United Nations wants 10% of entire planet’s annual income in fund for coronavirus response
Hah! Joke's on them! We all got fired! What's 10% of zero?

Definitely scratching my head at the decision to just up and relieve him from Duty post haste. It's going to make the investigation into this a shit show. Not a good look for the navy.
As others have been pointing out, the military is likely at high alert re: China behind the scenes right now in case they take further military advantage of the worldwide chaos sewn by their bioweapon. The issue isn't protecting sailors, it's that the higher-ups have done a calculus on what China might do in response to the absolute state of a Navy plague ship.

Sad thing is, I feel like any other modern president besides Trump would actually go along with it.
Oh, President Hillary would have been thanking Beijing for the lovely plague they sent.

Then don't issue a press release and act like you're going to do something that youaren't. What's the point? This isn't the time to score public relation points.
I'm sorry, I was under the impression that it was doing things just not at the speed people wanted because they don't fire more than 2 neurons at a time. Thank you for clarifying that it hasn't done anything yet. Or maybe, in order to not fuck things up and contaminate a major navy asset and render it useless for an extended period of time they are taking extra precautions. I might just be firing too many neurons though. I should be thinking at your level. Precaution bad, haste good.

I don't blame the military for being prepared, but is China really retarted enough to try something right now? You can bet they're still deeper in chaos than anyone, even if they won't release the numbers.

Probably not.

But I can imagine a scenario where they look at new economic and political realities going forward and decide they need to just grab a little piece of this or that somewhere similarly to the way Russia took Crimea. The same logic we use to say they won't be crazy enough to do it tells us we shouldn't be crazy enough to try and stop them if they do.

What the fuck is this? This faggot needs WOYMIN on the panel too? Bro, they are asking you to speak because they want your input. If they thought someone with a slit was qualified they would have asked them.

We need more plague still. Turn it up and rid the county of these clowns.

EDIT: Creeping through the replies and this dude is a beta faggot.

In other news, due to the lockdown, upscale/high-end restaurants and even fast food chains that closed down are now going to sell their stock in their freezers as pre-cooked food at very low prices. This is to earn some revenue and prevent the spoiling of food in the freezers

ah, du30, is there any problem you won't shoot?
with the current situation, its better to shoot them all dead. commie fucks deserve no mercy

Yeah so if your pretty boats aren't set up to function during a pandemic then don't send them out to cities that are experiencing, you know, a shitload of sick patients who need treatment during a pandemic. From what I hear the Navy has its own issues with sailors coming down with bat flu so maybe this precious major Navy asset should have been utilized to treat sick Navy sailors.

Exactly. Adventurism is a bad idea if you're a hegemonic power like the US. If you're an upstart dictatorship with a long list of historical grievances like Russia or China now, or Germany or Japan in the 1930s. your whole raison d'etre is that 'We're waiting for a chance to take down the existing international order run by decadent societies and replace it with one more favorable to ourselves'.

Ceterum censeo, Beijing delenda est.

Go back a few pages. There was some great discussions regarding the positions China is in, internally and externally. At how there House ofCards is starting to collapse, and this might be the time for them to use it before they lose it. China is acting like an authoritarian nation preparing for war. They have a 20% surplus of unmariable men. Are facing a population inversion where they have more old people then young people to care for them Within the next 10 years. And their economy is about to enter free fall, with no jobs for all the state created incels. We should probably believe them as they start saber rattling.

Damn, I wish I could buy a six month supply of frozen Jolibees garbage on the cheap.

Lots of autistic freak out going on itt. It's a good time to remember your stimming rituals.

But nah, I understand, my point of freak-out was maybe a week or two ago. I'm not anymore. You simply can't and won't stay in the state of panic for weeks. It's psychologically impossible. You amis will eventually calm down and get used to the new normal too. Also the panic buying in your shops will stop too as this virus is literally not able to interrupt supply lines by killing off/incapacitating enough people, so calm down a bit. If things get bad, it'll take months for them to.

From what I've seen, it sounds like Detroit is also going to eat shit hard over this outbreak. Any Motor City Kiwis here that can confirm this?

I'm not in the Motor City but someone close to me is in the hospital there with the coof. Said person is of boomer age and not in the best of health but given Chloro (not sure if its with Zithromax or not) and so far said person is feeling better, but still hospitalized. Said person wants to go home so I see that as a good sign.

Not PLing is awkward af sometimes.

Imagine expecting peacetime senior officers to be competent.

It happens to every country but America seems to be the worst at not just promoting people based on seniority. It`s a miracle that you even had somebody like Schwarzkopf for the Gulf War.

Have you looked at what passes for the German Military these days? And even that pales in comparison to the Norwegian Navy, in which 20% of the fleet was sunk because the 5 young ladies in command could not make a command decision as to whether they should maybe turn the boat to avoid collision. (Granted the US Navy did attempt to mirror this by bouncing a ship off a freighter because the female officer in charge of the CiC was not on speaking terms with the female officer in charge of the bridge.) I’m actually somewhat heartened by the fact that after a long extended period of doing naught but LGBTQ Basket Weaving, the British Military seems to finally be remembering what it’s there for, and starting to look like it’s old self again.
