How often do cities get their bailouts after shit like this? Maybe "Room to destroy" policies exist because cities can count on the feds paying for it if things get out of hand.

I would argue that's never happened. Usually when cities and states are in a state of emergency, the national guard is the first on their calling-list.

Not declaring a state of emergency and invoking the Nat Guard tells me there's "nothing to see here folks, move along, move along!"

3. The police just got defunded by about 24% in NYC, which means the fact that Nassau cops make a pittance compared to their Suffolk counterparts just got much worse. If you think that anyone remotely involved with Law enforcement will back any establishment democrat in this lifetime after this, you're fucking insane.

4. NYC already had countless residents flee the city over the COVID lockdowns. It then had a massive number of people flee the city over the riots. This was after all the other shit that happened during the lead-up to 2020. There was already billions in budgetary shortfall for NYC, and there is no way on God's green earth that the city won't go bankrupt from this.

5. Everyone hates the fucking lockdowns and hates the rioters even more.

6. Suffolk will not bail Nassau out, and will not tolerate the bullshit like NYC would. Suffolk's cops are financed and trained locally, so don't worry about us, we've got our own towns east of the shithead zone relatively secure.

The conclusion of all this: It is coming across to NYers that the current administration in NYC intentionally fucked the state up because the average New Yorker refused to go along with their shithead policies. AOC's shit was dead in the water popularity-wise ages ago and Cuomo and Deblasio have successfully managed to make themselves the most hated administrators in NY history, and this is in a state where John Lindsey was a governer.

NYC's core may be hardcore progressive, but the rest of the state's been chafing under the current batch of loons for a while and there's been increasing pressure from LI and Upstate to throw these assholes out. There was calls for DeBlasio's job due to his fucking incompetence in 2019, and now there's so much obvious evidence that they're effectively doing this for their own egoes that it's causing even old-guard Progressives to go: "OK, hold up, no, this shit's insane."

They know their time's running out, so they're choosing to dick us as hard as they possibly can while not even having the decency to buy us dinner first.

So they traded their long-term union funding base for a quick cash injection from BLM? That sounds like something someone with high time preference would do, maybe they are genuine representatives of the black community after all.

No shit, welcome to every DNC strategy discussion in the aftermath of the 2016 election. But why don't they have another Obama ?

Or more to the point, will another Obama even be excepted by the American left at this point or in the near future ?

If his secretary of state and VP both lose I don't see them stepping back and examining why, they'll probably go the way of the UK or Australian left and keep adopting extremist positions and wondering why they keep losing.

What pisses me off the most is that Black Lives Matter, which is simply another political activist organization who’s founders are getting rich off of alleged racism, has shoehorned itself into being the only way to be against racism. It’s so that the Democratic Party can try to cement itself as the anti racists or the only party trying to get rid of racism because Blm is supported by ActBlue
