Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I guess Palpatines ten minute rant about how much he hated Plagueis never happened then?
I'd hate to double post, but behold everyone of ambiguous gender identification in this brave new world...! The literary genius of Disney's most recent Amidala novel that replaced Darth Plagueis as Palpatine's backstory novel and was praised as heartwarming and brilliant by Disney neophytes.

So for more good or fun news (IMO), the next episode of Jedi Temple Challenge came out:

Good news is they definitely are improving somewhat with each new episode. Ahmed and Mary are getting better at working off of each other, and the editing is getting stronger. They also have shown they can and will change up the Jedi Temple set up given there's new obstacles, meaning it won't be samey.

Only thing they need to change up every now and again now is the Test of Strength sometimes. Even then, they did change up some of the receivers on one of the challenges. Story was okay this episode, still innocent with the stories, but neat nonetheless.

Definitely shows the show has promise.

I'm really happy for Ahmed. Hes in a good place now. Definite middle finger to the idiots who wished him dead.

Can we please stop making these people ugly and boring as fuck for once?
Visually appealing designs for female characters? The fuck do you think this is, the Expanded Universe?

So is there any update when Disney can start up production again once COVID-19 eases a little? I gotta a feeling when they do, Lucasfilm will see some significant cuts to their slate, especially since Indy 5 saw their screenwriter, who wrote the last one actually, left the project.

I think they have plans to reopen on July 11, but workers have supposedly been criticizing this. They've also said that there's going to be a lot of strict anti-Covid measures.

In other news, it looks like the backstabbing 501st cosplay autists are embroiled in another moronic controversy due to wanting to fuck over their Chicago counterparts and one of their former leaders.

How the exceptional have fallen. Even a dumb and harmless charity group of costumed dorks has become a dramatic mess under Disney.

Also Adam Driver once again points out that Han and Leia were shitty parents (which was mentioned multiple times following TFA's expanded media and interviews with cast and director) who cared more about their social status than their own son. Bravo Disney on shitting on more legacies and degrading characters for the sake of your OCs. And another thing that just felt repulsive about how people thought TFA was a love letter to past characters.

Edit:
That field of vision looks even more limited on the TIE than the other ships now that I look at it again. The old format definitely doesn't seem like it might translate well to modern consoles unless this is a sign of how this was made for VR originally.

I expect Squadrons to be plagued by publisher interference and micro transactions up the ass.

lol that looks like the old bullshit games would do to hide the fact there was fuckall they could put onscreen at once

I feel like I should add that I do like the fact that they've added more playable aliens as an option, which was something a lot of past games even before Disney were in desperate need of. But considering the nature of the game, you'll hardly ever see your character in action outside of a barely interactive social hub, so there's not much of a point really.

Almost every SW community (even those I was a part of) have fallen for the Disney bait, even old IRC channels, all SW related forums, and even the 4chan threads have been hijacked by Disney shills and even people and friends I've known for years just up and turned their backs on everything to slob Disney's knob. Even the Russian Star Wars imageboard is nothing but Disney wankery. The only upside is that after Disney's crap most of those communities pretty much lost half their activity, only having a sudden rise now because of Filoni Wars' damn final season which brought in nothing but waifuism. The biggest hypocrisy is when they adamantly defended Disney when they took over and shat on anything that came before Disney (despite consuming it themselves until it was no longer trending) but then happily praising or turning a blind eye when Disney pulled the exact same shit or did something worse, but they just can't admit that they were hypocrites or obsessed with popular trends and empty online hype. Like people who bitch about the Vong yet get eagerly excited for Disney's Grysk story arc and hope they do what the Vong did but worse. Or people who bitched about the Thrawn trilogy being overrated yet then cream their pants and screamed in hype when he showed up in Rebels. I just hope the masses just end up rejecting Disney's shit entirely at some point and these soy chugging consoomers implode in on themselves. The only sad part is the communities will all end up dead, what with old fans either converting to Disney diehards or most moving onto 40k day by day.

Expect to see more of this in media out of spite, especially if the Last of Us 2 is anything to go by. That game and others like it could flop but they'll still keep on repeating the same mistakes as long as they believe that they're teaching a lesson to society.
I seem to remember that a lot of the wankery is literal paid shillery. Mainly because I seem to remember quite a few of these people you keep overreacting about (seriously, cut them they're worthless like R5-D4 was in the movie), not shilling anywhere near as hard during Disney's worst broke periods. No moola, no product shilling for artificial interest. Hell, you even admit it died by around half...

I legit don't regard a single thing they say, because it feels like a mix of paid corporate, desperate buyer's remorse, pedophiles, and the idiocy of continuing to waste energy and oxygen on a franchise that is basically gay fanfiction that doesn't sell beyond a kid's gameshow they'll probably rape, and a Lone Wolf and Cub inspired western they've confirmed they're going to rape.

Reject the darkside and begone from those mind parasites.

Back on Spacebattles in 2000-03 it was speculated TIEs had a few holo screens to cover for the blind spots. Reason for speculation is what appears to be one of right behind Vader's head and him constantly looking off to the side of main viewport. But alas the OT Incredible Cross Sections came out and shot that theory down.

For anyone interested, here's the cross-section in question of the TIE Advanced and the TIE Bomber:

Although I don't think it necessarily denies that the screens are part of some holo targeting system.

Happening:
In other news, Disney has goofed up again somehow and the new Alphabet Soup Squadron book that was supposed to tie in with the new EA game was released prematurely in a Barnes and Nobles somewhere a few days ago (despite that Disney originally planned for it to be released only on the 23rd and 25th), so now leaks are in the Disney drone circles and some are getting pissed because the main polyamorous pansexual lead of the story was actually an evil imperial spy all along (but knowing Disney its some double agent bullshit since they'd never let a bbq character be painted as an unforgivable villain unless the whole world was to blame for her evil).

Also here are the playable maps for the EA Squadrons game that are known so far.
1592628137166.png

1: Yavin Prime, the red gas giant that Yavin 4 and its other siblings orbit.

2: Esseles, an old EU planet referenced a lot in the SWA journals and prequel media that some Imperial factions fled to after the big divide on Endor in old canon. It was a human and bothan colony that was a major manufacturing world, so maybe this game will finally feature bothans, unless its the human "reimagined" ones that Porgcuck won't shut up about. So far it looks like the only campaign based on an EU event even though it was a minor one, however you don't get to visit the planet itself and only fight along its ring.

3: Nadiri Dockyards... a location created by Chuck Wendig is brought to life... FUCK.

4: Sissubo, an obscure old EU planet that was only ever mentioned once and never seen. A shame we had to see it under Disney.

5: Ringali Nebula, a location briefly seen in some old prequel comics. Apparently you visit a moon there.

6: Zavian Abyss, the game's only original location.

I still can't believe they had to throw Chuck another bone while still acknowledging one of the worst books ever published under a major banner. Also there's a rumor going around that B-Wings and TIE-Defenders may be included in this game due to some leaked shit I have yet to find, so take it with a grain of salt.

Seriously, WHY IS IT CALLED ALPHABET SQUADRON???

Of all the insane shit both before and after Disney, why is this breaking me? I had no problem with the tiny furry Flash in Ewoks 2. Even Ashoka and Aphra could have their moments. This? This is what's breaking me!

Maybe because it keeps making me think of Sesamee Street. Like that would be the name of the squad in a star wars parody sketch they would do. It's like as if Star Wars suddenly revealed that Mogs were an actual species in the galaxy.

(Although muppets flying starships would be awesome.)

Listening to the Thrawn Trilogy through Audible for the first time in about a decade. Man, those are the real sequels to Episode VI.

Luke is growing as a Jedi, Mara Jade is an interesting new character, Han and Leia are still together, and Thrawn and Joruus C'baoth are great villains. Even "side characters" (as the sequels would put them) like C-3PO, R2-D2, Lando, and Chewbacca have things to do in the plot (almost like they're main characters...)

Down with Disney!

The TT audiobooks are probably some of the best in the series after the Plagueis audiobook.

Anyway, some bothersome or mixed news ahead.

Rumor has it that Squadrons will feature characters from Filoni Wars as well, possibly Ahsoka and a clone trooper named Hawk and also Rex, possibly as cameos or full fledged characters alongside Filoni's green twilek Hera.

The Star of Galaxy's Edge, Vi Moradi, may be getting a new book by her creator because I guess she really wants to force this character to be loved. If Disney approves it, I'll take it as a sign that they have no intention to improve GE.

The Kenobi series is still in ambiguous development but Ewan says that it hasn't been abandoned and is still being worked on, but it is said that it will feature the "same technology" from Mandalorian. It better not be those stupid tracking gizmos since they're the weakest part of the Mandalorian that take away from the thrill of the hunt and scouring for info.

Aladdin's Rebels will apparently be getting a new show starring Sabine, Ahsoka and Rex, and Filoni Wars will be getting more episodes, but none of them are based on the unused scripts, instead it will serve as a prequel to Aladdin's Rebels and star the "Bad Batch" clones with Ahsoka and Rex as supporting characters because we can't adapt the unused Filoni Wars episodes since all except one don't focus on Ahsoka... which I'm sure it might get adapted.
1592673595980.png

So much for the "final season". This will serve as the "final piece" that links the prequels to Aladdin's Rebels which links to the OT, although why they couldn't just do a CGI Underworld like George and the old team wanted is beyond me... Oh yeah, because Ahsoka wasn't in it and George wanted her dead. The Aladdin Rebels sequel will likely be about finding Aladdin and killing Thrawn because why not.

And Ahsoka and Rex will be in the Mandalorian so that's not new. So far all the major projects will star Ahsoka because she makes peepees hard.

Only new project that doesn't involve Ahsoka (aside from Vi Moradi as far as we know but she could be in there) as far as we know, is a "tie-in" to IX book called Dark Legends which takes place thousands of years ago and contains several "Dark Side" stories, one of which retcons Exogol to be the origin of the Sith per some concept artist and JJ's wishes, despite Korriban/Morraband having been their origin for decades and even in Filoni Wars shit, but hey Hidalgo and JJ will just not give a fuck.

1592675767034.jpeg

The book will recanonize lightwhips from old canon Its actually a shitty curved lightsaber that's bended into a cane shape (@Flexo you're a bending unit, any takes?). I mean what purpose could it serve that a regular saber doesn't already do? At least a lightwhip has more range and is basically an extending deadly laser snake you can control through the Force, but what does curling a lightsaber accomplish? Anyway it will feature a Palpatine analogue and a zombie-like Vader analogue in a Rule of Two type deal before that rule should even exist, and who founded the throne on planet blackballs, and the characters are described as being the Frankenstein and Igor of Star Wars. Another story is called Blood Moon and will be the first Disney story focusing entirely on the seemingly forgotten Shistavanen species who will be treated as some kind of werewolf analogue. Another one is called Predecessor which is about Vader choking some guy and apparently the first Sith. Judging from the Frankenstein and Wolfman references, I suspect this will basically be a book about Universal Monsters but with Star Wars. A generic vampire will likely appear since Disney already made them canon, bat transformation and all, except they eat energy and not blood cuz we gotta make sure no blood is found.

In brighter news, the first Star Wars Racer game is getting released on the Switch in a few days and Star Wars Celebration has been cancelled until 2022 at most.
