Lucas seriously needs to relocate ASAP. I doubt he understands how miserable and dangerous homelessness during December/January in Spokane can be. That's if he can find gov't subsidized housing for crazy people in other places, I don't know how 'Do Not Rent' lists work.

I don't think he'll leave Spokane as long as he can still find a homeless shelter that will take him in, free shelter food, and a place he can hang out during the day to keep out of the cold.

I agree. Logically, it sounds like Lucas has burned his bridges in Spokane, which is a decent sized city. I often wonder if he is still working with any of his wranglers at all. I know he has the payee which he cannot get rid of no matter what. But does he see a social worker at all anymore? Maybe the payee is his social worker?

It sounds like he is completely off his meds, so I doubt he sees a psychiatrist or psychologist anymore. Maybe he works with someone at one of the shelters.

Moving would probably be his best move. I have said before there are some inexpensive towns in the Midwest where you can still get an apartment for under $500 a month. Not sure how willing or desperate a landlord would be to rent to him, and probably after 10 minutes of meeting Lucas the Landlord would probably think "no way". Lucas could not mentally handle getting on a Greyhound and riding out to another part of the country.

His payee is having to do something different with Lucas's tugboat now that he is no longer paying rent. I think Lucas is going to be staying at the shelters for a while.

Payee services around here are dealt with primarily through Frontier Behavioral Health, which does most of the counseling and mental health medication around here as well. (Due to HIPAA laws I can't say much other than I know Lucas goes there based on personal observation.) So his payee there most likely still has control of his money, particularly since he has stopped taking his meds and probably his therapy, which in turn would prompt them to keep a freeze on his money too. Also of note, FBH has a fund called the HARP fund that can pay up to three months of rent, but only if of course one meets landlord expectations and Lucas does not.

This also explains why he is still quite poor, only has a little bit of money to blow.

And therein lies the problem. Spokane has an extremely low rental vacancy rate (1-2% depending on the source). Average rent is 700+. I pay 1300. Sooooooo, Lucas's SSI check is not gonna cut it, especially when the landlords have the leverage

My stepdad has a 5400 dollar a month pension and is living in Arizona City, AZ. He is essentially living like a fucking Emperor due to how cheap it is down there, hence why most retired people move down there. Lucas's pension disability would get him farther down there, particularly in the rural communities.

But then,that means Lucas being responsible and paying his bills himself, etc. He most likely would die on the streets during that desert cool down with the scorpions and rattlesnakes.

Extremely low income, and a non profit agency known as Rural Resources have apartments as well (we are talking subsidized to the point of 56 dollars a month for a one bedroom). These tend to be open due to how sporadic the demand is up there (the poor and junkies go into the woods, come into town during winter, etc.). Lucas would have a good shot of getting into a place.

Buuuuut, like with any rural culture, they are a rowdy bunch of there. Lucas doing his shit, I really believe they would murder him.

I’ve attached some caps I found in the comments section of a Facebook post about Lucas that was related to Lucas getting into it with that guy on Instagram the other day. A lot of his friends are messaging Lucas now which probably isn’t going to help his situation at all. It is however bringing in interesting info on Lucas that he’s sharing with little effort put in. It seems lately that both here and SOFALAW are having more people come forward with either Lucas answering their messages or lucas straight up DMing people out of the blue on Instagram.
