became the narc shut-in, but it's not this one :semperfidelis:

Cheese doesn't really have the personality to be a top Twitch star, but his skill in his games is enough that people will tune in anyway. Yet, even with his built in audience he will never be oats or poo because of that, he's going to be stuck with people who care more for Mario than for cheese. Its still enough to get donates and subs though and the whole community has respect for him.

I dunno. I'll stay :optimistic: and say Narci is getting back into speedrunning and is dropping her façade and starting new, but that probably isn't the case.
I have an archive of the full speedrun, but it refuses to upload to the Farms. I'll try uploading again later, but if any of you are willing to archive it that's okay.

Here is an archive of the YouTube upload. For anyone interested in the story behind it, arbitrary code execution is now possible in OoT, and is already being used in recorded speedruns. "14:22" is 2:19 behind the WR at the time of this post, though Speedrun.com currently has Narcissa listed as 8th, with an official time of 14:23.216. The vid has no commentary, facecam, or explanation. Most of the comments are pretty good, most people celebrating the return to OoT, except for this lad, who will probably get the comments disabled on this video too:

Anybody who thinks Cosmo is just going to snap out of his 'Narcissa' persona and will get back into speedrunning as before is just as batshit as he is.

He's really shown his true colors after putting on that costume personality. Him now going 'lol look at me I'm back, it's the Cosmo you like just like you remember' doesn't change how much of a obnoxious degenerate he's been the last few years.

If anything he'd double down and make it a 'Narcissa is the REAL speedrunner, stop deadnaming me'
