To be honest, most of the people I've encountered have reacted to the reboot with a resounding "meh." This is mostly due to Troy Denning, who had been the head writer since the end of the New Jedi Order series and whose works are filled with loads more sex and violence than the usual Star Wars fare. As you can imagine, his hatedom's pretty big.
 
But its not a reboot, it's a sequel trilogy. I'm glad to see the EU die, personally. The Thrawn series, Rogue and Wraith squadrons was all I really read. The whole Vong thing never interested me.

Dark Lord, the rise of Darth Vader was pretty good I thought.
 
I just hope Rogue Squadron itself still exists. I liked the game so...

So would I be a lolcow if I started a petition to try and get the 2003 clone wars back into continuity.

Some aspects of it may be retconned eventually. The way I see it, the sweeping of the EU is not so much a binning as putting it all in boxes, which authors, creators etc. can draw from and use in their stories. That allows everything to harmonize.

We've already seen that with the new books that have come out so far.

Its the ultimate sandbox.

Has anyone else but me noticed a small thing in Shadows of the Empire, "Teräs Käsi - The Bunduki art called 'Hands of Steel'"? That "Teräs Käsi" is not really a made-up sci-fi name, but just really bad finnish?

Yeah for a large group of people it's just inconcievable that dark coloured person could actually be a stormtrooper. It doesn't make sense from any angle. Quite a few users have been banned from theforce.net for making inflammatory comments about JB.

Total spergs.

And the new trailer made me feel like I was 10.

I'd love to, but I'm on the other side of the planet. I'm watching the delayed telecast on SW.com though. Looks like a blast. I'd love to be there! Did you get some of JJ's free pizza?

I did NOT get pizza dammit! But there were poor people who waited all night to get into the hall that STILL HAD to see it on their phones. I completely admit I slept through it ... But the second I saw new stormtroopers I freaked out ... And there are FORTY of them here on the show floor. They let them debut their costumes this morning ... all built from kits in secret ... Screen perfect ... And totally awesome .. They brought the house down. Dammit, WHY aren't you HERE?!
