Non-enthusiast for the expansion of presidential powers?
That one.

Am bored and playing both sides for sport. I actually agree with you, which I think you have noticed by now judging by the reaction that came in while I am writing this. Except that fucking drunk Confederate always seems to see through it. You have to wake up pretty early to slip one past that guy. Tell you one thing, I'm very glad I'm not contained within a sardine can of an apartment. At least I can go outside and walk around and yell at the chickens and the fish. They never have much to say. Anyway...

The truth is that I think Trump probably said what he said today simply to piss Cuomo off and nothing more. Maybe they're both in on it together, but probably not. Cuomo doesn't strike me like the "fun" sort. Meanwhile Trump is at these conferences for sport, that much is clear to me. The dude does a Q&A, fights with some media hacks and then bails. You notice how he's out there for smaller amounts of time anymore before handing it off to Pence and the doctors? But I don't believe the governors are being genuine either. I think they're just pissed of that Trump has been exposing their double-speak every day in these conferences. The whole "they thank me in private then shit on me in public" line. They have to fucking hate that so much. But I generally don't take Trump too seriously unless another one of his officials is willing to say the same thing, then you can probably guess it is policy and not Trump being Trump.

That other week when Faucci was laughing and the media ran with it as him being dismissive of the President. I completely believe that Trump told his advisers beforehand something like "watch this, I'm gonna say this" and everyone was like "no way dude you won't do it" and then he did it and Faucci was laughing like a college kid after his buddy Don actually ate the Tide Pod. And I bet seeing that has made some of the staff like Faucci (who is on record not agreeing with or voting for Trump) start to get the joke that the rest of us got four years ago.

We're going to be fine, guys. Yeah some people are going to die but this is the hand we have been dealt. Might as well have a laugh while we're sorting this all out. It is certainly better than trying to bring down the people attempting to solve the problem like our media are currently doing. Cuomo needs to drop this gay state coalition thing though and focus on his job in his state.

People are dying already. So some were not saved. Do they count? Or do we need more to die, to fulfill the quota necessary to protect our real estate investments? 🤣

We should take volunteers, like folks who want to exercise their freedom to assemble in the pews of a megachurch. Maybe even a millionaire, or two.
And more people are going to die. Most people are familiar with the concept of diminishing returns. If you want to hide under the blanket and call out for mommy, nobody is stopping you. You've made it clear with your powerlevel posting and DOOM sperging that you would give up all your rights and freedoms to stop yourself from getting sick. But just because you are a fan of giving up your freedoms, economic security, and quality of living because someone might die doesnt mean the rest of the world is made up of colossal pulsating pussies that jump every time someone coughs.

We've made sacrifices by bringing the whole world to a standstill for 2 months to put a major dent in the death rate and hospitalization rate of the disease. We've gone from a projected 2,000,000 deaths to under 100,000 as more information comes in and we learn how people's bodies cope. Staying locked down for another 5 months or 18 months isnt going to take that number down to just 30k, or even 50k, and the ramifications of locking down for that long from an economical, psychological, and cultureal standpoint are unacceptable to many people.

Humans were not meant to live in boxes feeding from the teat of big government.

Yeah five to eight months is way way way too much.

I'm thinking the end of April is about all people will put up with and all we can reasonably hope for. And you can bet that people will only grudgingly accept April 30th as the cutoff for this lockdown. After that I really can't blame people for trying to go back to their lives and I pity any authority that tries to stop them unless something major changes between now and then.

Might have been posted earlier today but buried after that shitshow of a press conference. But it's now proven that the virus attacks t-cells. So street shitters were right over a month ago, it is air-borne aids. Add the fact that it can leave people with scarred lungs so bad that they need replaced, 18 month lock down maybe what is required so we don't have entire generations on disability because they can't breath and their immune system can't fight off the come cold. The virus is already reactivating in some people I imagine that's not a fluke. As time goes on we'll see more and more people who had it getting sick with it again.

Scientist are still figuring how this virus works, this isn't like the original aids where safe sex and abstinence will protect you. A total lockdown of the entire planet maybe the only thing that keeps us from the entire world population being sickly oxygen tank dependent people.

Thank you.

Although isn't "airborne AIDS" something of an exaggeration?

For the general discussion do you (or anyone) have a non-Chinese source for that? Haven't heard this yet outside of shitposters on the internet.

Isn't that what literally happened until they sacked up a few years later?

It just took them a while. Hard times, good men, soft times, bad men, yadda yadda.

It should be interesting if Britain does decide to just say fuckit and start doing shit like removing kebab because of this.

A Churchill is a rare gem. Is there anyone in the UK even approaching Churchill's stature/reputation? Sadly, I don't think so.

Want to reiterate some numbers to remind everyone to put things in perspective. There's about 110,000 dead worldwide, since this thing started. That's just over two-thirds of the 150,000 people who die worldwide every day.

The USA has suffered a little over 20,000 dead since the ChiCom Flu really got going here, maybe a couple of months. Last week alone over 12,500 people died of heart problems, and almost as many of cancer. Several thousand died of the "regular" flu. Maybe 10,000 died due to diabetes/auto accidents/falls/suicide/homicide/various diseases. That's about 35-40,000 Americas dead every week. Every week, without fail, despite, in many cases, everything 21st-century medicine could do to save them.

But we haven't put most of the country on house arrest for these far, far greater killers. We haven't taken hard hits to the economy and inflicted a great deal of economic harm on God knows how many Americans because of these cemetery-fillers. Sure haven't, have we.

All I, or anyone in their right mind, ask is to rationalize the house arrests. We know where the hot spots are now. Lock those down, plus a buffer zone, and let everyone else go back to work/school/whatever. These house arrests are quickly turning from public health-related to political. One size doesn't fit all in quarantines, and the people who have shoved their house arrests up the asses of way too many Americans know that. What these people have failed to realize is that people see through all this. We're seeing state governors (hello, Michigan and Vermont, you useless sacks of shit) living out their masturbatory power fantasies by, for instance, keeping people from buying garden seeds/plants in the stores. This is spring, time to plant gardens in most places. There was no reason to keep people from buying these things in stores except to display their power over the animals they consider us all to be.

A word to the wise in most state houses - start backing off and start rationalizing your lockdowns before the pushback becomes more than you can manage. Americans are not Chinese or anyone else. We don't mind working, sacrificing, and observing certain rules and regulations if we understand the reason to do so. But I believe more and more people are now questioning the draconian methods most states have used. And I would ask one thing to the people at all levels from the state house on down in states where these unwarranted, oppressive measures have been imposed on the people - do you think people will magically forget in November how you fucked with them in March/April/May/whatever? You won't be able to defend everything you've done. Personally, I will not vote for any incumbent in November except President Trump. He gets it. Believe he'll do everything possible to get governors to see the light.

Shelter in place here was implemented about 3 weeks ago and I've already seen a lot more cars on the road this past week and I'm sure not all of them are going to their essential jobs or the grocery store. The county extended its public health order but people actually following it to May 1st is starting to look pretty :optimistic: and there's no way it's going to be followed through to June. It might not be the prudent, smart thing to do but I have a feeling after this month the state is going to have to either begin easing the lockdown and hoping they have something planned for opening society back up and letting people go back to work, or they're going to have to go full China in shutting people in.

And more people are going to die. Most people are familiar with the concept of diminishing returns. If you want to hide under the blanket and call out for mommy, nobody is stopping you.

Actually if you ever met my mother, it would be immediately apparent, as to what is stopping me.

You've made it clear with your powerlevel posting and DOOM sperging that you would give up all your rights and freedoms to stop yourself from getting sick.

Yes, every single one of them. 🤣

"colossal pulsating pussies that jump every time someone coughs."

AWESOME.

Absolutely. Clearly you are one of the "many."

Humans were not meant to live in boxes feeding from the teat of big government.

That is debatable. Spend some time in Newark, and you will see just how far we've evolved.

Can we get back to those massive pussies that jump when people cough?

We're probably ~6 or 7 months away from a proven vaccine and another 3 months before production means widescale distribution is possible. The problem is this is going to be smack dab in the middle of the second wave if we're really unlucky.

We don’t need a vaccine. The Virus will naturally mutate to it’s lowest possible symptomatic state by then.
There are probably millions of people who are probably infected with asymtomatic variants right now and don’t know it.
All of these people will gain some level of immediate immunity for the year as well, as the virus burns through the human population.

You people talking about a second wave are treating this virus like it’s a constant. It’s not, it’s a virus and it’s going to mutate in the direction of less symptoms. Why do you think we haven’t had “second waves” of swine flu?

If you think you have an asymtomatic variant you actually can’t go and find out in the US right now because they won’t test those with minor symptoms.
It’s all about the money.
Heavy symptoms/death = federal $$$ in a pandemic. So the hospital big wigs will be hard pressed to keep the symptom rate covered up. Won’t get as much money if symptom rates are exposed for being rather minor.
Won’t matter though because the Scandinavian countries elected to let the virus run naturally in their populations so we will get the data on this soon enough.

In fact the virus is just running it’s course through everyone’s population at this point. Shows just how much this “lock-down” is a giant waste of people’s time.

I'm actually curious about something, a while earlier I found an article about how "fizzing" is some endstage symptom of coronachan, are there any studies about it?

Something that's "endstage" in a sickness that's hard to guess as being cured or not sounds like an important factor in figuring out recovered cases, if nothing else than to see if taking the test is required in the first place (like take the "am i cured" test AFTER some fizzing is reported as a symptom) to save resources.

The risk comes from the fact that the more people it infects, the more likely it is that the virus mutates into something nastier and more lethal. It's possible for you to catch it and show little to no symptoms, and spread it to other people without issue, who then go on to infect more people.
>Virus will become more nasty and lethal.
>Virus will spread asymtomatically.

Pick one and only one toaster-head.

All of this is much, much, much more complicated than it seems.

Don't count on "herd immunity" to this virus. And don't listen to this boomer who wants to send kids to the front line to acquire this elusive "herd immunity:"

Get this ... his solution is to open schools to infect children, and those with parents over 45 would get some kind of magic pass, to keep their kids at home.

Just give it a little time. There is always a "workaround." Here is a suggestion, put people like him on the front lines. Anybody enthusiastic about building potential herd immunity can volunteer as a candystriper in a local ICU.

The world would be a better place if medical researchers refrained from making business projections, and business people refrained from volunteering youth (and school staff) to get infected with a potentially lethal virus.

Sorry, just bitter. Some of us actually have faced a lifetime of disability, already, due to the actions of boomers who preceded us. When I had my kids I made a promise to myself and them that they would be spared such a fate, and then it is like what the fuck? This shit again?

There is always a workaround. More PPE, a more efficient means of testing, and a better understanding of this virus will open things up. Sorry this guy is losing his shirt, but human lives are more important than his stock portfolio, especially when it comes time to children and young adults who have their whole lives ahead of them.

Surviving the ICU is also complicated. Although this article is about older people, younger ones end up there too.

Are you living off a trust fund? It sounds to me that you feel everyone else should sink into deep poverty because "think of the children!"

Shit happens and it sucks. It's happening right fucking now and it's totally fucked. No one in government gives a rat's ass about you, your partner or your kids. They don't care about me or anyone posting here, If it hasn't dawned on you and everyone else already, we're on our own. Everyone that came in early on this thread was prepared for the worst and the reason most of us are not starving or dying from the coof is because we bought food, masks and stocked up on our meds while the cunts running the cities/states were telling us to go out and hug a chinaman. What we should be doing is building up relationships with our neighbors, friends, family, even with each other on this forum because we're in for rough times ahead and we're all going to need to rely on each other, not some fuckwit in Sacramento, Albany or DC.

I don't want to be hard on you but your posts indicate a naive worldview and an expectation that the state will take care of us because it has our best interests in mind. Nothing could be further from the truth. They don't care about us or this country, they only care about themselves and if they do anything that benefits us it's because they were forced to or are afraid the house of cards would collapse. In fact, it is about to collapse, as the states are forming mini-confederacies. The Federal government, regardless of who is at the helm, is not going to put up with it. Civil War 2.0 might very well happen and it will make the coof look like the summer sniffles.

What would an 18+ month lockdown achieve, anyway? Sure, you can hide in your (foreclosed?) house, but unless you live on an entirely self-sufficient ranch, you'll need groceries, which are found in grocery stores, which are run by workers, who have been working and inhaling coof droplets all this time. What are the odds that you or someone in your household will require non-coof medical care over the next year? Medical professionals don't have the luxury of doom-posting and social distancing. Or will you allow your upper respiratory infection to blossom, becoming full-blown pneumonia, before you break quarantine to visit the (coof-infested) hospital?

Which is better: dancing with corona with a pussy cold, or Chad pneumonia? Now apply that to the economy.

And one more thing, "lockdown" should always be in air-quotes. A significant portion of people are still out there, working.

You said it right the first time, and I am going to quote you:
"No one in government gives a rat's ass about you, your partner or your kids. They don't care about me or anyone posting here, If it hasn't dawned on you and everyone else already, we're on our own."

And not to PL but I am not a trust fund baby. Much of what I have learned, has been the hard way. A very hard way. It has been a painful journey, and I just don't want to perpetuate more pain for younger people. I would like to eventually leave this earth, knowing that I did not cause people pain, through my action, or failure to act. Yet I already have. But there is damage control. Can't get into it, anymore.

People have the right to disagree with me. I have the right to laugh.

And our rights have been shit on enough. I would like to see kids enter a world and workforce that enjoys all the rights and priveliges that I did, at 18.

I have watched, systematically, as our system of government becomes more ugly and intrusive by the day. All I can do is speak out against forcing things to open at the expense of human lives. People before corporations. I am not naive in the least. I see one course of action as somewhat less catastrophic than the other. Not doom, just damage control.

Government does not care about us. But the least we can do, is care about each other, which we have lost, in this culture of hate and difference. And protect each other from becoming ill.

You ask, I tell.

Small businesses are not going to survive state mandated closures and most shops are small businesses. The people they employed lost their jobs and they aren't getting paid. Large conglomerates and the like aren't suffering and will be the recipients of bailouts from governments. People worked through various pandemics all throughout history. The US didn't bring the economy to a screeching halt during the Spanish Flu and the states didn't form "alliances" to defy the Federal government. A prolonged lockdown is more likely to cause your children harm than not.

I fully expect President Trump to point and laugh at these state coalitions as well. The fuck are they going to do, complain at him some more?

Moreover, the time for the states to work together in a useful fashion was a month and a half ago. At this point it is just out of spite.

It's like he purposefully poses for meme templates.

Anyway, I'm glad they're going to send out letters to everyone who gets the payment before they get it, because I still can't tell if it's 'everyone with a SSN who filed a return', or if 'people filed as a dependent to a head of household, even if they're not adult children, will not get any', or how having different filing statuses in 2018 and 2019 or other complex issues like that work out or need special filings for.

So, some knucklehead tried to steal my truck today. Broke a door lock and the ignition but failed to make off with it, the loser. As I chatted with our local police, they informed me that car break-ins were way up in this ordinarily very low-crime neighborhood, which confirmed my suspicions.

I've been muttering under my breath since early March that there is no way you can tell 200 million Americans they can't work or have any income and not expect a crime wave. And if you get a crime wave, other elements of society start crumbling.

The news has been suspiciously quiet about the rise in burglaries and break-ins occurring all over the country, but the police know about it.

They had better think this indefinite quarantine thing through, because social order is a fragile thing.
