Sorry guys but can I ask for advice on calming down?
I lurked on /pol/ conspiracies and now I'm genuinely panicking- even though I know that /pol/ tried to predict HAPPENINGS before and failed. But still I can't keep my mind off them because its the type of person I am (I'm easily bothered by things like hiccups and can't make them go away). I know that there's the part of me left that some soldiers won't suddenly come up to my door and assassinate me because I made edgy jokes, I don't know why I'm freaking out like those gangstalker people now.

p-pls help; I admit I have anxiety problems in the past but flinging my shit over something that won't probably happen will not help anything.
What are calming techniques to keep my mind rational and use common sense; mostly on the freaking out over conspiracy part because my brain is trying to believe that I'm gonna die.
I know its dumb but pls help :stress:
Go for a run. The endorphins and exhaustion will set you straight

Exercise. Even if it's just going for a short walk.

edit: @qu_rahn great minds think alike

It's interesting to think about the potential fallout of this....

If it comes out that this was a genetically enginnered disease: China is in deep fucking shit...

You would have an entire global community furious with them...

That's brave of you to assume.

If that turns out to be the case, the "global community" would likely join in the cover up out of fear of it destabilizing the flow of goods even more than the current disruption. It would still seep out into the masses while being suppressed by media orgs and become a begrudgingly accepted conspiracy that everyone is sort of aware of but won't do anything about it. Think of the Epstein murder as a recent example of this, but on a larger and slower to spread scale. Remember, the elite ruling class is both malicious and incompetent. A very dangerous combination.

A combination of having given up on life, remembering that nothing interesting ever happens, and point meditation generally works for me.

How many people in Oregon are being monitored for coronavirus? Health officials won't say

In comparison, the state of Washington posts on their public website the number of people being monitored.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Health Authority refuses to reveal how many people in the state are being monitored for the coronavirus, now called COVID-19.

Spokesman Jonathan Modie said “there is a lot of stigma connected to the virus right now.”

He added that withholding the total number of people monitored would “protect the privacy of the individuals we are monitoring.”

He also cited a state law, ORS 433.008, which he said means “any information obtained by OHA or a local public health authority in the course of an investigation of a reportable disease or disease outbreak is confidential."

KGW is not asking for names or addresses, only seeking the entire number.

In comparison, the state of Washington posts on their public website the number of folks being monitored.

And in California, the California Department of Public Health reports 7,600 people statewide are self-monitoring.

Knute Buehler, a leading Republican in Oregon who is now running for Congress, and happens to be a medical doctor, issued a statement on OHA’s refusal.

“In times of serious disease outbreaks, where lives are at stake, government health officials must go the extra mile to share information with the public. Unfortunately, our state government does not have a culture of transparency. Now is not the time to be holding information back. It not only breeds distrust; it could cost lives,” Buehler wrote.

Slowly but steadily beginning to prep with chicken breasts, pasta, dry rice, canned beans, toiletries, and such. Already got the flu vaccine in fall, and I'm considering making an appointment for a tetanus vaccine for good measure. My workplace posted a notice about Corona-chan weeks back, but no updates from my uni aside from a few e-mails sent out in January. Someone in my class ended up getting sick and hospitalized for pneumonia, but he confirmed it wasn't Corona (he's not Asian); there hasn't been anything else aside from the usual viruses looming around.

Some good things about living in the southeastern states are that the warmer climate will likely make Corona-chan less susceptible, although I can't say the same about the snowbirds and boomers migrating to and from. My mom's pantry is always filled to the brim with food and non-perishables (that's Italian heritage for ya), so everything is looking alright when I drive over and come back from spring break. I look forward to reading the influx of Florida Man stories from my dorm or bedroom. The mingling tourists and students over the weeks to come, not so much.
If you are a church-goer stay home if there are cases in your area. Good place to catch or spread the virus. God will understand.
THIS. Religious Kiwis, you are exempt from attending Mass or other gatherings if you are ill, travelling (if there isn't a church, temple, or mosque anywhere), or natural disasters interfere. The Big Man Upstairs knows that you have good intentions not to spread anything nasty to other goers, and a little extra grace goes a long way for praying to the sick- at least those who don't intentionally/unwittingly spread it without taking precautions or under quarantine.

Maybe at one point. Thousands of years of internal strife, mass gender extermination, plagues, tianenman street pizza, and communism made sure to fix those little problems of human decency.
They've always been kind of a sociopathic culture, but really they did have many positive aspects to it prior to communism. I think in a lot of ways China is proof that communism wont actually fix the problems people want it to, it just puts the kinds of people whom cause those problems in positions of absolute power.

Wow wtf happened to this thread like a week or two ago it was mostly people posting relevant info and news clippings. Now there are a bunch of people posting dumb shit like how they are gonna be some badass survivalist with 20 guns and ammunition crates while they type away on Kiwi Farms. It's ok to go a bit autistic with it but don't go full R-etard.
Well... the preppers are prepped. So what's a prepper to do when it's happening? Hunker down and shitpost every waking moment that the precious internet is still on.

And all the people that held their dicks until two days ago. They're either raiding the local markets or falling into despair. Both of which lead to shitposting.

So as you can see, we're in a prime moment for shitposting to break out spontaneously. Nobody is safe. You could already be shitposting and not eve- oh my god.

If you don't mind a simplified animation from 2016 from a liberal German youtube channel, they do go into colistin as being the big "uh oh" in China. I'm still deciding on whether they're soft-shoeing around China to be nice, or to nudge people that Chinese practices can be a problem. Videos like these are what some teachers show when they don't want to teach class for 10 or so minutes:

A little off-topic but this reminds me of the arms race between AI, GAN and anti-AI measures. Anyone else see a similarity in those after watching this video?

I

I fortunately already posses a good deal of knowledge on foraging including mycology. But I live in the north. We can always hunt year round but foraging isn't really an option when the ground is snow covered. Not to mention that what I am preparing for is isolation so scouring the land would defeat that purpose.

A lady at the checkout asked if I have a really big family. I said, "No. I am preparing for the potential socioeconomic fallout from a global pandemic of wuflu." Everyone looked at me like I was wearing a tinfoil hat. I guess I am in the crazy class now.
Well if you phrased it in that exact way I wouldn't blame them. "Just stocking up" would have worked.

seems china might have lied about their number, i know i can't believe it either they always seemed so trust worthy.

A province in eastern China has been accused of covering up the true scale of its coronavirus outbreak by seriously under-reporting the number of its daily cases.
The health crisis in Shandong Province is up to 52 times worse than officials have admitted, a report revealed today.
Between February 9 and 23, the daily infection figure in the region greatly exceeded the official data, with the margin ranging from 1.36 to 52 times, the article said.

The shocking revelation was made today by The Epoch Times, a US-based Chinese-language newspaper backed by the Falungong movement.
The outlet claimed to have obtained internal documents from the Shandong Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Although the regional government claimed that there were a total of 755 patients in the province as of yesterday, the leaked papers showed that 1,992 people had tested positive by February 23.

And on February 22, a total of 61 patients - instead of the officially stated four - were diagnosed with the deadly disease.
While Beijing claims that the number of cases outside Hubei has been decreasing to single digits in the past week, Shandong Province alone confirmed 274 new sufferers on February 20, the article said.
MailOnline cannot independently verify the authenticity of the claims.
The news comes after a worrying outbreak was detected inside a prison in Shandong.

Seven guards and 200 inmates last week tested positive for the virus at Rencheng prison, the provincial health commission confirmed.
Xie Weijun, head of Shandong's justice department, was sacked over the outbreak along with seven other prison officials.
Wu Lei, director of Shandong's prison administration, said the new cases showed that 'the implementation of our prevention and control measures has not been effective'.

State newspaper People's Daily said the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, the Chinese authority for political and legal affairs, had set up a special team to investigate the outbreak in the prison in Shandong.
It also comes as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday hit out at China and Iran for their response to the outbreak of coronavirus, accusing the two governments of censorship and of trying to cover up the severity of the spread of the deadly illness.
Pompeo assailed Beijing for expelling three Wall Street Journal reporters and said a free press was needed to ensure accurate information about the virus is available to the public and medical personnel.

'Expelling our journalists exposes once again the government's issue that led to SARS and now the coronavirus, namely censorship. It can have deadly consequences,' Pompeo said of China.
'Had China permitted its own and foreign journalists and medical personnel to speak and investigate freely, Chinese officials and other nations would have been far better prepared to address the challenge,' he told reporters at a State Department news conference.
Beijing rebuked Pompeo's 'groundless' allegations.

Originating in Wuhan, the new coronavirus - known as COVID-19 - has infected more than 78,000 people inside China.
Hubei, situated in central China, accounts for more than 80 per cent of the confirmed cases and 95 per cent of the deaths globally.

Wuhan, the provincial capital with 11 million residents, went into lockdown on January 23 in the wake of the outbreak. The majority part of Hubei then followed suit.
Overnight, the Hubei health officials reported 401 new cases out of a nationwide total of 406 and all 52 new deaths from the country.
Outbreaks outside of China, however, have escalated in the past few days. Dozens of countries are now battling the contagion, with South Korea, Italy, Japan and Iran among the worst-affected.
Globally, the coronavirus epidemic has killed at least 2,771 people, infected more than 81,400 and spread to at least two dozen countries.

just jerk off, usually calms me down

I mean, what you say does explain why noone in the US is doing anything about the problem, but that really begs the question.

Should Trump not be at least attempting to do something? Shouldn't state governors be doing something? Or can all the blame be attributed to the system of government? If the latter, what does that say about the system of government and the weakness of 'leaders' who won't even attempt to do anything?
What would you have them do that they haven't already done? You had the shills at the WHO claiming China had it under control and "It's just a flu for bro". We aren't an authoritarian shithole like China. We don't sequester sick citizens against their will in the USA unless they meet very precise criteria (tuberculosis patients who refuse/can't take their meds and are contagious). Even then we don't hold them incommunicado. China lied to everyone about the severity of the Red Death and now that it's out in the open you'll probably see protocols that haven't been used since smallpox/measles/rubella/scarlet fever were a danger being reviewed and adapted for this (except California where you're expected to get the AIDS, don't be a bigot, Nazi punk, fuck off!).

No matter what Trump does he's screwed; if he allows the states to deal with it he's screamed at from not having a plan, if he declares an emergency and takes action they'll call him a dictator. Wait a few minutes.until the press conference.

life in the country has been pretty dope. It’ll probably be fine, but hey was time for a vacation anyways.
Anywho, onto my actual reason for posting:

my favorite theory is that the US did make it but let the chinks steal it and fuck up like we knew they would. Like how we let the Soviet Union steal some pipeline software that was purposely set to fuck up. Sometimes glowniggers do cool shit (not usually but this would be dope). Also shoutouts to Dr.Purr
