The game is not out yet. Nothing to defend aside from facts. Haven't read all the spoilers, don't want to. So I'm going to phrase this nicely.
1. I don't need to try and discredit the leaks before the footage (those leaks are absolutely real, who's arguing that?) Ya know, the ones about Ellie's Gay Adventure against a Christian cult of toxic white men. That one was false. There's no mention of Christianity in the game, as per those who have read the spoilers. I was right about that. You were wrong. Excuse me for pointing that out.
2. Yes, it does matter who the leaker is. There's a difference between a guy who localized the game in Brazil, and a guy who personally want to fuck his direct studio/colleagues and most importantly himself over.
Mostly because the latter doesn't make sense. Whoever it is would have to change his name and move far away from California to ever work in tech again, and he would never work in games industry, period. He would get ostracized by any friends he had in the studio, and sued into the underside of oblivion. Probably is going to as is.
If he was so mad about missing one paycheck, why would he guarantee missing all the paychecks for the rest of his life?
3. No, we don't "know" that Naughty Dog doesn't pay people. That's bullshit. I'll ask for a source, but I know it doesn't exist. It's quite the opposite actually, by most accounts, they pay competitive salaries. Crunch? Absolutely. That's the AAA games industry for you. It's an arms race.
With the skills in coding that the guys who usually end up getting the more intensive end of the crunch stick, they can go work somewhere else in Silicon Valley doing half the work for just as much, if not more money. These people are not coal miners in the 1900s. You know what you're signing up for when you join one of these "top tier'" dev studios.
Does that mean they can't do better? Absolutely not. But you will never get rid of crunch. It's just not how these projects work.
GlassDoor rates Naughty Dog very highly, in spite of crunch.
This was my problem earlier in the thread: you keep saying that I'm trying to defend the game, but I'm not; I've seen people flame the writing, and I'm not in here fighting against that.
What I am doing is pointing our inconsistencies and patently false information. And I was right. My intentions are irrelevant here.

Also the crunch got worse once Neil Cuckmann joined on and bullied out the writer that made the first games story actually decent.
Naughty Dog doesn't have the rights to take down discussion about the leaks, they don't have copyright over videos that don't show anything of the leaks, discussion is protected so much by laws, I can't wait for the lawsuits against them from this shit show.

They can be compartmentalized, but that doesn’t mean they are. Square owns important IP and hasn’t messed up too badly with it. The first 2 Nu-Tomb Raider games are pretty good. Eidos did a good job with Deus Ex, though Mankind Divided clearly needed massive delays. I honestly have trouble remembering which Sony 1st parties developed what. Does Sony even produce anything themselves in Japan anymore? All the Jap shit was exclusive for so long because Xbox didn’t take there at all, and who knows if that’ll continue seeing as more and more of it is coming to steam and running fine on low end hardware.

Japanese games make the majority of their sales on Consoles. The audience is already entrenched and that doesn't seem to be changing. NISA, Falcom, Square, Xseed, Koei-techmo, Atlus all bank on consoles being the platform that brings in the majority of their money.
Not only that but PC people don't buy the special editions with physical stuff. You can look at the cold steel 3 special edition, they still have it in stock for PC while the PS4 one is sold out.
SIE Japan is the japanese sony studio and they put out gravity rush 1 and 2 as well as the Astrobot games. They just changed positions in April to prepare for future games to be released.
Sony will switch playstation corporate representatives and managers with people who would run their second and sometimes third party studios. People get shuffled around all the time.
Sony will have people entrenched over at other companies because it gives them some leverage. The PS4 really grew their western divisions this gen where as before they were not as big. You have quite a few first party sony franchises now that are on par with other companies offerings. Also they're really the only ones out of the big three that have large western support. They have their equivalent to Rareware a few times over at this point, where as Nintendo still lacks a single solid western dev who will make games for the western market. Microsoft even doesn't make games frequently enough to match sony's output.
God of War went from a mid range brawler with a moderate fanbase to this big adventure game with a very large fanbase.

Who wants to only "work with the best", and chose to go to EA circa 2019. And who totally isn't salty. When did we start buying into Schreier's union agenda?
Firstly, no it doesn't even address everything I just said. I doubt you've read it entirely anyway.
Secondly, surprise surprise. Company wants you to sign an NDA. That's standard practice to anyone who works in anything concerning entertainment. He even directly says that he has no crunch stories, and that story about the person who collapsed was basically bs. His own former colleagues were beefing with him on Tw@tter about that and other things. She collapsed for maternal reasons, if memory serves.
Is there a source for any of this outside of 4chan? There's an IGN article that says something about her being "forced out", but that was never corroborated by anyone, and I don't know how seriously to take that from IGN.
Bearing in mind "Cuckmann" has been on since at least Uncharted 2.
Now don't get me wrong, there was definitely some drama concerning Amy Henning and Druckmann, but no one credible has corroborated or detailed exactly what it was. Beyond Sam Drake being an outright villain, and Nate not touching a gun before halfway through the game.
As for the lawsuits, I think you're setting yourself up for severe disappointment. I personally haven't seen many videos deleted for simply discussing the leaks... many of the high profile ones are still up.
I really don't care about any of that shit though, not my money. Lmao

Funnily enough, Tenenbaum just uses a reskinned Splicer model in Bioshock 1 so she actually does look fairly ghoulish in-game. To be fair, I’m pretty sure you only see her face-to-face once, and she’s also standing on a balcony above you, so normally you wouldn’t be able to see her ugly mug for all that long.
According to the wiki at least, she apparently DID have a unique model at some point that was scrapped during development.. for some reason.
In BioShock 2 she gets a new model that just makes her look like a normal human.

I go to sleep, wake up, start my day and I come back to an even worse dumpster fire than before. I sat here thinking "oh geez, what could have possibly happened to make it jump 10+ pages?"
I am fucking astonished at the level of damage control there is. As if the parallels between Cobain and Druckmann wasn't enough, he outright says not to buy his shit if you're racist, sexist and homophobic! Because that's the problem, and not because of your immensely shit writing. Who in their right fucking mind would approve of this? As was said earlier in the thread, the world of TLoU has gone to shit. We've seen this time and again, and while some areas were worse than others, some communities seemed to be a-okay in the cleanliness department, as in, not exactly spotless, but livable for being THE POST APOCALYPSE. What do we get then? A SPOTLESS GYM. A spotless fucking gym in the post apocalypse.
And that truck? Where did that military truck come from? I thought it was supposed to be nearly unheard of to get a car. That's why Joel had to go meet Bill in that town to get that beat to hell pickup truck. But here, she's with a community that JUST SO HAPPENS to have a nearly pristine looking military jeep. What in the fuck.
I don't doubt that some higher political and military officials have apocalypse bunkers with hydroponics systems and means of production to help things moving along, but our story isnt WITH them. We're in the shoes of the survivors, the common folk, who have access to to a fucking Planet Fitness.

and then he turned his baseball cap around so hard it spun twice and screwed itself to his head, and remained permanently fixated backwards, clinging to his fat head and depriving him of oxygen to the brain, because that's the only explanation I can think of as to why he could have possibly thought any part of Abby's character was a good fucking idea! Not only is she a "pretty girl", but she easily gets guys looking at her, has one outright say shes great at everything, and is superdooper amazing at archery you guys oh geez.
We didn't even have moments telling us how good Joel or Ellie was at archery. They just picked up the bow and started using it, and unless you upgraded the fucking thing, you were trash with it.
But her life was ruined
look at this nice life she has in the community so bad you guys ((

Druckman may wind up getting Cliffy B'd.
I would say Kojima'd since he ran up the bill so high just like Hideo did at Konami, but Kojima didn't sperg out when people were mixed on Death Stranding. He was far more professional and was rather humbled.

Anybody thinking this game bombing will hurt the PS5 is a moron. Sony has other IPs than the TLOU.
What will hurt the PS5 is Corona Chan ass raping Japan now that the US might be stabilizing and a possible second flare up in the West after the Summer.

There's going to be hardware shortages for sure, Japan wants sony back making hardware on their shores. That's going to take time and effort to relocate shit especially since the virus is still affecting long distance shipping and cargo by land and sea.
They're saying 6 million will be the most available at launch for the entire globe.
