I really don't want to agree with this ... But I do. The fact that Trump is pummeled with questions every day by the press about him saying "Chinese Corona Virus" just proves to me where their fucked up priorities are.
Some people have suggested them acting like woke shitheads is a coping mechanism. Everything's falling apart, we're about to enter a new paradigm in which we simply aren't going to have the energy and societal capital to pretend to give a shit about woke politics and shit like "genderfluid" troons demanding we use an app to keep track of their pronouns.
This is similar to how in 2018 or so they started realizing that their woke shit wasn't resonating as much as it used to, so they started repeating it louder and more often. The ride is over, the pendulum was already swinging back but now is getting a huge push because of this. And on some level, the radical lefties know it.
The world is changing around them, their progressive pseudo-religion isn't important to 92% of the West, and they're about to discover people are going to toss pandering to their stupidity aside the second real shit goes down. We were able to put up with their dumbfuck bullshit about a "gender spectrum" or "racial microaggressions" because life was easy from 2005 to 2020 or so. But life is about to get significantly harder for most of us.
But another big part of it? It's that these shitheads still see Trump as the bigger threat than a deadly pandemic. They see them losing their power, and globalist progressivism collapsing as unsustainable as a bigger threat than a virus that, best case scenario, kills 3% of the population, a number that rapidly rises to 20%+ if our healthcare system gets overloaded, not counting knock on effects which will drive it even higher.
They'd rather we all die of the Chink Cough than admit they were wrong, or god forbid, that Trump was
right.
Even if there's a vaccine that comes out tomorrow -- there won't be -- and "cures" everyone over the course of the next few weeks / months... The economy's done for the next few years. Absolutely done. Our supply chains are effectively gone. It's going to take years to move shit out of China and into other countries, even presuming China and the other countries aren't collapsing inwards because of this shit hitting them even harder than us. Everything's going to cost more, and there won't be near as much of it.
And I fully expect China to do ANYTHING they can to prevent companies from leaving, up to and including just stealing whole companies' factories and the like and releasing official Chinese knockoffs of their products. Hell, I half expect them to do something REALLY Chinese, like start explaining that they totally always owed Vietnam -- sorry, "Little China" -- and will be moving troops in to protect the "Little Chinese" from US aggression.
They're saying the airlines are going to be bankrupt by May without ANOTHER bailout, just for them. I hate to see what the forecasts look like for other industries, but I imagine it's all pretty fucking similarly bad.
. These are not the responses of a bad chest cold. These are the responses of something that is "oh fuck, hope you were in your bunker already" levels of bad.
