The denials. "We just wanted him to get better!"
Not quite. It is not denial when you know you're lying.
The conversation with Nick is fully part of the bargain stage: This lie is just another bargain argument "we were well intended, we didn't do anything wrong, please stop hurting us".

EDIT: After thinking about it, i'm not sure we witnessed a denial stage from the defendants. Denial implies that you're deluding yourself. The defendants have been lying, and have been lied to. They have been convinced of things that are false, like the fact that they would get the GFM money. But lying isn't denial, and being convinced by a lawyer that you'll easily get off the hook for free isn't either.

EDIT2: Well, Jamie trying to dodge being served was probably denial is some extend. She was probably deluding herself into thinking that if she didn't get the papers, the lawsuit would just go away somehow.

I was thinking more that they are looking at the damage done to the community and her career and are just going "we did the right thing. This is not our fault. We just need to outlast this and everything will go back to normal."

It is their fault though. They can't get past that.

IIRC, Funimation openly stated that Vic wasn't blacklisted or fired for sexual harassment. Apparently, ANN thought it was ok to put in his bio that he was blacklisted by Funimation because of it.

Does... Does ANN understands that this could bite their ass off?

dude wtf.

surely this can get them in huge trouble what the fuck are they thinking

Boycotting cons for inviting this one guy even though he's there because people requested him and most likely will hurt the con in future events for people who actually like the con. Truly a genius plan. I wonder if that would work for a big con
imagine if Vic gets invited to NYCC
Lynn emails the staff in her usual threatening manner
Con replies back, saying they have the right to invite whoever they want
Lynn spergs on Twitter, massive storm ensues on there

Weekend of the con, you read the headline in the Post "Crazed Woman Arrested at NY Comic Con, Yelling for the Head of a Victor Mignogna"

Hopefully they're filing police reports, however mundane that is. If they post stupid shit on the internet then we'll handle archiving that.

Dear God,
I pray to you because I want you, I am begging you to do one thing. Please, please let Vic win on appeals in a couple of weeks. Please help Vic’s legal team go through the appeals, because if discovery comes back and it’s revealed that ANN got their hands dirty, I want to see them nailed to litigation. I want to see this morally and financially impoverished website get pushed into the lawsuit. I want to see them pay because these scumbags will continue to cause misery to others as long as they go unpunished. That’s all I ask.

In the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

ANN's about to reach one full year of begging for money because of ad revenue, right? They're just as pathetic as Wikipedia, except they're not as relevant and will most likely die first before the big Wikipedia will collapse.

Maybe Sabat was the one with the real motive - I could see him thinking he stood to lose something. Vic has star power, outstripped Sabat and Schemmel with Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Broly is a very popular DBZ character, but was that really because of Vic? Vic I think has always been more well-known as Edward, Tamaki and the guy who sings some of Funimation's English OPs. It's only been in recent years that people realize he's actually Broly, and I don't think Vic is exactly the reason the Broly movie did so well. Sabat is probably just super jealous he couldn't get to be Broly after all since their other attempt to get him terminated failed. Vic might've been the last one to record his lines in that case.

Not that I don't like a good dunk on ANN but can we get a source on that? I don't exactly remember if/where that was said.

You could read that as Funimation being really scummy and saying Vic was fired for sexual harassment, but the tweet wasn't meant to say that he was.

Of course, there's a distinct lack of language supporting that anywhere. The closest we get is Tami Denbow found the accusations "credible".

EVS is also an idiot who has to rely on "anti SJW's" to sell comics they'll never read. He hasn't understood the industry for over a decade. Biggest issues DC Comics is facing with their comics is that they're catering to the "woke crowd" with their smaller imprints and lesser known titles then shit can them when they don't sell.
You can hate on the guy for whatever you want. But we need receipts on statements like 'rely on Anti SJWs' and 'hasn't understood the industry for a decade.

You then immediately say DC's problems stem from 'catering to the woke crowd. Which is the very thing has been saying since the day he left DC and started his own company/doing his own book... which is now over $1,000,000.

Does not compute.

They were already exposed clearly and publicly lying about photos. Don't know how much more proof one needs that they're dirty.

And I believe Ty said they're an unlikely target because of the cross-border complications.

But if Chupp's TCPA screw-up makes it logistically impossible to file against SABAT before the statute of limitations runs out, and if there's still money left after everything else, Vic could get himself a Canadian attorney to figure out the statutes of limitations & his possible remedies.

And that’s why ANN is probablydoing what they’re doing: they think they’re untouchable.

Ain’t this also part of the thing where Funimations could have been spared had they just gone “we’re cutting ties with Vic” without any embellishments?
