The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Wokeness? Didn't really see any. Although there was at the opening of Shadow a brag about how diverse their development team was, which left a nasty taste. It wasn't like "suddenly, a troon with superpowers!" or "have I mentioned my representation quotient today?" I suppose Shadow could be "all the bad guys are men and all the good guys are women" if you really stretch it, but that didn't feel shoehorned in the way that the later Wolfensteins had it.

There's two ways at looking at those disclaimers (and they've been in pretty much every AC game since Revelations.)

One is to cover their arses by going "look, a multi-ethnic/whatever team worked on this shit, so fuck off claiming we're racist" or it's them patting themselves on the back saying how good they are for hiring "Tina" who only does the coffees but has the body of an Olympic weight lifter.

It mostly seems to be a mild ass covering exercise so they don't get the same ridiculous tard screeching Kingdom Come Deliverance seemed to get.

Indeed and I think Sony has to release a big game as a diversion now as people are starting to wonder about the strange silence from the company in regards to the PS5 while Microsoft is preparing a big reveal this week.
PS5's stuff has been fucked up by Corona, and there's pull to move all manufacturing back to japan. The PS4 is still doing fine though, Final Fantasy 7 Remake moved close to 4 million units despite Square not having enough supply to meet demand.

Memory hole it and focus on Horizon Zero Dawn 2?

That'd be my move, the first game on that was fucking dope.

Devil's Advocate: why not delay the game for a later PS5 exclusive?

They(and I am speculating here) need to sell this game a lot to make money off it. They are planning on draining their super fans as much as possible. And I'm talking before the leaks. They are releasing it now so everyone who is a fan buys it. Then they release it again with the PS5 with buzzwords so some of those fans buy it again. Then they update the graphics on the first one, package them, and get them to buy it a third time. So they make $180 dollars on the game, instead of $60. The Last of Us has(d) a very strong fan base and they aren't wrong to assume they can do this.

Big AAA stuff rarely gets launched with console, just by limit of production they can't sell enough of them to profit off them (Nintendo is different, the Wii and Switch launched with the latest Zelda, but they both were also available on the previous console, and they make a profit off their hardware, Sony and Microsoft sell their consoles at a loss initially) because there isn't enough machines to be played on in existence to sell anywhere what they need.

I only played the first reboot which was full of magnetized platforming but that webm and everything I've seen of the third one makes me doubt they included platforming that's possible to fail.

To tie this to ND it follows the same cancerous formula as Uncharted where platforming consists of holding forward and jumping when you reach the edge, with nothing that requires any sort of skill since all effort was put into making it look cool instead of be fun to play.

Those types of games have have always been weak when it comes to anything vertical. Supposedly that's one of the issues Sony's studios will address in future installments of GOW and Horizon. I liked Shadow of the Tomb Raider better than the first or second. It had more stuff to do and had a wider world to explore full of upgrades and shit to find. Shadow you can die during platforming sections.

Watching this is surreal, the way she pulls back the bow instantly. It looks like it's sped up, but even so the instant aiming is just wrong. In the previous game when you got a bow, you had to nock the arrow and it would take a while for Joel to aim properly, because bows are a lot tougher to use than people think. That, and it was realistic that a bow would be slower to aim and fire with. This bitch is firing them off like she's fucking Legolas.

That's because Joel was a weak ass white male dumbass. Imagine thinking male protagonists are on the same level as Uber-Abby.

She runs like she's shit her pants.

"she"

That's what they're doing, they're promising two more games. It looks like they're taking Ubisoft's ASSCREED formula and making it not tedious or bad. They're improving on the core aspects of a quasi stealth/quasi adventure game.

Ok, I double checked and they definitely changed the release date to June 19 after the leaks happened. https://www.gamesradar.com/the-last-of-us-part-2-review/

I suppose there's always a chance they can delay it again after the backlash they've been getting in a last ditch effort to save their asses, but I'm pressing X to doubt at this point.
I feel like they should just release the game now honestly. The more you delay it the more people become aware of the product and decide not to buy it. Like I said before, Sony isnt mad that the game is shit, they're mad the game leaked which showed how shitty their product is which turned off potential customers. If this game was released in April, they wouldnt have given much attention to the people crying how terrible the story is, they already got their money anyways so who cares.

The Tomb Raider reboot series is one of the worst things that was ever made. For some reason they kept shoving the big samoan guy as a sidekick while it was clear in the 2010 reboot that the asian girl was Lara's best friend. Also Pratchett is a shitty writer who only gets jobs because her father was talented.

God how I hated that character. He was shoehorned into everything. I was genuinely hoping for him to be killed off in the third game. SE even toyed with me the idea at a point during the game.

It was going to be released in May, but like a lot of things, it got delayed because of corona. The leak forced them to decide that delay wasn't as necessary as they thought it was.

Sony can release the PS5 any time they wish. Nintendo is off competing in essentially a different segment of the home gaming market until they decide to try to take on Sony again. Microsoft continues be an irrelevant dumpster fire - no matter the how hard fanboys cling to the idiotic notion of release schedules having any relevance to console market dominance.

The PS2 launched a year after the Dreamcast - Sony won.
The Xbox launched a year after the PS2 - Sony won.
The 360 lauched a year/year and a half early - Sony won - even with being 200 dollars more expensive and tens of millions of duplicate 360 consoles sold from the RRoD fiasco.
The PS4/Xbox One launched at the same time - Sony won.

And the same goes for price.

Naughty Dog could sell zero copies of the TLoU2 and it is not going to affect the overall dominance of Sony in the console market.

Edit:

LOL, at the butthurt fanboys. Keep clinging to the delusion that Sony and Microsoft are in some sort of fierce battle that can go either way.

Microsoft with the 360:

* Launched a year/year and a half early
* Was 200 dollars cheaper
* Had the luxury of selling tens of millions of duplicate consoles due to the RRoD, disk destroying drives, jet engine loud Ghostbusters style external powerbrick
* And had the entire mainstream gaming press actively rooting for them

And still got outsold every year on the market by the PS3 and ended up in last place worldwide.

A single game crashing and burning isn't going to make a bit of difference to the overall console market.

Thing is, I'm not a console user or fanboy but you might have a point here. There are enough fanboys out there who will buy a PS5 on day one even if it costs two grand and requires you to be kicked in the crotch ten times in its EULA. And there's enough NPCs who will just consoome product.

One big misconception about women lifting weights is that it will make them look bulky and manly. You will see this all the time in fitness forums where women want to lift weights, but they're afraid they'll look like Colleen Foltchs. It's a crying shame, because lifting weights is something more women should be doing, not just because it is good for you, but also because it makes you look better. This awful character design only encourages this ridiculous myth. Women don't get big and bulky doing 1 hour of lifting 3X a week. You get that big when you workout constantly, have a very precise protein laden meal plans, and take steroids. For a group who claim they want to write characters that are progressive and challenge convential thinking, they're doing the same exact bullshit they bitch about by designing a character that looks big, bulky, and masculine after working out.

Steroids also make women have a giant clit. I know that from being forced to watch the Chyna sex tape once.

Probably when Ellie's begging her not to kill Joel.

I mean, she still overpowered him and beat him to death which shows she's stronger than him, but I wouldn't call Ellie's reaction praise.

If you look after the hit, there's some of Joel's brains on the club.
