What's strange is I don't know why. Maybe indies are out there and they aren't being covered, but outside of a few Patreon porn games and perpetual early access trend chasers, the non-SJW indies seemed to have vanished.

It's probably because if people had the initiative to make an indie game, they've probably already done it and moved on to their next game. Most of the biggest indie hits (Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Undertale, etc.) are firmly into 'developing next game' territory, and a lot of the others are late into their patches. And the kickstarter has lost a lot of it's luster since the big games came out.

I don't know if game journos are going to defend the game or not. It's not a soyny exclusive and they likely aren't getting any payola from an indie dev, but she is connected, but I expect the narrative to be in full force by morning if they do go all in.

Rimworld(there's progressive stuff, but it's done tastefully), Kenshi, Underrail, Divinity Original Sin 2, Empires of the Underground(early access ant colony sim), Katana ZERO, Grim Dawn, Ghost of a Tale, Project Zomboid, the DreadOut series, Factorio, Graveyard Keeper. There's plenty of indies that are at least tasteful when it comes to the progressive stuff. Just need to dig.
