You don't really understand love or friendship until you find someone that is really ready to show it to you. It's so rare, you might start to think it doesn't exist, and then you find that one person willing to show you it. Then when you realize that shit isn't always a fairy tale you realize just how sick and horrible this world is, with the people in it, knowing that no matter how hard you try and how much you put in, they will never return it because of their fly-by-night characters.
I'm still friends with my ex--it fell apart for various reasons and I ended it--and her loyalty was like someone out of a movie and story book and not like the people I met in real life. Though we've grown apart I've listed her as my sole beneficiary on my finances because her kindness and loyalty are one-in-a-million and there's no better person I know I'd want to inherit my shit if I go. Why is this relevant? Because she's a black chick, leaning liberal, but not an ideologue, not a maniac, a person you can talk to calmly and reason with. This was a black chick who, instead of screaming about oppression like the people this thread highlights, she would laugh and sing Johnny Rebel songs with me and all that shit.
This gets me back to to the nature and character of people today. These protesters? They are maniacs. They are disasters in their personal lives. They are disloyal people. They are hurtful and hateful people that bathe themselves in a narcissistic glow of righteousness to self-promote and win admiration, and power. They will twist your words to make an example out of you, they will sabotage your social lives, and they will probably even physically hurt you if they feel emboldened. They're not willing to discuss or entertain. You can criticize airheads like Dave Rubin all you like for seeming to "pander" to conservatives and spew their talking points but the fact is, moderates are teaming up with conservative-lite because they don't have a home on the left anymore. And there's so few of THEM and so many WHACKJOBS. You can't joke with them and if you love them they will ruin you in return. Chances are they sleep around ("polyamory!") steal from friends, lie, and are generally motivated by spite and, like much of the alt-right, blaming their personal failures on oppression from other ethnic groups.
The fact that there's no evidence that anything racial happened with George Floyd and it was just police brutality or something and yet we still have these riots shows this isn't about George Floyd. This is about the increasingly radical leftwing ideology forming in America, and it's here, and it's mainstream. When mainstream media and corporations start defending, advocating for, and following the talking points of groups that LITERALLY have anarchist and communist iconography in their logos then you know there is something DEEPLY sick in a large portion of the population.
If there is a silent sensible majority in America--and I don't believe there is based on all the people I see and interact with every day--they are the ones with no power and will be rendered silent and marginalized socially and economically.
