Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

For the first time in weeks there's a major change on the John Hopkins dashboard--besides the 2 Aus and 1 Japan cases, there were no First World "Recovered" cases. They now show a US case as recoverd on Seattle. According to news reports, he was the first US diagnosed case, but all they say is he was sent home from the hospital to be isolated and monitored. Not sure if this is good or what.

Of course the Time article is from 4 days ago, so either John Hopkins is late on reporting the "recovery"or it's a true recovery and his condition improved in the past 4 days and they have access to info not yet reported in the news.

I assume this relates to the whole they found the virus shedding in his stool still. So having to remain in isolation is related to them not being able to spread it along until they test negative. Prevautionary measures. Letting him go home just means they feel he's no longer at risk for the severe complications.

He's probably at the tail end and just waiting for the last symptoms to stop. Especially if the cough is the last thing to go.

I can't help but feel this is probably why China keeps getting new cases. The 'recovered' column grows but if that just means the person whose recovered is out of the woods for severe symptoms and sent home they might take that as they're fine and go back to doing whatever, when in reality they are still contagious to others. If that's coupled with being able to pass on the virus before showing symptoms it's no wonder it's ballooning in number of infected.

I'm going to put on my tin foil hat for a second here.

If it turns out to truly be more affective against east asians, could it be possible that the western research facilities let the chinks "steal" the virus knowing that their lab tech was shite and it would get out?

Could be, but America also has high numbers of east asian population. If that spreads to their own country, where these people are minorities, would be too suspicious if only they drop dead. This is a chart that was making the rounds earlier. It won't only affect Chinese, but people from different backgrounds. And yes, also whites.

(check #7...hah...)

If we find out that there is indeed a very specific virus, that it specifically affects Han Chinese while the rest of people, even the risk populations, do overall well, I think it would be because they were trying to find a vaccine for themselves and were testing it on their own people rather than being targeted by Western countries.

Developing Theory #4 (2+3) Is the one I give the most credence. It was a developed lab specimen. Most likely a test subject used to test and develop vaccines against an expected Coronavirus outbreak. Not specifically a weapon. It was in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. And much like happened with the most recent SARS outbreak and a few other prior incidents in China, somebody was selling excess lab animals to the live markets. Suddenly it all comes together. We have likely point of origin and explanation for some of the Viruses odd developmental quirks that do not look natural. We have the tie in to the Live Market. And we have a path connecting them that has been seen in at least 4 other Chinese Lab Containment Breaches in the past few years. Somebody who didn't give no fucks and wanted some extra holiday scratch was selling the lab animals which ended up in the live market.
This actually sounds very plausible and makes sense.
- Wuhan is an incompetent city
- Politicians are eunuchs
- The lab has high end shit, but the people who work there are kind of stupid (refer to my longer recent post)
- Chinamen eat fucking everything that's sentient
- China has some nice stuff sure, hygiene is shit, standards are low, markets are filthy

However, the lab still took the same time as the Shanghai one (actually they spent more time, since the virus had to be sent to Shanghai) to deconstruct the virus [insert technical term here... genetic sequencing or whatever I forgot]. If it's really a test subject there that carried a virus they made, then what took them so long?

Also, that lab has a bio-safety level of P4, surely test subjects won't just get funnelled out?
Who am I kidding, they had a winter vacation while the virus was circulating, the city of Wuhan arrested 8 experts, falsely accused them of spreading rumours while it's a screenshot someone else leaked and it was closed group, therefore where's the act of "spreading", and the politicians of Wuhan had a cringe worthy CNY gathering involving 40k fucking families.

And fuck me, Hubei's official wechat account deleted their post on the CNY gathering, I should have archived it, arrrrrrrg fuck. It's even on the local newspaper.
Not a big deal, I'm sure I can find it, here it is, begin to cringe.

This isn't fake shit, these photos were posted on Hubei's official wechat “湖北宣教”, 宣教 means 宣傳教育, "spreading and education", or one succinct word, "propaganda".

Here's the very nice masterpieces of culinary, even Gordon Ramsay should be satisfied (or else get arrested for spreading misinformation)

This is actually the same as a local church Christmas gathering. Each family brings their own dish, it's really nice and it's a great way to celebrate something big... however yeah... cross infection. Also those cringey commie propaganda shit, Xi really think he's the second coming of Mao.

Here's a video:

Okay, now it gets a little bit complicated:

A british citizen was tested positive for the coronavirus in Mallorca/Spain - he contracted the virus from a british family in France while on a skiing trip. The infected family in France was apparently infected by someone from Singapore.

edit:

Also, another case in London - also contracted the virus in France:

*Sigh* of course it'd be a Brit. Don't worry we're already used to taking care of you tea drinking bastards!

(For anyone that doesn't get it: brits love coming to spain to leech off of our healthcare because we really do need to start putting in checks for non-nationals already. This is called "turismo farmaceutico" (rough translation: "healthcare tourism"), and is so common than their colony of gibraltar doesn't even have proper medical facilities as their citizens just take a trip to the nearby province of Cadiz whenever they get sick. And yea, we are ultra-salty about that specially because Gibraltar also causes many, many issues both ecological and criminal because they keep dumping a ton of shit into the ocean and obstructing our government's work, effectively being a safe harbor for drug cartels who enter europe. So every few months we have another awful result of their shit dick measuring contest with our stupid ass government.)

Jokes (and salt) aside I do find it hilarious that all spanish infectees are from other european countries yet our hotel staff and waiters have been left alone by the disease, usually as soon as a tourist catches something those dumbasses in catalonia start catching it like flies. This shit really can be contained by bare bones western sanitation if they haven't yet. So china has a LOT to explain right now.

Makes this theory by @RodgerDodger sound even more believable:

The final solution to the British Question in Spain is very simple.

For those who don't get it, Brits have a thing for dying by balcony in Spain.

Check the chart I posted above: Iberians are actually a risk population.

Check the chart I posted above: Iberians are actually a risk population.

For a lot of mestizos they’d get a double whammy since some also have eastern asian ancestry through native Americans in addition to Iberian ancestry.

S. America has Chinese ancestry due to Native Americans and then actual Chinese immigration from a few decades ago. People here are practically genetically Chinese without knowing it.

I wonder how many corona virus deaths in China are preventable.
Lots. That JAMA paper a few pages back said 41% were probably hospital acquired. They should be isolating people at home. Instead they are collecting people together and creating conditions where not only will the virus spread like wildfire but they run a higher chance of selecting for a driving a more virulent strain.
There is no way a virus will just simply escape from a bio-safety level 4 lab, unless one is willing to entertain the idea of either French or Chinese researchers intentionally infecting people.
Ok with not too much power levelling I can say from experience this isn’t true. With all the SOPs and autism and highly trained people in the world, even western labs have leaks, drainage issues, BioWaste removal and disposal issues and contractors fucking up ventilation issues. Oh the airflow goes that way... shit... oh the storm this weekend has damaged the roof and flooded which area?... shit... People slip and stick themselves with needles. Stuff happens. The foot and mouth outbreak in 07 was from the pirbright lab, via a dodgy pipe. It shouldn’t happen but people are human, and sometimes it does.
I’ve worked with China on medical research projects. The idea of a BSL4 lab somewhere like China gives me chills. (Frankly even the ones in the western countries do)
Is this released? I don’t think we have enough data to say either way, nature is perfectly capable of cooking this stuff up herself, especially given a wet market hot zone to play with. But it’s just as likely it was something sampled from the wild and stored. After SARS, people have been collecting wild samples for study. It doesn’t have to have been a super engineered weapon, it could just be sample 389b among a thousand others, from some random bat infested cave somewhere, being grown up for aliquotting out and storage, or raising antibodies, or looking at a specific protein.
We will probably never know where it came from. A bio lab fuck up is one possibility among many.

Kim Jong Un just canceled some big parade for no apparent reason. SK media just started running some stories that coronachan is spreading in best korea.

Things might get really messy. If only there was some way to see PLA deployments near NK.

EDIT: some real neat guns popping up in China. I've seen some C96s and now we got a Maxim.

Did this trend start before or after your doctors stopped selling peoples new born children?
Actually that trend ended with the healthcare revamp that occured during the transition, which is the same law package which allowed for and therefore started healthcare tourism, so you could say one started exactly as the other ended. Like the exact vote that ended one started the other. Funny how that shit works. Also btw more often than not doctors weren't the one doing the sell, just the kidnapping, the sellers were nuns.

Chinese official confirms airborne transition:
A Chinese official has confirmed a scary new fact about the deadly coronavirus: it is airborne.

It was previously understood that two main ways the virus transmitted from person to person were:
• Direct transmission: breathing in air close to an infected patient who sneezes or coughs, and
• Contact transmission: when a person touches an object tainted with the virus before infecting themselves by touching their mouth, nose or eyes.

However, over the weekend, an official in Shanghai confirmed the virus also travelled through aerosol transmission, which means it can float a long distance through the air and cause infection later when it is breathed in.
“Aerosol transmission refers to the mixing of the virus with droplets in the air to form aerosols, which causes infection after inhalation, according to medical experts,” Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau deputy head Zeng Qun said at press briefing on Saturday, the China Daily reports.
“As such, we have called on the public to raise their awareness of the prevention and control of the disease caused by family gatherings.”

The concerns about airborne spread of the disease are so dire that the government has urged residents to cancel all social activities and avoid gatherings altogether.
People are also urged to open windows in the home to help with ventilation, and disinfect door handles, dinner tables and toilet seats.
This worrying development comes as the death toll from the virus in mainland China hits 811, making it more deadly than the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic.

A further 89 people, most in the virus’s epicentre of Hubei, have been pronounced dead from the outbreak, which pushes the death toll beyond the 774 killed worldwide by SARS, which took hold in 2002 and 2003.
The number of people infected in China is now almost 37,200.
