Definitely not Dynamite. While they make most of their money on licenses like IDW, they’ve proven to be willing to focus on what sells (i.e. quality and sex appeal). Even going so far as to let EVS, Billy Tucci, and Dan Fraga make overpriced variants for their books. Of all the indies out there Dynamite is ready and willing to adapt, and I hope they get the support they deserve for it.

I don't deny Dynamite has made some good decisions recently, but I was referencing the current economic damage being done by Coronachan. Really all the smaller publishers are in deep trouble, they don't have parent companies like AT&T and Disney to pad their wallets. Even if Disney and AT&T get into trouble they are more likely to secure a government bailout than some lesser known publisher like Dark Horse or Dynamite.

The Corona-virus will be the big thing that decimates these companies going forward. Comic shops remain closed, Diamond is in deep trouble, consumers are losing their jobs and discretionary income is probably being hoarded for essentials. It ultimately doesn't matter that Dynamite has made the right choices regarding woke-shit, if they can't get their books into stores or if people are hesitant to waste money on non-essential items during a time of crisis.

Thats my view anyway.

Their comic division definitely won't save them when anything not TMNT can barely make it to 15k units consistently. A shame that Sonic doesn't sell well. I swear I've seen full page ads in DC floppies from the 1970s advertising this exact thing. (In between the Daisy BB Guns, magic shrimp kingdom, and the Army guys...the ads are at least as fascinating as the rest of the book at this point, but I digress) Three or four panels of a kid trying find an issue of whatever at his "local news stand" (IIRC which were on their way out even then), being disappointed when it was not available, and Superman flying in to offer mail order delivery so you never miss a thing. Then a full page order form on the facing page, with issues to check. So I guess two full pages.

I guess the rise of the LCS ended this sort of thing, but they did it once upon a time, pre-internet. Are shipping costs on relative basis that much higher than they were back then, perhaps?

I did a quick check. Dynamite, Boom and IDW all have online stores. I guess the only issue is that you have to be selling things people want. I have to give it to Dynamite again though, they even have signed editions of their stuff on their website.

Also, I checked Image’s website. If you click the “buy” option, all it does is redirect you to Amazon and Comixology.

The problem with mail order subscriptions is you pay for a certain number of issues ahead of time then hope the book doesn't get cancelled because then they send you whatever woke-shit they have on the back burner that is selling horribly.
This is what happened in the early to mid 00's with mail order subs. People subbed for Avengers only to end up with fantastic four or whatever else Marvel chose to send.
IDW is IP rich and sales poor. Their only hope is acquiring more IP -like Scrooge or ducktales- that are drawn in Europe and have a fairly good chance of selling as trades. They can only dig their grave deeper at this point in Hope's theres light at the other end.
As for lion forge lmao. Poor gail. It was doomed from the start Corona only gave it the final push it needed to die off. We'll see a lot of small publishers that rely on only a handful of books croak in the same fashion.

It didn't help that IDW's higher ups decided that the IPs they had could be nuked by people who hate the IP and they'd still have the whales paypig for them regardless of how shitty and propagandistic they became.
