all the boomers were mocking Best Week Ever when it came out in 2004 because "why do we need to spend 20 minutes recapping all the internet culture from the past week"
but seriously, every year of the 2010s could have an 18 hour recap, and we would barely scratch the surface. 20 minutes to talk about all the shit that happened this month seems like it wouldn't even be enough. plus the announcer was awesome and hearing him go "Dramatic Chipmunk You're having The Best Week Ever" was one of my favorite things,
Of course hearing some shithead New York comic's hot takes on everything doesn't sound that appealing nowadays, but the format was on point.

1) Most of the staff I interact with live miles out the way in a different city within a different county and commute into Pillockshire to work at the hospital.
2) I have PV, and blood pressure issues. So can't really be running around out there grabbing random shit for people who do this work and massively increase my risk.
3) Fuck your spouse for such an unreasonable request as asking people to fucking wipe him down with bleach when there's a deadly pandemic about and those folks won't have fucking PPE to protect themselves while wiping their arse down.
4) NHS staff get an hour in most supermarkets all to themselves now as a thanks from the supermarkets and give them a chance to get their vitally needed household supplies.
In fact I know most of the folks I'd just seen outside my house on my street clapping along have various health issues which put them at risk to the point they've all be staying home as much as fucking possible. I'm sure they'd love to help out getting supplies or other shit for the NHS as would I.
But we can't.
So I slam my fucking hands together instead for two minutes once a week with all my neighbours.
But it'll be for the staff I know. Not your cunt of a spouse.

If you buy your shelf stabilized (tinned, canned or dried) or frozen food, wipe down the outside of the container with alcohol or a bleach-based cleaner and then make sure you heat the food up enough to inactivate the virus you're probably pretty safe. Shelf stabilized or frozen food should hopefully have been treated in way that sterilized it and it seems like temperatures above 60°C should inactivate the virus. It's not that hard to make sure everything you eat has been exposed to 100°C actually - just make sure it boiled. It's hard to see a virus survive that. Even most bacteria would not.

Finally starting to see news articles of DeWine's latest speech. He chalks up the lower hospitalization rate and lower then expected hospital load on Ohio's embracing on social distancing, no mention of the flawed testing models the system was built on.
Also noted there was agressive protesting outside the building where the address was recorded today. Several dozens howed up, as opposed to the usual group of 3-4. Ohioans are starting to get a little restless. The total and utter lack of testing is an embarrassment. Other states are testing 10X what ohio is on a good day, and you can see it in dewine's face. He's trying to keep the peace, but he still doesnt have the data he needs to justify even longer shelter orders. Part of me believes that he doesnt want to keep this any longer then absolutely necessary, but we'll see what happens when/if he tries to extend the shelter order past may 1st. I'll give him credit for staying calm and not lashing out at any party while dealing with Corona, especially since he has expressed frustration at the lack of testing data, but perhaps a bit more aggressiveness on the lack of data may produce results.

At some point, these looting assholes won't be able to buy anything anywhere, and most likely every company that manifactures anything or any farmer that grows anything will have been looted and have their stuff vandalized as well. For a long time, I wondered why Africa, despite being so rich in resources, was such a giant shithole.
A significant part is the bullshit that western nations pull to rake in billions of dollars and raw materials, but the reason these western nations get away with it is this crab mentality amongst the population that ends up dragging everybody down to a level where living in a hut made of mud and donkey-poop is being part of the upper class.

1. Spouse is twat with a god complex. I also don’t determine when he comes home. I expect the fact it was during Clappy Hands Time was simply an unfortunate coincidence but there you are.
2. I want him (mostly) disinfected outside before he comes in and picks up the baby, because I have a basic duty to protect my kids. So I do the spraying and wiping and bagging the PPE shit. I handle the laundry anyway. Were you under the impression he was asking the neighbours? That would be fucking mental even for him.
3. You are exactly one of the people who other people should be making sure is OK and offering to help. You know I’m worried about you. I know you are self reliant but that doesn’t excuse other folk from reaching out if they can. Your street might be full of folks who are having to lay low, but mine and many others aren’t. And yes, I don’t like that those folks are equating putting a rainbow in their window with actually trying to help folk in danger stay home.
I’m shopping for three households right now, doing all the pharmacy runs as I can, boarding several dogs because their owners are working all the hours that god sends. I am doing all I can to keep my own folk safe and yet... I am surrounded by folk not doing a fucking thing to help look after the families and friends they are so worried about.
My neighbours are fucking quick enough to nip up to the door when they want an out of hours medical consultation, I tell you. It’s a free country, no one is stopping them virtue signalling, but let’s not equate clapping with doing something to support the vulnerable amongst those who are able to support the vulnerable.
I don’t say a damn thing to “take celebration away from people”. But I don’t have to think it’s wonderful and uplifting, either.

I asked the hospital staff and can now confirm Puerta del Mas has treated multiple cases of hand sanitizer related intoxications since the outbreak began. And at least one guy that, as the doctor described it, "basically turned his blood into anís" (a type of high grade liquor) cause he figured alcohol kills viri and just decided to drink what I can only guess was twice his bodymass in spirits.

I've had several good and close friends I consider like family offering to grab stuff for me and they're calling me usually once a week to see how I am or try and get me to join a game.
However, I have a Sainsbury's Local located quite literally behind my house up a single short alleyway or I can jump in the car and drive round to it in under 30 seconds. That covers any of the regular consumables. Anything else I go to at the crack of dawn (mostly meat from the local butchers) when nobody wants to be about.
Heck, my local just started a booze delivery service so I can enjoy tasty pints of craft beer again and get the first lot tomorrow.
tbh, my lockdown's going pretty sweet aside from not being able to see my dad and other half.

I miss my dad so fucking much. If he gets this shit it will kill him. He’s been on immunosuppressants my whole life. All I can do to try and help him is make him a gay facemask and bring him sweets along with the shopping and wave at him sadly through a window. I hate that I can’t do something that matters. And I’m shit scared for my siblings and my cousin because they are hospital consultants and my cousin‘s wife is pregnant and fuck this is all so lame.
But I have to keep my head level and my happy face on, so I curse my neighbours out anonymously on the internet like a bitch and that lets the steam off.
Also one of the cousin’s spaniels keeps trying to hump my leg and I’m pissed off about that as well
