Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

Missouri only makes a spouse pay alimony after 10 years of marriage, which makes Lowtax going after that go fund me all the more disgusting.
I just went to several sites on Missouri divorce law and how alimony is calculated and can’t find a single mention of ten years, or any number of years, as a requirement for alimony being awarded.

In fact they mention just being out of the workforce for a year or two due to marriage as part of the calculation for alimony.

I'm not sure most people know, but the higher tax rate on wealthier incomes isn't taxed on the entire income, it is taxed only on income that surpasses the bracket. So if the lowest tax bracket is say, 10% of your income for those earning less than 20K a year, and you earn 30 K a year, the first 20K of your money will only be taxed at 10%, and the remaining 10K will be taxed at the next higher rate. It is ridiculous for him to say half his income is being taken by taxes when he isn't even in the highest bracket. I haven't been able to find any information about why patreon is different than other sources of income, probably because it isn't. Its like an independent contractor, you have to set aside tax money for the end of the year because it isn't withheld, but it isn't 50% of it, jfc.

Patreon money is 1099 money. You have to pay not only normal Federal & State income tax, but also Social Security and medicare taxes; when you are on a W-2, your employer eats half those costs.
I did some 1099 work for my county's election board back when I was DEFINITELY not in a higher tax bracket at the time, and about half that money vanished as my taxes owed jumped up by about 1/2 of the amount I'd earned.

I bet Lowtax is doing some of that junkie over exaggeration, but I'll believe he's seeing less than 60 cents on the patreon dollar in his bank account.

SA will probably be a memory by the end of 2020. Definitely not much later than that. By the time Lowtax figures out he's fucked and tries to sell it, the brand will be so toxic that no one will want it.

People keep saying SA will die by the end of the year every year since 2011. Sure it'll be right one of these times, but I don't think its this year. Lowtax has nothing else, this is his sole source of income. (and 20-something BPD thots) SA won't die until Lowtax isn't making any money from it.

Remember when laughing about being a spineless fuckstick costing Lowtax $50,000 that he is STILL making $100,000 on patreon alone. Even assuming he's telling the truth about losing half of that between taxes and fee, he's still pocketing $50,000 every year, almost a grand every week.

SA is going to be gay and filled with commies and trannies well into the 2030's.

If Lowtax got a dollar every time someone said, “this is it, this year is the year when SA finally shuts down for good”, Lowtax could pay for a Xenforo upgrade and blow it on Goldbelly pies...again.

Something Awful will likely never shut down for good, it will probably always cover it's own hosting cost considering how little there really is there, but Something Awful is 100% dead.

Whenever anyone talks about Something Awful - they're referring to the past. Doom House, "your poison womb is making heaven too crowded", zyborne clock, photoshop friday, whatever - it's all way in the fucking past. Something Awful hasn't done anything relevant in years and will, because of how horrendous of a site it is now, never will again. There is nothing to look forward to with Something Awful.

That looks nice for him on paper but it's also an equitable distribution state, so the lack of alimony means the less wealthy spouse is going to be favored in the split of the marital estate. Also while alimony might not exist in this case, this is the kind of thing that would reduce your child support anyway, so he's definitely looking at child support, and more than he would if there weren't alimony involved.

(My personal opinion on alimony in general is it's obsolete and shouldn't exist but that's just me.)

I don't see any specifics on years either. It sounds like someone just heard the definition of a "long-term marriage" in California (10 years) and misplaced it somehow.

I did find this: https://www.maritallaws.com/states/missouri/alimony

The duration of payments is determined by a judge in Missouri family court. Alimony length is usually based on length of marriage - one commonly used standard for alimony duration is that 1 year of alimony is paid every three years of marriage (however, this is not always the case in every state or with every judge). Alimony may also be discontinued upon the remarriage or cohabitation of the receiving spouse. In some cases, judges may even award permanent alimony.

This is one of these generic sites that just summarize shit and presumably try to sucker you into hiring the firm with the website but it does have links to the actual statutes.

I seriously don't think the specific technicalities of Missouri law are going to have much to do with the ultimate outcome, but maybe I'm underestimating Dickard's super duper lawyer. Personally though whoever that guy is, I don't think Dickard has enough money to pay him for any super duper magic he's capable of. He's just going to get the schmuck level representation, if the guy doesn't outright duck out of this clusterfuck.

You can look forward to that fateful day when the hardware store in Lee's Summit has a sale on rope.
Or Lowtax finally troons out.

SA is like your old college bar, or HS bar you snuck into, with a nerdy comic store above it. You had a few good years there with some crazy stories, met some really interesting ppl. Time marched on, your life progressed, you didn’t have time for hanging out at the old haunt.

Years later you pop in to the place and discover all the cool and interesting ppl are long gone and now it’s just occupied by these whiny, depressing dregs that were barely noticeable, or mocked, years ago are now the majority. They are utter failures, 38 year old mental teenagers, and a bunch of the fat ugly ones are now wearing dresses and make-up.

The owner of the place is still there. Now he’s fat, middle aged with ex-wives, kids, alimony woes. He’s still acting like a moron and using his “office” and free drinks to try and get in the pants of the younger women dumb and desperate enough to hang out in the place.

Realistically - what is actually hosted on SA? It's all still pictures, literal text articles, flash games/movies, and a forum running on software from 1999/2003. A non-retarted person could probably host SA as it currently is on a fucking flash drive - not like it gets huge traffic either.

There's 200+GB of attached images with a compressed copy kept on the server.

The amusing part is that when a user uses the attach file uploader on the posting screen, the attached image get's uploaded to the server when you press the preview post/thread button and the image stays uploaded even if the user doesn't post what ever jibberish there posting.

i remember ZDR chimping out how much trouble it was compressing the directory then getting/keeping a stable download from the old servers then upload to the new hosting.

Is it really that bad? Do they at least have hashes or something so that if you upload some common image, it just links to the already saved image rather than having another copy?

Doubt. You have to remember the codebase of SA is a combination of sticks, gum, and some PHP from over a decade ago.

Really? Must be all kinds of more or less questionable content uploaded there. It's been 20 years.

No way there isn't with the users SA attracts.

About a year ago one of Imgur's big re-posters, somebody who would take the top memes from the day and then repost them a month or two later to get those absolutely worthless upvotes, accidentally un-privated one of their folders which had thousands of CP pictures/videos in them. Not questionable teen or babies in bathtubs type shit, but infants getting fucked level stuff. The folder was dated years ago, proving none of that shit is ever reviewed. 30+ years online and it's the only time I've ever filled out an online FBI tip.

If a normie site like Imgur has problems with that shit then I shudder to think of the problem on a site that shelters pedo admins.

I did not know this, but either before or after Integral, Lowtax dated another goonette with the SN Fawnette. She was the famous smiley of a blonde flashing her tits. (Also a photo posted of Lowtax proposing to her which may or may not be a joke.)

She returned for a brief moment in 2015. The killjoys seemed to chase her off with “being uncomfortable” by a female not ashamed of flashing her titties.

I wonder if that smiley still works or if it was deleted for being “problematic”
