Yeah, y'know what? As John Q. Public, I can't win. Plastic bags last forever/clog up landfills/hurt marine life/whatever. Paper bags kill trees, turn to deadly poison when they break down, cost more to make and transport. Reusable bags carry bugs. There is legitimately no choice to be made at the checkout that doesn't upset some environmentalist or other.

Fuck it. I give up. Just put all my groceries into this nice human-sized pine box I've got here and load it into the bed of this late-model pickup that gets 5 mpg and blows thick black smoke every time I give it any gas. No bags required. Happy now, hippies?

The goverment is trying to play it cool -we're in this together, a stronger Europe means a stronger Spain and vice versa, blahblah... but they aren't happy with this and it shows. Nobody is happy with this.

Back in the day, I was young and naive, I used to be kinda pro-EU. Now... well, fuck it. They can keep their shitty deals. Germany is doing great because countries like Spain and Italy are footing their bill with the interest rates of EU's economy rescues. The Euro wrecked south Europe economies beause that monopoly money was tailored to the north countries economies. The EU never gave a shit about us, we deluded ourselves it did.

A disturbing development. There are some things to consider:
1.) the early tests had a nasty false positive/negative rate. It is possible these people were diagnosed as positive when they didnt have it, or tested negative when they did have it.
2.) Herd immunity works by choking off diseases to new hosts via immunity. If not enough people are immune, herd immunity doesnt work and even if you are immune to a disease, you can still catch it if exposed to enough concentrated viral/bacterial load. This is where the quarantine may work against us, by spreading out infections by months, if immunity only lasts for a few months, we may only prolong the disease by reinfecting the first wave as their immunity begins to waver.
3.)These people may have immune systems that are not the best, and as a result they couldnt wipe out the virus fully and it was able to resurface when something like stress lowered their immune response. Wouldnt be the first time it happened, especially when you couple it with an active pandemic.

The fact its only been 51 people spread over 3 months still casts doubt over corona staying with you forever. Time will tell.

Except British Banks can't be replaced in a heartbeat. Indeed the issue with the City of London is it is many, many times larger than any other EU financial institution. Paris and Frankfurt don't even come close and the expected shift from London clearing houses to european centres like the above?

It's now up to 91 cases. Still too early to tell, but the fact that this is even a realistic option is not a good sign.

Maybe it's as good as they claim but I'm willing to bet that most outlets are using the cheapest, lowest quality material that don't have the addictive chemical to assist in breakdown that the Nashville Wraps is putting in theirs.


I've never seen paper bags littering the side of the road. I see plastic bags fucking constantly. Additionally there isn't a island of paper bags floating in the ocean, nor is paper bags entering our food chain. I'm more concern with the long term effects caused by out never ending use of plastic for everything.

Not that I'm trying to give Chinese Communists any advice here, but they should probably get their people in line on this. It's going to mess up their colonization and mineral extraction efforts in Africa.
