God wanted an easy playthrough this time.
Who knew casual was the realistic mode. Its right about now they start upping the death rate.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." T
ANTI-SEMITIC!!!! THE REAL PHRASE IS "Ask what your country can do for israel"

A lot of you guys who's only experience urban blight is via Worldstar videos and /pol/ memes are saying some variation of "When them big city sambos gonna start chimping out? When them crazy nigs gonna burn down Compton?" But as long as government benefits are fulfilled, and store aren't completely raided, urban blacks and minorities are going to stay in doors like everyone else, or at the very least stay in their own hoods like they usually do.

The biggest issue is going to be homeless. Almost all Westcoast cities have a massive homeless population. A lot of them live on handouts. With the potential well of people who throw in a couple bucks into their begging cups almost all dried up, I can see them turning into those monkeys in Thailand, fighting over scraps. They also travel a lot, on buses or trains. They may make their way to states with less harsh quarantine measures.

I'm also waiting for the first death, the first death from someone who violated curfew and was had it out with police, because it is going to happen.

Actually I think that urban blacks (the poorer kind) might do quite well. The "Black community" has a serious problem with violence, especially at random targets. Gangs are a reality in a lot of urban areas and no matter what their "race," people who live in high-risk areas have a habit of "sheltering in place" (without being familiar with the term, or mandate) when they get word that the shit is going to hit the fan. Or they sense something is off, they will also "shelter in place."

Frankly I think that the Karens and their priveliged Boomer relatives are more concerning. If you have never seen any hardship (the hunker down type or the you are going to lose everything if you even blink type) then it is easy to have faith in a System that never failed you in the past.

So I have the sense that the urban poor might have better coping strategies, which will work in their favor.

Seems like the transpeople have it the worst during this outbreak.

Yes, it can.

The purpose of this push is to stop anxiety-riddled preppers from killing their kids with it.
I think you're ascribing to them benevolent intentions they never really had. They pushed multiple articles within a couple days consequently presenting chloroquine as "Trump's drug" and trying to discredit its use. I mean, they might accidentally happen to be right, but that doesn't make the whole thing any less petty.

So from reading this we should just blow the bridges and tunnels and turn NYC into a Leper Colony? It's probably for the best.

No. As far as "cities doing city things" go, NYC is one of the most awesome places on the planet. Nothing else holds a candle to it.

If you want to spend your life surfing or tanning, marvel at beautiful animals, or wake up to tended fields and neighbors who know you, those are different conversations, entirely.

Welp, I finally got off. Can't say I'm surprised though, because my mum is still at work, but only for the mornings to check the mail.

Oh fuck off. I had a surgery consultation planned as well that was important, but I can't complain when people's lives are on the line. SJWs are so into being "empaths" until something doesn't go their way.

My daughter had surgery scheduled, got cancelled. She went "Welp, probably not a time to have surgery anyway" and is going on with her life. You know, like a normal person.

Fucking troons can't stand not being the center of attention and catered to over everyone else.

Flea man reporting: I am in the Southeast US and work in a grocery store. Things seem strangely normal here; our area has not been affected heavily. Still people are panic buying the shit out of potatoes and cabbage especially (lots of boomers here) Of course my store is almost completely out of TP most of the time, or there is a limit of 2 per person. Otherwise our store is well-stocked. Other items that are low are disinfectents and powdered milk.
Other things that have changed:
Old people wearing masks
A few (very very few) people obsessively sanitizing their shopping carts before and during shopping, and using gloves to bag their groceries.
Everyone seems bemused about the tp situation but obviously someone is buying it all!
I am not getting hazard pay but am getting more hours than usual ( I am part-time ). I can't say the work is any harder than it would be since sometimes our stock is empty and there is nothing to do but clean or help bag groceries. My health is well except for just being worn out from work.
Bars serving mainly alcohol have been closed and most places are drive-through only, however a few fast food places, restaurants, and the bakery down the street are still open inside. Overall no one is even close to panicking here. Here's hoping our little corner of the world stays outside the main swatch of the pandemic's path.
Stay safe Kiwis. Flea man out

So someone already posted that Italy had 627 deaths today. I think that its's fucking horrifying, they shut down almost everything already, and yet the deaths still keep climbing. One death every 2 minutes almost. And yet, many Europeans still don't take this virus seriously... Sorry, but this isn't just the flu, bro and you should stop going out.

Trying not to sound like one of those posters with the "my brothers moms sisters friend" stories and trying not to say too much about myself in fear of excess powerleveling, but the person I talk everyday IRL to, who works in a hospital (NYC) said they ran out of space in their morgue so they're using the fucking supplies area to put bodies in, and that the hospital isn't reporting as many deaths as they should be because of this. They're just putting them in some water storage area, but it's still really gross. That'll get people sick, that's for sure.

Also speaking of the bullshit stories where are people getting the "MY FBI FRIEND SAID U.S IS SHUTTING DOWN!!! ALL BANKS ARE CLOSING FOREVER!!!!" news from? Just had a relative spew this nonsense to me and I asked from where and he said from his aunt's FBI friend, sounding like fuckass and that other poster.

It’s hard to gauge the report without more info. It really will depend on the NYC hospital. Some of their morgues are actually quite small and can backup into the hallway or store room on a rough Saturday night.

They should sublet a commercial meat cooler in an industrial area. Since restaurants are more or less closed, Buffalo Bill's Barbeque probably won't be using it. Chances are, they won't be opening up until the body count goes down.

Just sanitize the place when they are done. Refrigerated fresh corpses in bags can't hurt you really unless it is like Ebola or some freaky bacterial thing.

Why do I think I hear a /pol/ shitposter out there giggling to himself? Thanks dude. Way to spook the herd.

Yah, I'm from the FBI, deleting kernel 32 will rid you of your virus...

Might as well just say it anyway cause I feel stupid now doing the same shit I'm calling out people for lmao
Jacobi Medical Center, their morgue seems decently sized? From when I've visited on campus anyway.

I'm hearing from certain suburban areas that wandering zombies are making their way out into the neighborhoods. So far they're able to be turned away, but it's going to be interesting when they start squatting in places and people can't get the PD to be bothered to take care of it. We'll be in a weird quasi-state of normalcy. Can't really evict someone with force, lest you get beat down by the law or sued into oblivion, but you can't count on good ol' .gov to help you all that much.

I'm really worried about what happens when the flow of illicit drugs and such tapers off with a border closure. If my methhead cousin is willing to rob us blind in peacetime for a bag of oxy, how bad will it be when every addict goes dry?
