My teachers back in school pointed out that there are inequalities towards men as well as women. For example, women being perceived as nurturing in the preschool setting while a male teacher would be seen as suspect. Or, while we're talking about teachers, the punishments a male teacher receives for having an inappropriate relationship with a female student vs. those of a woman teacher with a male student. Those things deserve serious discussion.

In my experience, the guys who talk about men's rights only really care about themselves. They'll always try to bring it around so that it can benefit them. "I'm not a feminist, I'm an equalist." That's always a warning sign for me. Hell, that last line is an attempt to look like the better person by claiming the other party only cares about their own rights.

I'm an equalist, but I'll to fight for everyone (within reason. Fuck NAMBLA). Men have problems with inequality? I'll fight for them. Same with women, trans people, homosexuals and minorities.

The MRA's most basic idea (that hey, men have some inequalities too that society doesn't highlight) is an okay idea, anyone who wants everybody to have equal rights is fine. But the movement is unorganized and poisoned with nutjobs that blame women for all of their problems, so any place where there is MRA discussion usually turns into a place to whine about "TEH EVUL WIMMENS".

One thing I forgotten to mention is that there is two types of MRAs, pro-feminist ones and anti-feminist ones.

You don't often hear about the pro-feminist ones (and I don't think they actually call themselves MRAs). theGoodManProject used to host articles about them until fairly recently. I wouldn't call myself an MRA for obvious reasons (homer Plz) but I tend to have little tolerance for sexism, regardless of which gender is being targeted (does that also make me a feminist, dunno).

One thing that MRAs have done is that through their incompetence and casual sexism they have salted almost all discussions about mens issues. I complain about a commercial where a women threatens to beat her husband for doing something stupid and I get accused of being an MRA (aka someone who is misogynic).

I do believe that when one gender is harmed by sexism, the other is also disadvantaged in very subtile ways. Men and women don't live in a bubble, we have to live and work with each other so it is important for men to be interested in women's issues but articles about women's issues often get derailed in the comments by men pointing out the issues that affect them. Basically if you care so much about the issue then create your own article and stop playing oppression olympics. Ironically many feminists would probably agree with the mens issues but it is not the appropriate place to discuss them as it implies that men just don't care about women issues

Wow there sure is a lot of IMMATURE and IRRATIONAL negativity on this thread. Lol okay children. Pretty telling that simply the idea of men being treated equally is so threatening to you because it should be. Men have been the most oppressed class throughout all of history. Who did all the work while women basically lazed around at home playing with the kids? Men. Who had to fight in all the wars and risk their lives and often die, while women sat around gossiping and having sewing circles. Men. But now all that's about to change. For the last 10,000 years or so women have secretly controlled the world with lies and deceit and let idiots and sheeple think men were in charge with deceptive contructs like "the patriarchy" but now sheeple are finally being redpilled and getting the wool taken out from their eyes. Yeah, I'd be scared too if my femiluminati narrative was crumbling down.

I'm happy to debate you guys but I think the echochamber is just too strong here, you're all brainwashed and feminized from your tumblr hugboxes. If you ever want to drop by /r/mensrights we can have a proper discussion and you'll see just how wrong and stupid you are from the sheer weight of downvotes you get.

I appreciate your opinion, but I disagree with all of you. I think the problem is that we are letting people rule us rather than information and ideas.

We need Artificial intelligence ruling us rather than people. Our tools have been the thing that has taken us from mere shit flingers living in trees to the rulers of the world. It is now time for us to accept natures flaws and inability to give us a future. We need to now rely on our tools to grant us the future that we all desire. A world without death a world without end, a world without biological life!

When you guys can finally accept that AI's should be calling the shots and that Feminism and Masculinism are both failed philosophies that will only promote a culture of constant biological death. Than maybe just maybe we might have a real discussion here.

Okay so first of all I never mentioned being a brony so you're either perpetuating a stereotype or you've been stalking my twitter feed. Twitter stalking is basically doxxing and I'm not about to be intimidated by a WHORE and her little army of BETA-ORBITERS dropping little details from my twitter. Shaming men for their issues is what women do and I'm beyond such petty and base forms of control. Go ahead and tell them about my troubles with the Social Security department or my struggles with erectile disfunction I don't even care. I'm a proud male activist and I can't be silenced or shamed by petty whores and their accusations and by the way I've reported your posts to the moderators as obvious evidence of doxxing so checkmate.

Also I'm leaving this argument as the obvious winner because you've all shown clearly that you don't have the maturity or emotional restraint to hold my attention. Double Checkmate.
