Also that maybe it's justifiable for someone who puts boxes on shelves at the grocery store to not make the same amount of money as a doctor or nurse, because they're doing a job that, while essential, literally anyone who's not completely retarded (including some people who are actually medically retarded if they're high functioning enough) can do.

The main thing is, Labelle for some reason seems to think that essential employees are people who can't take work off because they don't make enough money, not people who need to keep working so everyone can have food, water, electricity, and emergency medical treatment. If all of those people made a million bucks a year and just quit their jobs during the pandemic, that would cause a whole lot of deaths. There are people who made very little money who are out of work now and people who make lots of money who are still working. As is the case with people bitching about capitalism about 60-70% of the time, this has nothing to do with capitalism. Any remotely competent state run economy would force essential employees to keep working. I'm sure China has, even though it's not really being reported on, like a lot of things China has been doing recently.

YES, you're helping by STAYING HOME. NO ONE is "trapped" they can quit their job if they need if they're in a risk group or don't want to risk catching it, since the government is helping. Many people want to work despite the virus but can't because their work is not essential, they can't do anything about it and shouldn't- because the best option is to stay home so you won't spread the virus to others.

This has nothing to do with minimum wage or capitalism. No one is being sacrificed. People are being unnecessary being exposed to risk and death if people think staying at home is a privilege.

The only mention of a significant other in recent months has been a boyfriend (who likely doesn’t exist). Labelle has made no mention of a husband throughout quarantine or the ill-fated six month world tour, which is weird, since he’d surely be around all the time during one and would be sorely missed during the other. If he’s real, I’m inclined to say the whole thing was a sham to get Labelle the Finnish equivalent of a green card. Really, I think all workers should be protected as much as possible (masks, distancing, barriers, etc) and given raises when possible. But unless this idiot wants to live in a society where people are murdering each other over food, some shops have to be open.
