I just watched Jay's latest video and this is... impressive. The sad, overworked, 12 hours a day 7 days a week Yanderedev who is doing his very best to finetune the game and make it worthy of introducing Osana... not only has the time to introduce an Alphabet Killer mode but also tweak it for greater playability. What he is effectively doing is giving up on the main game to program a different game. Between this and Mission Mode, it makes you wonder how much he cares about actually finishing the game except not really, it's clear he's milking this for as long as he can.

What I do wonder is why he's suddenly so concerned with the alphabet killer challenge. Is he worried with the game getting less exposure, so he's shoehorning this in to bring it back to the attention of the few youtubers who still care?

He's always been concerned about attention.

Another bug fix build. Guess Alex is trying to step up his game now (hopefully?)

Meanwhile in the subreddit, there's tons of censorship going on and few threads got removed (we're not even talking about how unfunny spam speedrun threads like "LOL CUM CHALICE XD" got rightfully removed, we're actually talking about actual critique getting removed)

I garuntee he read every one of those replies and individually deleted them, that shows how much of a adult day care autist he is over critique

Honestly, the discussion around snap mode to me is pretty strange. Who cares if the feature is good, bad, unrealistic, etc? It's superfluous. It adds nothing to the overall objective of the game. It's another 'feature' Alex has added to give the game the appearance of development.

It's crazy that the challenge runs of the game are more complete than the main game itself. To use Alex's comparison, imagine buying a Hitman game to find there was more content in the challenges than in the story mode or missions.

I got a hitman style murder mission to work in unity by using nothing but triggers and having them parented to specific objects.

Line of sight, enemy behavior, and timed pathing are regulated to very easy to use assets that are in the 2019 platformer pack and the 2019 Adventure game pack which they give out for free. You can screw with the pre-made assets and change how they act relatively easily. There's also stuff for ranged combat and melee combat as well as a functioning inventory.

Sum total of time was 4 days.

Yeah but does it have memorable anime designs and amazing lore about mythical yandere bloodlines and uber-rich families who make every piece of tech ever? Didn't think so.

Lore comes after the base mechanics are done and you have like 1-2 levels working so you can do things in an established pipeline.

I dunno why people are hyping the new Adobe 3d modeling program. Blender can do sculpting arguably better, but every single sculpt is like a billion polys so you need to make normal maps for a lower poly model which maya is the best at for redoing the topology with anchor points. So you can make a low poly model of you high poly sculpt and then just apply the textures.

Probably because it was a teased feature since the days YS was relevant and in its prime.

Absolutely. Imagine still being a fan and checking in on Dev sometimes, only to find that the feature that's been there since you first started liking the game is more boring shit Alex padded the game out with to extend development time.

This isn't the first time he's talked about trying to update to a new version of unity is it? "Whoops, sorry guys. A lot of features didn't transfer right to the new version of unity, Osana is delayed again."

It brings to mind another game that kept getting delayed time and again because the dev team couldn't just buckle down and work with what they had instead of watching what everyone else was doing and trying to up the bar based on that. Always bet on Duke YandreDev, right?

It seems to me like something that a competent dev would put into a DLC pack with other additions to the game after it was already released. Same with a bunch of other shit he's sidetracked on. It might be good content, but it's not good content if it stops the game from ever releasing.

It's funny how it's not even him who is doing the majority of the work of porting the game from Unity 2017 to 2019, but a volunteer. Well, at least he was honest on the matter. Even better, most of the bug fixes he listed are effortless ones that are caused by heavy spaghetage, or stupid additions, like the roombas opening doors.

Alex, you should be fixing all the rendering crap that is caused by your nonsensical espaguetis and ensure the "game" runs well first, only then make the "game" look nice. Adding grass to a "game" that already runs like ass even on high-end PCs is a big fucking nope. You're still doing the opposite, trying to make the spaghet look edible by strewing a ton of oregano on it and throwing some bad quality meatballs at it.

Edit:
And of fucking course, to no one's surprise, he added Corona-chan to the game.

(it's a literal re-skin of Ebola-chan)
Of course he did it, it's fucking Alex we're talking about. There are thousands of people dying and even more people losing jobs, all their income or even status cuz of this pandemic, and he thinks it's fucking funny and adds it as an easter egg. Fuck now I'm angry.

Mommy and Daddy sheltered him and never taught him the fact that he needs to look out for others. He probably doesn't give a flying fuck about the virus and its impact since he stays at home 24/7 all the time anyways and has tards on Patreon giving him free money.

Hi guys, I got some interest in this weirdo again after months of forgetting about him again. Did somebody ever try to list up all the income this guy made with his patreon and streaming of the back of his never-be-finished Opus Magnum?

I wish I could be surprised by this. I really do. Ebola chan felt in poor taste when it was implimented. And now "Corona-chan"? The Ebola scare at least went away fairly quickly, but Corona is predicted to last another two or three months as they're still working on a cure, and that's if the one they're working on now is a success. Such poor taste...and the reskin doesn't even look that good...
