B) Think Chris is at LEAST partially responsible for his shitty life and should do something about it, and likely try to advise him. Which sadly would in all likelihood bring us back to square one:

A better question is what if they had another kid after Chris but against all odds, the kid turns out to be actually fairly smart and decent with a personality that has very little in common with Cole or Chris. And this kid actually bonds with Bob.

Imagine an alternate reality where high school Chris got into things like Warhammer 40k, Doom, things like CRPGs and RTSs, more adult-oriented anime, ect. How different woul Chris be? He'd probably be not much better as a result of his upbringing, but it's still amusing to think of chris making his own mary-sue SM chapter that he's the chapter master of.

He'd also probably be slightly more competent and intelligent, since these hobbies encourage more thought process and critical thinking than something like sonic, from both a gameplay and story perspective. He also probably wouldn't mentally degenerate into what he is now, merely staying at classic-chris levels of insanity. He might even become more right-leaning.
