Does the "dogs dying from virus" have any merit? I'm seeing a lot of these but something tells me it's a dog just happened to lick a face of someone infected, not the virus itself infecting the dog, and the dog dying from other causes.

From what I've read it looks like they are either immune or asymptomatic. They can probably pass it to you but I havent seen any evidence of canine deaths.

This is one of the most striking things to me. It kind of feels like post-9/11. Everyone is getting together (by standing apart) to get together. Good American values, feels special. Americans are actually pretty good at this sort of thing, although we've been spared a lot of really serious disasters on a national scale (smaller regional ones happen all the time though with storms etc. leading some people to be better prepared mentally and materially.) I feel like apart from people who are naturally anxious (including a few family members of mine) and/or who sperg about whatever the news says, who are freaking out a bit and occasionally you see someone kind of snap, but generally people are being good to each other. It's a good feel. If it lasts, any attempt to smack Trump with the coronavirus will backfire spectacularly.

I was in a long line today (OK, the pot shop ... was open but the line has been insane recently, people are stocking up...but talking about a fucking recession-proof business, they are making money hand over fist) and some sperg and/or intoxicated person was in line after me. He kept breaking social distancing and getting up in my face even touching my shoulder at one point, talking about all sorts of crazy shit including the "program" he was in (mental illness or substance abuse, idk.) I just kind of turned my back and ignored him which, being a sperg, he didn't get very quickly. Then they called for the last group of people before making people get appointments like an hour and a half later. I turn around and the sperg, who, remember, was behind me in line had jumped ahead of me and that was the cut-off. I was trying to shun him and not catch the coronavirus from him but he wound up seeing an opportunity to sneak in ahead of me. Back to my first point, this was the first dickish behavior I've seen lately apart from a Negress bellowing at some poor customer service agent, which is common enough to forget about. People in general are being extra nice, even people working the register and shit who are usually fairly sullen.

We need a disaster to become a polite society. Maybe the accelerationists are right about that in a way. Either that, or we are all experiencing the joy that comes with the blessing of Papa Nurgle.

Nurgle was always the best god anyway. I say he can take us all. Certainly better than that sick fuck tzeentch.

Considering the standard measurement is milligram, i.e 1/1000th of a gram, yes. Standard dose of Chloroquine is 1 gram for the first day then another gram spread out over 2 more days. Nowhere near 2 grams all at once.

Yes. Look at paracetamol. 1000mg (1g) 4x a day so 4g In a day therapeutic dose. 7g will kill a lot of adults.
Pretty much every drug in the market will do you a lot of harm if you take more of it than you should.

Is it a positive test? Is it a positive test + fever? Is it a hospital admission? Is it a presumed positive based on symptoms?

A "case" is someone who is confirmed infected with coronavirus. Of course with the US lagging so far behind in testing the results will be skewed towards those in more serious condition, but anyone swabbed and found to be carrying the disease is listed as a case.

The quarantines seem to be doing much better than I expected. I thought that even if this was Black Death 2 it wouldn't matter because quarantines would be so porous that everybody would get it anyways. But the countries that are using it seem to have seen effects compared to the ones that didn't.

You know what we need? A subsidy for self-isolation. No idea how it would be implemented (probably too impractical) but since self-isolation produces a positive externality, it's appropriate to have a Pigouvian subsidy for it, like a tax rebate that you waive if you go out in public.
