Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Screen Junkies did an Honest Trailer for Genndy Wars today that I enjoyed:
One minor comment: they mention that Asajj Ventress wasn't named in Genndy Wars and she only got a name in Filoni Wars. But I swear I knew her name back when the show first aired, and I barely watched Genndy Wars at the time. Am I going crazy, or did they miss that?

She wasn't named in an episode of Genndy Wars itself, but claiming she was named in Filoni Wars is complete bullshit. She was first named in Dark Horse's Jedi comics months before Genndy's Clone Wars premiered and her name was mentioned in Genndy Wars promotional material, Delisle's credit, the websites, merch, tv spots and previews for the next chapters/episodes. Her name had been in use in all media for years before Filoni Wars premiered.

Hah! Love it.

Except they are exceptional. There were Genndy toys.

Including a Durge!

(Sassy Obi-Wan is best Obi-Wan though)

EDIT: Wolfman Jedi too!

Kylo Ren: His uncle tried to kill him
He's also the greatest Darth Vader fanboy to ever live. He's basically an alternate version of Jacen Solo and just like they ripped off bits of KOTOR they sure could've borrowed bits of Jacen's journey through the dark side of the Force. If his arc was "Vader fanboy" to "literally Vader i.e. "Sith Apprentice he's killing endless amounts of people" to "realizing the best part of Vader was his redemption as he repudiates his foolishness" we'd have one hell of a character.
The Last Jedi - The scene where Luke slags off the Jedi from the Prequel era. I always thought they were incompetent morons.
It sure was nice hearing the ST actually mention some Prequel shit for once. It's such a shame Hamill's performance was wasted on that movie.

Since it's Star Wars Day, what's your favorite Star Wars moment?

I'd say that mine is the Death Star Trench Run, just an incredible, action-packed scene.
PT: Palpatine revealing himself to Anakin, the ROTS novel expands on it really well too.
OT: Most of the Luke-Vader interaction in Return of the Jedi, though if I had to pick one specific moment it'd be Luke finally seeing Vader underneath the helmet.
Honorable mention for my favorite EU moment being at the very beginning of Heir to the Empire where Obi-Wan's ghost tells Luke that he's not the last of the jedi, but the first of the new before he fades entirely.

I am currently watching the E;R review and I am giggling like a schoolgirl. He doesn't make many uploads, but the ones he does make are fucking amazing.

But you know what really strikes me? When I watched the movie, it was in the Movie Night stream with that terrible quality camrip and gambling ads intercut into the movie . . . well, and I was getting drunk off my ass on cheap wine... so watching how review now I just realize how cheap everything looks in better quality video.

When Rey floats around at the beginning, it looks really cheap, but the props - every single one! - looks cheap as fuck.
The wayfinder looked like shit and I knew that, but I am absolutely dumbfounded by the scene where the protagonists meet Lando and he uses his wristband-holothingy to show them something.

Like, without even fucking exaggerating, I have made better looking props for autistic hobbies myself.
Even that stupid toy-bait Resistance ring in TLJ didnd't look this cheap.

I remember her being named in one of the accompanying browser games for the genndy wars series. How I am able to remember pointless crap like that, I don't know.

As @GeneralFriendliness mentioned, that's a pack of fake news. I even remember getting a sticker book for Genndy Wars back when it was on TV, and she was explicitly labeled as Asajj Ventress. That was how me and the other kids in my class new her by name, years before Filoni Wars was on the air.

We were all also incredibly confused as to why Asajj's voice sounded different on the Filoni series.

I remember those! The Anakin vs Asajj dueling game was really cool (or at least, cool for kids like me who didn't have access to gaming consoles yet). The speeder game with Obi-Wan sucked ass, though...it was tough to control, and didn't feel enough like the jousting like was seen in the actual cartoon, which disappointed me.

So, that wipes out the money made from the sequels trilogy. Boy, it sure is a good thing they didn't do anything to drive the franchise into the ground or alienate huge chunks of the fanbase. Otherwise they'd be in trouble, amirite?
I'm pretty sure they lost most if not all of it on Galaxy's Edge. They paid 4 billion for the brand, earned back around 5 billion with the sequels but then flushed it all down on Galaxy's Edge which cost them over 3 billion initially, then around another 2 billion with the Kylo Ren rides, then another 2 billion on the hotel and then even more on repairs and upkeep. All so Kennedy could have her personal fantasy shopping mall for Karens and wine moms.

Also I feel I should point out that there was already a minor scifi novel franchise called Galaxy's Edge before Disney made their shit. I'm surprised there haven't been any legal issues.

Welp. Disney Profits are down 90%.

Something HAS to give.
Good heavens.
I sense... a Happening.

Wow. I guess the stupid ass "Sith dagger" which looks like the dollar store knockoff of the toy version of what should be the actual Sith dagger wasn't the only awful toy-looking prop in the movie. Any more pictures of shitty props in Plan IX? I was too drunk and busy chatting with my friend about how awful the movie was (only way to fight the boredom) when I watched that abortion.

That said at least it fits the Star Wars aesthetic since it looks like some rejected toy from the 70s nobody bought. Reminds me of those old ass handheld football games from the 70s (and probably was birthed by some FX designer repeatedly raping one until Jar Jar Abrams was pleased with the result).

oh I wasnt the only one who played those? (Bit of a tangent but are there any sites that preserve the old CN/ Nickelodeon flash games. They werent particuarly good but I hate too see digital media becoming lost forever) You couldve also gotten her name from one of the toys or the comics (It bugs me when people say Ventress and Durge originated from the show when their first appearance was actually in the comics).

I guess they blew the budget on filming on location to then set up a green screen there.

Have we posted this guy before? He's pretty solid, shown up on EFAP a time or two so you know he's in on the shitlord side.

Dude, he had that in the original trilogy. Go back and look, he taps on it to signal Lobot.

The real question is whether they literally used the 1970s prop or recreated it.

Just reposting this from Filoni's twitter in case there are any doubts about his favoritism.

The drawing was posted in response to questions about Ahsoka being a ghost in Plan IX and Filoni denying it and reminding us that she can never be stopped while the jedi cease to exist and she does nothing to help Luke.

Ok, I gotta be that guy.

It isn't the same prop. Lando's comlink looked more fancy and was transparent. But its clear they wanted it to look like it.

But the scene is basically another "remember that uber fans?!" moment by JJ, as JJ only thinks in visuals regardless if it makes sense. You get nothing that feels like the same world 30 years later, just a different world with a lot of pointless memberberries that focus more on props and repeating scenes than the setting and characters. In other words, his films feel more like a sequel to the "Making of the OT" than the OT itself. Or at best a reboot or remake that's not a reboot.

Speaking of Lando, here's a little thought experiment:

This thing with Filoni really gives off a vibe that he must be really autistic rather than malicious like the rest of the LucasFilms crew.
