The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I love how journalists only really complain about the review bombing when it's one of their pet games.

A while back Doom Eternal got review bombed following a patch that forced players to install Denuvo Anti Cheat, which caused horrible performance issues, made the game unplayable on Linux, was basically spyware, and was mandatory even if you only played single-player (which was most of the game's player base anyway). Of course, people who were big fans of the game weren't happy. It was review bombed to hell on Steam, and for good reason; it was an unsightly blemish on an otherwise amazing game that really didn't need to be there. Outside of like one publication condemning the review bombing and saying it wouldn't change anything (spoiler alert, they were dead wrong), most outlets reported on the bombing rather matter-of-factly and addressing the concerns that the fans had regarding Denuvo.

Doom Eternal was also a special case in that the people doing the negative reviews loved the game, they just didn't want this spyware installed on their machines. The Last of Us 2 doesn't have that caveat that it's a good game buried beneath ill-advised business decisions. It's a shit story that even fans of the first one hate. Nobody doing the bombing here is doing it out of respect for TLOU 2 nor are they doing it to send a message. They're angry they bought a shitty game, no more, no less. But of course, to journalists it has to be more insidious than that so they have to paint them as villains who hate gays.
calling any significant amount of neg reviews a "review bomb" is disingenuous anyway

tlou2 is simply getting bad feedback from people who don't like the game. that is NOT a review bomb, no matter how many jounalists say "but you dislike it for the wrong reasons so your opinion is invalid"

an example for an actual review bomb is what happened to dota2 a few years ago. in 2012 valve ran a helloween event called "diretide", it was a funny little minigame about collecting candy. one year later, in 2013, valve said that there won't be a diretide this year, which resulted in hordes of angry dotards flooding review sites with "0/10 VALVE GIVE DIRETIDE OR RIOT" reviews. THAT is actual review bombing.

Every time we get some sequel shit, the last jedi, any disney star wars, really. GOT past the book writing, every fuckin' reboot they trot out, why does everyone still fall for it? They keep buying and consuming this shit while giving it free publicity and pushing the hashtags thinking they're helping themselves when all they do is further incentivize this garbage.

If you bought this game with money, you deserve the misery. Not researching a modicum of these shitstains before buying means you're the kind of fart-tard that needs to have hours wasted and enthusiasm spit upon. And go fuck that he/she at the bar, they've expressed interest in you and it's transphobia if you don't let them chili-ring you with their 4" chick-dick.

tlou2 on the other hand is simply getting bad feedback from people who don't like the game. that is NOT a review bomb, no matter how many jounalists say "but you dislike it for the wrong reasons so your opinion is invalid"

They're not even trashing it for having LGBT alphabetti spaghetti characters though. They're trashing it for being the shitshow of bad writing and stupid that it is and for stomping all over any character development in pursuit of cheap shock points. Maybe one in ten negative user reviews refers to "SJWs" or "wokeness."

So basically Druckmann went to the Ryan Johnson Academy. How long before he blames the game's negative reception on Russian bots ?

after bolton claiming trump is chummy with winnie it's all chinese influence now actually.

Any tranny not gulping down the kool aid should be offended by Abby. Druckman is basically saying a trans woman is just a man with long hair (I know guys but hear me out) which is not something they should want to hear but hey what do I know about wokeness.

that's exactly how it works tho. that's why they're celebrating "representation" in settings where it makes zero sense like fantasy where you can actually become the other gender, 100%. it's not woke if you don't tell everyone you where another gender at some point, because that's what gender dysphoria is all about! but not too much else you veer off into deadnaming!
same shit with the retarded ableism adding wheelchairs etc in scifi because "maybe he chose to be a cripple having to shit in a bag for the rest of his life?! check your privilege bigot!"

Let's not forget the part where Sony got in legal shit for spending a 3 mil to get their own employees to give fake average reviews
CBS did a huge story on it and how they had to pay a few hundred thousand over it, and claimed they wouldn't make fictitious reviews anymore
But they never said they wouldn't still pay off real reviewers
If they are willing to break the law for fake nobody reviews then lord knows what review related laws they're breaking that we ARENT aware of

Reading this post makes me wondering if they are doing this shit in purpose, they want to "gotcha" us by making us ask the same things they also ask: "why does this movie need a sex scene?", "why does this character need to be naked?", "why does this female character have big breasts?"

Then you have a character with a very specific disgusting body and of course, their new "gotcha" is "what? you only have sex scenes you can masturbate too?" or "you don't like trans sex? Hater!"

Eek, called it.

I honestly wonder what these people think sex scenes in non-pornography media are for. It's not for masturbating, obviously, but they are meant to appeal your sexual instincts, just like jokes make you laugh or dramatic scenes are meant to make you emotional. Rape scenes are expected to make you feel revolted, but sensual, erotic, or sexual scenes are meant to make you understand that the characters lust for each other, it's very sexually charged, it's meant to be.

I guess this lady sees a sex scene and starts wondering what's the meta linguistic symbolism of the number of pulsations per minute made in each thrust. Sure, lady. Sure.

Something I've been mulling lately is this depressing slide into nihilism in our media. We used to focus on what we had in common, and post apocalypse writing usually had a hopeful element. The idea that after a collapse we refocus on our humanity and build it all back up after the initial growing pains was taken for granted.
Can someone explain why the people in charge of these things prattle on about how righteous and enlightened they are, yet they put out nothing but propaganda basically blackpilling people on the idea of barely even surviving? For acting like they have the best interests of mankind at heart, it doesn't seem to affect the actual fruits of their labor. They say they're planting delicious apples, but every time the tree grows we get this shit, misshapen, turd-flavored, garbage. Then they say we're assholes and cavement for wanting sweet, crispy apples.

It's problematic to like, apples, you see. not all fruit is delicious, and it really hurts the feelings for those who grow crabapples, so we'll all force ourselves to play along and munch sour, hard, crabbles while complimenting how 'wonderful' 'amazing' and 'filling' they are.

What I hate most is disabled characters in sci fi used to be cool as shit. But the more they try to shove ableism down people the crapper they actually become.

I think sex scenes have little to no place in modern media. Originally it was titillating, and it drove viewership because grown adults were too uptight to wander to some shithole and buy VHS porn. The most sexual content they would see would be on-screen, so a director was smart to figure out some story-driven way to of introducing titties and some fluffy growler shots of whatever actress was willing to show it. Guys watched all kinds of awful, terrible movies because it had just enough artistic content to give a believable pretense of enjoyment.

Porn is everywhere, so really, that factor is gone. Lots of the boomers in charge are still stuck in that past, so they think it's shocking and daring to include sex, not realizing the 11 year old with an Iphone has already finished through the catalog of brazilian whores getting dicked down by a stable of horses.

Oh look. They're all Naughty Dog games.

Eek, called it.

It's not erotic to watch a pseudish soy-bearded knob-jockey listlessly thrusting at a trannybuilder while she makes drugged-out facial expressions. How much sex I've had in my life has nothing to do with that whatever.

They'll lose in the end. Men want beautiful women and the modern standard of beauty hasn't changed in nearly a century. Victorians tried, these puritans will try, but they'll always lose. We'll always want fan service. We will always want tits.

There's literally nothing they can do to stop this, and people will always be around to sell sex.
See Twitter and the rampant anthropomorphism of weeb/gaming shit.

Even shit infested with wokeness like comics/Star Wars still get sexed up by Twitter.

Hell even women want to be pretty, the lazy uggos/Troons are a minority that only has power thanks to hipster trust fund brats using them as accessories to show "totally tolerant and cool" they are and dumbass boomers/politicians thinking losers screaming on Twitter reflects majority opinion.

It seems to trite to constantly say it, but its social justice theory again. It is a non-theistic religion that is at the core inherently nihilistic. Its an all encompassing theory of everything that exists only to deconstruct existing systems of thought and being but offers no redemptive path, or the ability to create something new. Its no small wonder its adherents (basically anyone getting churned out of a university these days) are so angry and black pilled by just about anything. And why they seem to take such glee in seeing existing IP's ruined and the fans shrieking about it.
