Character Reference Sheets: a Visual Guide to Autism - OC, DONUT STEEL!

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Speaking of Primagens/Protogens, I used to be in the telegram group with some admins and such (long since deleted, no screencaps) And some of the mods (aka, Primagen owners) ticks are the funniest shit. The whole Proto Community is a joke. I have quite a few stories of them and their stupidity...
I remember hearing the creator of that species had it in their T.O.S that they could take designs from someone who got blacklisted and resell them. Something they would frequently do.

Kinda feel bad for semi-doubleposting. Please let me know if Im fuckin shit up. I may be a long time lurker but I never thought to join this site.

Yes. They had a public google doc pinned in that chat as well as character designs that were "blacklisted." I very very vaguely remember one being blacklisted cause it had a square visor and they refused to budge on drawing it circular.

Reminds me that was also a thing the mods cried about a lot. You couldn't make a suit/commission one of your protogen if the concept art was square. If you drew a square visor a mod would immediately come chiming in with: DONT FORGET!!! THEIR VISORS ARE STRICTLY CIRCULAR!!!!!!

Ah, Grems. Back in the day, the creator of the species had a species known as Shadow-cats. Shadow-cats had some strange rules: if you didn't draw them once a week, they'd get taken away even though you paid for them. They'd be about 5 points each, if I remember correctly, so not much but still wasted Points. I wish I remembered the drama behind Shadow-cats, I just remember mine getting taken away because I didn't draw them. 10 points wasted. :(

I think before Shadow-cats, the creator was a thief or scammer of some kind. I don't remember since it's been half a decade since the species was retired.

ETA: Those designs are extremely low quality for a species as expensive as Grems. Imagine spending 100 dollars or more on one of those.
So what you're saying is that to keep them you should shit about a bunch of ms-paint level pictures or make minor variation of previous ones to keep your shadow cat? Then again, trying to game the fake unenforceable fictional cat rules probably makes you just as autistic as the guy who came up with them.

Anybody remember those fucking eyebleedy MTT things? I knew them as being one of the earlier "closed" species with a lot of drama attached and apparently the staff team collapsed after a while; I only heard about it as I was watching several former members bitch and complain about resold characters and abandoned designs. Last year the species creator went on a huge burbling ramble about how they want to remake the community because they didn't keep up with the Adoptable Economy good enough but nothing has come out of it yet as far as I've seen.

Imagine being pissy over a drawing and spend thousands buying a drawing.

Telephone, who created Dutch Angel Dragons, has the same "only I can be unique and special" rule. Iirc, Telephone's DAD has a ring around it's muzzle, and no other DAD is allowed to have it. People still do it of course, because who cares? Furries are unoriginal anyway, the majority of them are foxes with blue hair or generic wolf #2435617.

This is so fucking stupid bro. They're making characters that are the same species as your super special oc. Of course the anatomy is going to look similar. Is there something I'm missing here??
Yes, that being nice these people are turbo autists who have no understanding of common sense or anatomy

I've seen numerous furry characters that aren't protogens/primagens with the exact same palette. What markings is she even talking about? The equal marks oner the cheeks and sides, the chest and tail stripe? These are really basic markings. This character design is generic and uninspired.

aside from these, you might want to take a look at this guy in general because when i opened his page, my eyebrows nearly flew off my face

"The original character TTheDDoctor belongs to a closed "species." Attempts to duplicate TTheDDoctor's design, or create alterations that still bear significant likeness to the original design, to create an OC without first asking my permission and giving due credit will be considered a violation of intellectual property rights. That means recolors and minor edits can and will incur penalties for copyright infringement. Additionally, to preserve clarification when running searches on original characters, any instance of the word "Doctor" or "Emperor" found in the OC's name will be considered when giving permission to duplicate or emulate TTheDDoctor's design. "

Pretty sure no one is gonna want to rip this "sooper speshul" creature off. For fucks sake how many... jewelry??? Pieces does one creature need? Also, correct me if Im wrong but isnt that copyright claim pretty much steam from his ass? Im sure no judge would even take something like this seriously.

Been awhile since I seen anyone autistic enough to design a whole species like that and go all "DO NOT STEAL THIS IS MY OC".

They really nailed the classic over-designed autism aesthetic though.

Ah yes, the ol' game of "how many bizarre and ill-meshing design traits can I cram onto my species/character so I can accuse as many random people of design theft as possible".

I'm going too try and make an OP, if any has some bad closed species and some drama please let me know.

These things

I got one or 2 for you to start off with, if they haven't been mentioned already, but more about the person than the community (though there may be drama, idk)

So I recently came across someone by the name of CloverCoin, creator of Pillowings, a "stuffed animal brought to life by magic" (...Build-A-Bear?) who raises all sorts of red flags.
She calls anyone who calls out her disgusting artwork - which contains beastiality, noncon, and incest - as "purity crusaders" and says people who call out her maggot-brained moralities are "censoring" her.
Oh and don't forget she's disabled uwu

Her NSFW stuff is under the name Tailsideup or Flipsideup because you can't sell your cutesy uwu floof children alongside your fucked up fap material.

Also check out a CS called Bagbeans, the creator has a past history of never delivering on promises for her ARPG. Last year, she fucked up bigly by ripping out one of the core features of the game in order to make it accessible to all (maybe don't sell them for several hundred dollars?) and all those who spent hundreds of dollars threw a massive shitfit (justified, imo).

More about the Griffia Exodus of 2019

Unfortunately, this is all I can find rn and I'm limited for time, but hopefully this is enough to start digging.

In addition, Clovercoin has been involved in some past controversy where she marked the price way up on a pillowing she did not create without redesigning it. I haven't looked too much into this specific drama, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Ngl CloverCoin's style reminds me an awful lot of PK's art style (when PK isn't drawing shitty MS Paint doodles that is).

Good lord I remember coming across these things a long time ago and thought they looked pretty interesting. But then I saw what kind of prices they were going for and thought: "Naaah I'm not paying that much for a doodle". Not surprised Griff's group has gone to shit though. I'll read through the docs later but from the brief glance I took they def deserve to be in the CS thread.
