So I have recently found out that apparently I have an uncle that I don't think I've ever met die "mysteriously" of pneumonia. Apparently they're investigating to see if he had the corona or not. He was 49, located in the states, and given my family's history probably suffered dreadfully from diabetes.

Who knows, getting info from my father is like trying to grab water. Took me three fucking months to figure out another uncle was in a coma. By the time they finally told me everything, he woke up.

That's whats got me nervous. Diabetics already suffer from issues with colds/flus, this coronavirus has sounded particularly nasty to diabetics. And its not like we can just go out and buy enough insulin (that R stuff from walmart is complete shit) to go for months at a time, we are stuck with prescriptions and if a disaster hits at the right time between shipments you are royally fucked.

OTOH, it will be morbidly curious to see what this does to the Deathfat forum. So many of those cows are massively obese, have breathing problems, and suffer from diabetes and other conditions that hamper the immune system or cardiovascular system. If someone like Corissa or Amy gets it, they are fucked.

90% sure the 'undisclosed Kaiser hospital' is in Marin county. Know via a coworker's nurse parent that there's a coronavirus patient there; it was originally 'an undisclosed Marin County hospital' and heard from her that its Kaiser, so seems likely.

Aw shit,

Just learned that Cixi's Xi's Clap is now in my state. Sure as hell am going to stay off public transit, avoid any unnecessary human contact and cancel my Bar crawling plans put a cork on any semblance of a social life I still have for the next two months. Perhaps a shine to Lord Nurgle and Thor who beats up chinese dragon looking serpents are in order as well.

DENVER (KDVR) – Two "presumptive positive" cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis said Thursday afternoon.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the first patient is an out-of-state man in his 30s. He was visiting Summit County.
The man spent time in Italy in mid-February, Polis said. One of his travel companions during that trip tested positive for the virus.
On Feb. 29, the man flew to Denver International Airport, rented a vehicle and traveled to a condo in Summit County. He did not show symptoms at the time, Polis said.
The governor said the man was in Summit County for outdoor activities, but could not say whether he visited ski resorts.
The man was spending time with his fiancee and two friends. The friends are Denver residents.
The friends and fiancee are currently in quarantine.
On March 3, the man developed symptoms and went to Saint Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco.
Polis said the man was later taken via private vehicle to a hospital in the Denver metro area so he could be at a lower elevation.
The man is in isolation and will remain there until cleared by public health officials.
Officials did not say which hospital in the Denver area he is receiving treatment at, but it is in Jefferson County.

If society collapses because everyones dying of the plague, finding clean toilet paper will be the least of your worries. I'd rather be dead of plague than have to live in some post apocalyptic hellscape with militarized zones, and gangs of looters and rapists led by a guy who wraps himself in toilet paper to show off his status. Nice videogame, bad real life scenario.

If my parents get it, or hell, even if healthcare takes a bad turn and they can't get their medication, they have a good chance of being donezo. I'm trying to look at the positive side of things, but jeez this is starting to get me antsy. My parents both smoked, my father still does.

If I were part of the Trump administration, I'd suggest using such a situation as a way to gain Eastern influence in NK by supplying NK with food in place of China when the inevitable happens. On the one hand, he'd be saving millions of lives from an oncoming famine and on the other hand, it would bring NK under the U.S.' wing and lose an ally for China.

Use common sense. Wash hands, try to avoid crowds, pay attention to your body.

For my part, am not freaking out, and am much more at risk for this due to age and health issues than most here. I'll be out there tomorrow morning doing my walk. I have a life to live. So do you.
