Well, somehow being able to painlessly kill a random feral cat in the game made his fans chimp out PETA-style.
We're talking about a game in which you can kidnap, enslave, torture, brain wash, mutilate, pulverize and emotionally manipulate underage 18 year old girls, but people get all butthurt because you were able to cut the neck of a cat with a knife as an option (it wasn't a main part of the "game" in any way shape or form, just one possibility to progress through it), which tells you a lot about the priorities of Alex's fandom.

It didn't surprise me honestly. People don't cry in a horror movie if a child is offed but as soon as the dog died people are up in arms.

Don't know why he made such a big deal about this. Does he just hate the idea of speedrunning? Does he think that beating a game fast means the game is bad? Morrowind is one of my favorite games, and it can be beaten in less than 3 minutes. It's not that hard to just keep your mouth shut.

the other day twitter had a good laugh at that fighting game match video of Alex getting PERFECT'D by one move
twitter sees Yandev gameplay.png

What I like most is that Alex' solution to this is just beefing up Raibaru rather than, for example, having that student council the player runs past apprehending Ayano when she runs past her. I think this is what Kappa Kaiju brought up in his video: when there's an exploit, Alex doesn't try to figure out what the underlying problem is in order to fix it. Instead he just slaps on a solution to fix the problem in that specific instance, in the case of Osana it's by introducing an unnecessary character who violates all the rules you've learned so far.

As disturbing as this is, it's true. I imagine the reverse is the case in cultures where people still slaughter their own goats, I imagine knowing how the sausage is made either makes you vegan or makes you sympathize less with animals.

You have to understand that animals have been domesticated by humans for as long as recorded human history. People generally grow an attachment to animals to the point of considering a household pet a part of the family, and have affection for them that they wouldn't with other humans. Both cats and dogs in particular are very popular pets.

So for Alex to implement a method to kill a cat, and a defenseless kitten no less, throws into question the moral compass of the developer, rather than the fictional character meant to carry it out.

I think his main issue is that the video can be misleading to get people to believe that Osana isn't finished because she can be killed quickly even in the latest build since it's uploaded pretty recently (hence he brought up the build date and called it "invalid run"). Problem is the video uploader didn't even bring up along the lines like "Even though Alex is trying to make Osana harder to kill in recent builds, he's still easy to kill and this video proves how despite the video shows the build was from long ago etc." so that's a lot of points docked off for Alex.

Even then, the main point of the video is just speedrunning to kill Osana and it's mainly for fun rather than criticising Alex, so overall Alex is still stupid to even try and bother.

People who unironically think this are the same people that redirect paternal/maternal instincts towards animals and post about their wholesome chonkers on reddit childfree. You're a hell of a pussy if a cat made out of pixels on a screen dying "throws into question the moral compass of the developer" for you, even though eva doesn't have a moral compass in the first place

Not everyone agrees with your mindset, and your example of posting on Reddit about their morbidly obese pet is also a unfair generalisation based on the actions of a minority of idiots.

The emotional attachment to an animal is the same reason why people don't like seeing dogs die in movies. People get protective of an animal, even if they aren't real or weren't actually harmed during production of a film or TV show. Its addition shows that Alex doesn't have that connection, or perhaps just thought he was just being edgy by adding it. Not to mention, sniffer dogs are not that stupid.

I didn't go after Alex for it when it was added, but I do agree with its removal. A majority of his fanbase are impressionable idiot kids who see Alex as a role model, and such a method added by him means he potentially normalises animal abuse. Though I'd like to believe that wasn't the intention and he just didn't think that one through. It's a wasp's nest and a PR nightmare, so it was a good call to remove it.

But killing people is fine? It's either all or nothing, you can't tell me hurting muh puppers is too taboo to be included in a game built on a violent premise but murdering random middle schoolers is okay. And the normalization of animal abuse shit is the exact same argument as "if you play GTA, you will get a sudden urge to commit a mass shooting"

Back on topic, Yandere DataDigger posted this to YouTube.

So funny that Alex won't let people share screenshots of him getting 45fps on a good pc because of vague 'troll shit'.

On the subject of DataDigger, I really think the Yandere Simulator hate community may be worth looking into. DataDigger herself (I think it's a chick) has some bad blood with r/Osana, and I took a look at the Discord and there's a 'confessionals' page where you can like confess to the sin of liking Yandere Simulator. A lot of YanDevs trolls are people with hateboners cause they got duped by his voice and their naivety.

Recently, DataDigger uploaded a video about the latest release, it's 30 minutes long and it's just them playing Yandere Simulator so they're still clearly into the game despite their hatred of Alex.

Indeed DataDigger is a girl, and apparently also quite young. It may serve to explain why she's constantly caught up in drama and has an irrational hate-boner for Alex.

The topic of DataDigger is one of contention for one of the moderators of /r/Osana. I still don't quite know the full story, but I do know she doesn't have a lot of tact, is quite racist, and allegedly has a gore fetish. It sounds like a case of someone who got too popular and didn't know how to deal with it in a meaningful way, and she quickly became the subject of constant criticism just like Alex.

I joined one of her servers some time ago to watch an arguement they had going on regarding a ban, and it was mostly petty insults. Afterwards the server died down and became a target for spam and nothing new ever happened, so I left.

Regarding the racist thing, yeah, she is.

I tried to do some digging but I don’t think the full story of her beef with r/Osana has been posted publicly, at least not on that subreddit. I’m assuming she probably kept shitting up the subreddit and the mods got tired of her.

Word is she's 19, which for me is old enough to be laughed at online. I'm definitely going to be looking at her content, considering she's clearly a fan of mine if you look at the previous post, you'll see that's the gif I made of Alex lmao.

She reads here as well, and apparently is banned according to some redditard. Is there any truth to that? She loves to sperg about Alex so I wouldn't be surprised if she was threadbanned.

Judging by the chat history of the /r/Osana Discord server, because they went a bit into the story, there was a moderator on /r/WheresOsana under the pseudonum "Eevee", who was, and I quote, "was the most batshit, inconsistent adhd mods we had ". According to them "Eevee" gave moderation roles to a bunch of users and handed the subreddit's ownership to YDD, which eventually prompted one of them to leave and create /r/Osana.

Considering YDD's temperament, can probably see why.

I heard she was 15, though my source isn't exactly reliable.
Oh you made that? Nice work, I find it hilarious. I've been seeing a lot of it lately thanks to her.
