The things people choose to panic buy are a real head-scratcher.
People have cleared the shelves of sliced bread and flour, but left those "bake at home" pre-made rolls behind. There's no canned tomatoes anywhere, but you can get huge bags of regular ol' greenhouse tomatoes, and if you're worried about them spoiling before you eat them, it's easy to cook them into a tomato sauce and freeze it. I got my regular week's groceries with a minimal amount of weird substitution needed.

Indeed. Saturday at the commissary....same thing. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, but runs on a lot of canned vegetables. Yeah, was able to get everything needed. Luckily we didn't need that much.

I think out of everything my favourite has to be flour, as if most people these days know how to make bread. The supermarkets here have suspended their "change of mind" returns policy, after some people realised they'd bought way too much of the wrong things and wanted to return it, but it can't be re-sold now because even if it was in saleable condition, who wants packages that have been out into a plague-pit and then brought back - Coles and Woolworths aren't taking that risk. I like to imagine some fat, confused looking millennial eating spoonful after spoonful of plain flour with tears running down their face.

Anyone else who is in reasonable health and not that old kind of wish to just get it and have it over with? If it's really just like a flu - well that's very unpleasant but to go through and then be immune and also not have to worry about it afterwards would be kind of nice.

Not that I intend to do anything to unnecessarily risk getting it but it's been on my mind. If everyone is going to get it in the end anyway and vaccines are a year away.
