"It's unhealthy to keep waiting day after day for Osana."

Lmao, more like people check out for months/years at a time only for there to still be no fucking Osana and for the game to still be in alpha build (if that). I also love how this person is admitting that Alex is so fucking slow the only way you can stay sane while waiting for progress is to disconnect for months at a time and find new hobbies while Alex continues to do nothing.

I just hate how Alex writes the story for this game, or rather the fact he decided that he needs story in a first place.
Like, dude tries his hardest to write Anime plot to end all Anime Plots, which would be fine if he added self-awareness or irony to it aside from "look anime has theese tropes, get it guys?"
All Saikou shit is even more irratating because it just so ver over the top for no real reason it looks silly, even more than it was in YuGiOh or even Kill la Kill.
I personally thing it would be much better to make another Yandere as a final rival, someone who is just as insane and violent and knows all the tricks (or even uses them), instead of Marry Sue Ojou-sama.

The story would be so much better if Alex embraced the wackiness of anime entirely and not just when it suits him. He wants a serious game but he still wants to have his big busty boobies, but he can't have both because those are two different tones.

I hate to powerlevel but a day or so ago, a comment I wrote praising the music that plays when your sanity is low or you've murdered someone (really don't remember) got 400+ likes - but when I look back the music doesn't match up with the murder. Unless you're stabbing someone the deaths come off as funny honestly, plus it doesn't help that these characters are either bland or just stereotypes I have no incentive to like or feel at least a little bad for killing. It isn't a serious game, but Alex tries so fucking hard to make it one.

Tl;dr tones clash way too much with each other and Alex needs to pick one.

Ah yes, KuuderessioPlusvalin, Alex's number one white knight. To be honest, I'm a little surprised that he's still sucking Alex's dick even though everyone knows about the latter's pre-YanSim antics and horrifying fetishes. Then again, he's probably autistic and it's hardly a surprise that he was promoted to moderate North Korredit...

Looking up YanDev to get a change of toothpaste from DarkSydePhil, to find out Osana still gets delayed for more pointless filler which expands the if-else-code and the artificially lengthened development process.
The Choo Choo Train of willfull improvement has departed long ago, any understanding of game development wouldn't help to improve anything. Scratch everything, start anew, put your actual goal in first row (the rival) and build your game around that, don't bend an already broken sandbox till it might match your specific intend.
Someone with talent might be able to, but he's not. Know your limits and work within those.

See you next year for the exact same game, but this time with hats. The necessary hats in preparation for Osana, you know.

I said this in an earlier post, but Alex really just needs to embrace the meme and turn YanSim into anime parody instead of trying to play these tropes completely straight. Yandere Simulator works way better as a tongue-in-cheek parody of anime tropes than a gritty, serious crime game. The tropes he implements are so stereotypical it's hard to take them seriously.

God fucking damn it why do I see me in her (:_(

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like Alex mentioned that he was worried nobody would like Yandere-chan at some point because she's a murderer, which is understandable because even murderers can be fun and beloved characters. Imo having a goofy world for her to inhabit and making her the straight man who understands how stupid things are would make her a good character - but God knows Alex can't handle his beloved animus being made fun of.

Hell, you could make Taro a straight man too, someone who just goes along with it because he gets a harem out of it; it'd explain why Yandere-can specifically likes him so much. A problem with Yandere Sim's story and characters is that not enough attention is given to Senpai, which is so ironic seeing as you're going to be spending the whole game killing for him. He should be interesting, funny, or something, literally anything other than bland - if being bland is the shtick Alex is going with he should at least make him the blandest man alive.

I'm pretty sure that Alex came to a similar conclusion back in September 2017. Though rather than make up his mind and choosing which idea he liked best, he thought it'd be easier to just make two different modes for the same game. In addition to the base game, he added a new mode called "Lovesick mode," which was basically an even edgier version of Yandere Simulator. He created Lovesick mode by making the game as dark as possible and by renaming Mai Waifu to Mai Wakabayashi to show everyone that he meant business. Oh, and he also disabled all the easter eggs (apart from the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure one, which he seemingly forgot to remove) and for some reason, the debug menu. Yes, even though the game was (and still is) a "debug sandbox."

Unsurprisingly, fan reactions to Lovesick were less than favorable (probably because no one plays Yandere Simulator because it's a serious school hitman simulation thing) and it took Alex a single day to realise that this was a terrible idea, as he almost immediately came up with a new blog post where he basically hid the two-mode screen selection thing. After this, he reverted to his old mindset of trying to convince everyone that Yandere Simulator should be taken seriously, even though he continues to overload it with recolored characters, unnecessary references, easter eggs and dead memes.

After Alex's YanSim kickstarter fails and he disappears off the face of the internet for a few years, he'll probably return looking like this and try to create Lunar Scythe 2 or some stupid shit like that.

I feel... weird, while looking at this.

Actually, not so long ago I was playing with Portrait AI and found something funny.
If you give it pictures of young Alex, the result will be something like this.

But if you give it 30 years old Alex.

Keep in mind, that it makes better job of turning our deer Twitch ambassador into woman, than surgery and his make up skills were able to.

I always assumed that most- if not all- people who play/are fans of Yandere Simulator are in it for the memes and laughs, not because they want a serious, psychological crime game. This is basically hard evidence that Alex is the only one who is clinging to the fantasy that YanSim is a serious game.

He really should just get over himself and embrace the inherent silliness of his game. Just because something is a parody doesn’t mean it can’t be memorable and awesome. Take the anime Kill La Kill for example. It never takes itself too seriously and is unapologetically a pulpy, wacky show that parodies a lot of anime tropes/genres, but everyone involved obviously had a great time making it. Their excitement and care for the show shines through and is infectious for the audience. It doesn’t hurt that there are cool action scenes and genuine character development.

Let's face it, all the self-awareness and pulp probably went over Yandev's head since there are number of half-naked anime chicks to lust over. The only thing he could "learn" is that it's okay to add in more of that sweet lewdness in ANY context as long as it's anime.

Again, he could get away by going with "Running with Scissors" style of game and make it all about pissing all over shitty (or not) anime tropes with healthy dose of edge and legit fun.
Just imagine all this romancing with sempai stuff and maintaining your school life being constantly shaken by wierd happenings mixed with occasional cheezy but violent fights with rivals or just dumb students.
But Alex wants to be big boy dev (or at least look like one), so the game should be only barely meta-parody and he himself has to make compromises in bad way and bouncing between being kinda-ironic and serious, which doesn't work.

I mean, the thing is, it got popular among let's players not because it was anime hitman with super duper assasination mechanics, but because early debugs were just murder death kill sandboxes. Like, you know, that other game I can't shut up about, but more trendy for teens and less controversial. No wonder Yandere Simmulator used to be a gold mine.
