That kind of thing is mandated over in Ireland, or at least it used to be. You can't/couldn't be garda in your home town. From what I've been told, it just shifts policing problems elsewhere.

Cops are going to go where they are valued and respected. You know who replaces them? I can tell you firsthand, having lived through the worst period of the New Orleans Police Department. Gangbangers smart enough to have avoided serious trouble is who replaces them. You get a bunch of guys with gang tattoos selling their badges to everyone from drug traffickers to murderers. I've heard stories of guys buying their way out of everything from murder charges to rape charges. It's pretty easy to believe those stories when you see the cops, themselves, being arrested by the fucking feds for contract murder and drug trafficking. Bob's a fucking moron in this, as in all things, if he thinks any of this bullshit is going to make the streets of blue cities any safer.

I really don't understand how people keep missing the Bechtlof stream where a guy who hung out with Movieblob in this really dumb Euphoric Atheist group talks about how Bob believed he was given a holy mission by Miyamoto to slay the gamer bros with a sword of light.

Him having a dead dog was mentioned in that stream.

There’s been a bit of carping in the critical in regards to Mrs. Carmody as a character, or rather the film’s unsubtle implication that The Faithful can be a lot more hateful and deadly than even the creepiest-crawler. To those folks, I reccomend that they hit up Google and take a fresh look at that big freaking crater in the middle of Manhattan. Yeah, Carmody is a being of one-dimensional evil, a “human” entirely void of humanity thanks to their singular devotion to spiritual self-righteousness… and the world is crawling with them. What makes her scary is that she’s entirely recognizable – even if you don’t want to admit it. What makes her possibly the best Bad Guy of 2007 is that Harden pulls it off.
