after a thorough double-blind analysis of all sides of this situation for the preceding month i can confirm that, after 4 months of dealing with this, there is still nobody that has any fucking clue how bad this actually is and what the appropriate response should be, nor how long it will last and what the economic, social, and political consequences of this in both short- and long-term will be.
thank you for your cooperation and have a nice day.
Countries that prepared still had it bad and some that didn't give a fuck had it easy, and vice versa.

Only thing to take from all this is quit smoking and drop the sodas.

Cigs and sodas, man.

Stopped drinking sodas as a regular sort of drink a long time ago. Now they're a treat, something I have to earn. Has helped immensely. I fill that hole with water now and never looked back. Also I really can't complain about the bi-annual kidney stone going away. Fuck kidney stones.

WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made a terrorist threat against United States of America. Tedros, who is not even a real doctor, is head of WHO, and he was instrumental in getting the world infected on behest of his masters in China.

tedros_threat.png

Today Tedros went on camera and threatened people, who have been demanding his removal with "more body bags". Why is this terrorist already not in Guantanamo, getting his nipples electrocuted?

Everything connected to the UN is utterly useless for humanity.

If you fancy joining us in the cool kids club we'll sign a nice trade deal with no political bullshit added....

Indeed. Stay in the EU and get domestic policies forced on you in return for tariff-free trade. Leave the EU and you get don't get policies forced on. Sure you need to comply with the rules of any country or region you export to, but that doesn't mean you need to comply with their rules for domestic stuff any more than exporting to the US means you need to accept US rules domestically. You just need to make sure your exports are US approved. And even there mutual recognition can help a lot. E.g. if something is approved in one country and you have mutual recognition, it's approved in the other. This works for New Zealand and Australia and it will work for the US and UK in the future.

At this point why not do mutual recognition with Spain and Italy. Sure the standards there are different, and probably laxer than those in the UK, but I think you should leave it up to the consumer. If you want to buy Spanish and Italian stuff you're presumably happy to trust their standards. Caveat emptor applies. Having EU wide standards didn't stop us from eating horse lasagne. What they did do is stop us from banning the import of beef from countries involved in the scandal.

I suspect we're going to start dumping the Imperial College's idiots as they can't apparently model shit. The "peak" of this last modelled was April 5th with about 500 deaths a day. Today 938 people died from the Chinese Virus.

Looks like it's going to be harsh.

Modeling the future of a complex system has always been more politics than science. You set the assumptions of the model to whatever you need to do to get the result you need to advocate for the policies you think are right.

Wow, they've only just got round to cleaning Number 10? That's... worrying, to say the least.
:stress:

The UK government is probably in complete turmoil at the moment. Incidentally, Farage is live on FB now.

New York, you say? That's really interesting that you've used that in your clip, CBS, considering that this hospital you're showing in your video is actually in fucking Italy (source video) What a fantastic coincidence that this hospital in New York looks exactly like a hospital in Italy, right down to patients who all look and dress exactly the same as the Italian hospital patients.

I'm sure that you're not intentionally putting misinformation designed to frighten people with the conditions from the main hospital in Bergamo, the hardest-hit hospital in the country, in the hardest-hit town in the hardest-hit province of Lombardy, Italy without making any mention of the fact that you did this.

No, no. It can't possibly be that you're lying to people. I hate the fucking media.

LYING.jpg

CBS got their shit slapped for trying to pass that hospital in Italy off as a hospital in New York. They just put out another video today, trying to pass the same fucking footage as footage from Pennsylvania. One time wasn't enough, huh? How many more times are you going to "accidentally" jam this footage into completely unrelated stories?

It just shows the rot behind the European project. Spain and Italy absolutely fucked and almost no one helping. It’s no wonder we wanted out. Not once during this whole crisis have I heard anyone, on either side of the leave/remain thing say that things would be better if we’d stayed in Europe. Brexit is now a non issue in the press.
They are realising that we can manage just fine and that the purported ‘all one big happy bloc all in it together’ is absolute bollocks. Stories of various countries swooping in to buy masks and taking them off others as well. It just shows what a shit show it all is. Nationalism get a bad press, sometimes deservedly, but nations need to look out for their own people while not fucking over others.

No, europhile campaigner and occasional journalist Adam Boulton from Sky made a good show of it today by asking if Brexit should carry on due to the pandemic. Sunak replied very well, basically saying that we've already left the EU and are still in transition. Negotiations are still ongoing after both Barnier and Frost have had the disease themselves. The April-May timetable is to be agreed later this week, with a draft trade agreement likely to be published by the end of this month. The negotiations are still ongoing, just everyone's understandably busy. John Bercow resurfaced recently too to say he'd help extend the transition period any way he could, quite forgetting he's an irrelevant fuckwit.

their model is crap. All the models are crap though. We still do t have an accurate rO even.
The inputs we need aren’t defined so nobody is able to model well. Imagine you test for active infection and you find five percent of people infected. Where are you in the epidemic’s progress? Is that five percent infected and 95% still vulnerable. Or is it five percent infected with 75% immune already? Or less, or more? Each result gives you vastly different outcomes.
Eyeballing it and gut feeling: I reckon UK could hit a few days with 1700-2300 deaths. Hopefully not too much higher, but it’s possible if you’ve had things like a bunch of nursing homes infected in a similar period. If we are very, very lucky it’ll trundle along at around 1k a day for a week or three then start to tail off gradually. It is going to be harsh.

Sadly I suspect you're right. Swine flu was a near miss, so seeing a much worse disease play out like this is morbidly fascinating. Two have died on the estate I live on that we know of from the coof. One however decided post-lockdown to fuck off in their caravan for a weekend so.... yeah.

Some more 5g conspiracy. Too bad about Cusack, but then I never thought actors had anymore sense than your average bear.

Those 5g activists are good and pure and only want to save your life by having you pay hundreds of dollars for their snake oil.

Today on DeWine Ball Z, the prisons are still festering hives of disease and DeWine takes a walk with Tim Cook on a farm.

Apple is giving Ohio masks. Hopefully they won't remove any useful features masks have had since the beginning of masks.

Fundamentally these people are lazy and treat all this stuff as "stock footage". The real funny one is the missile sound effect. You'll find it dropped into a lot of reports about the middle east, just some flavoring of the report.

Well, that's a REAL good way to make sure President Trump greatly reduces or cuts out US funding to the WHO.

Earlier this morning walked to Wal-Mart. Noticed city bus passing me, destination sign saying "Essential Travel Only". So apparently if the bus driver doesn't believe your travel is essential, no bus ride for you. Just another tightening of our area's house arrest. Of course, the people who have dreamed up this house arrest, restrictions, etc., never take public transportation. In their minds, public transportation is just for us animals.

Got to Walmart. Noticed carts on their sides, tied up and forming a channel for shoppers to enter. Since it was fairly early, nobody in line. Walked in, saw employee making a notation on a tablet.

Lots of water, in more than one place in the store. More paper products than before, saw toilet paper, paper towels, and some tissues, but not the type I wanted. Good supplies of eggs and fresh poultry. Only fair supplies of fresh pork, fresh beef, and milk. Shortage of dairy products. Still a shortage of many frozen items. Produce good, bread good, but I didn't look real hard at the bread. None of my favorite Outshine bars. I didn't buy anything. As I walked out the exit noticed employee making a click on a counter. I walked home. Just a short walk today, had things to do.

Not exactly re the ChiCom Flu, but an example of how Amazon does business.

Ordered a reprint of a particular book from Amazon. Just got an email from Amazon saying my order was cancelled due to lack of supply. Went to Abebooks. Found many volumes of this book. Paid about 50% more than I paid on Amazon, still less than $20. Abebooks is owned by...Amazon. Makes you wonder.

The FBI has arrested a man after he allegedly posted a threat on Facebook, claiming he paid someone to spread coronavirus at local grocery stores.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Christopher Charles Perez, 39, posted the threat on the social media site because 'he was trying to deter people from visiting the stores, purportedly in order to prevent the spread of the virus.'

As if the FBI doesn't have enough to do.

Okay so all day I've had the song Destination Moon by They Might Be Giants stuck in my head.
Nobody tell the Qanons and other tin foil hatters about the lyrics to that. lol They'll go off the rails.

Don't bother to call this room
There's nobody here who can pick up
Or has stuff they need to talk about
And who won't be now
Checking out and flying

By rocket to the moon
By airplane to the rocket
By taxi to the airport
By front door to the taxi
By throwing back the blanket
Hanging down the legs

Thank you for the card with the cartoon nurse
But you see there's nothing wrong with me
You think, "That's what you think."
"That's what they all say, "
Before I blow you away

By rocket to the moon
By airplane to the rocket
By taxi to the airport
By front door to the taxi
By throwing back the blanket
Hanging down the legs

Soon the man who sweeps the room
Brings the secret telegram,
"Commence official interplanetary exploration"
Thank you for the card with the cartoon nurse
But you see there's nothing wrong with me
You think, "That's what you think."
"That's what they all say, "
Before I blow you away

By rocket to the moon
By airplane to the rocket
By taxi to the airport
By front door to the taxi
By throwing back the blanket
Hanging down the legs

By rocket to the moon
Crawl to the rocket
By coughing at the airport
By limping to the taxi
By throwing back the blanket
Hanging down the withered leg

Not much to report from Poland today other than new numbers: 357 new cases, 30 deaths, 31 recoveries. Guess we're entering the phase when many old folks pass away after a struggle, but things are still very manageable.

I only today heard that New Yorkers almost universally approve how their overlord is handling the current events. Think they change their minds any time soon?
