The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Watching Pewdiepie's stream. It's glorious. You can hear his enthusiasm draining as he plays through the game. I lost it when he came out with "Imagine these graphics but for a different game."

I've always seen him as a sort of everyman that understands he has to play by the woke rules to stay in the entertainment industry.

He doesn't believe in any of it and his reaction to this game is what most guys like him will honestly have to it.

That whole premise was moronic. If there were some humans immune to an otherwise species-ending plague, killing them would be utterly insane. The non-immune would be basically evolutionary chaff, and sacrificing all of them to save even the few immune ones would be a more sensible choice than killing even one of them to save the unfit.

Reality is anyone immune to this plague would become very useful to a community very quickly and treated as such. They'd become your scouts, your scavengers, your clearout soldiery. With them you'd be able to reclaim territory without risking "the unworthy".

These people would be rewarded with perks and privileges accordingly you'd have people trying to sleep with them to see if the immunity could be carried on.

It's the same idiotic logic in Waterworld, where Kevin Costner's character has gills and the townspeope try and murder him instead of paying him in blowjobs and food to go get shit for them from the drowned world below.

Hmm. No PR spin on anything by ND or Sony? No "Sales smash all time records*, incel Russian Bots destroyed!" article?
(*Note: Sales do not actually smash all time records except a very specific one)

If one doesn't arrive within a few days, that would strongly imply that there is no positive spin at all they can come up with..

To be honest I expect one today
There's probably one that says FASTEST SELLING which means nothing.

How many people, who are actually into the guitar enough to the point they're shell out 2K for one when there's a lot of good shit under 500, will buy the gimmick guitar because of a mixed-reviews at best video game?
High-end guitars retain value throughout the years (assuming the owner takes care of them), low or even mid-range ones don't, despite prices going up for the past 10 years. So you feel a lot less guilty buying a $4k Gibson, knowing in the back of your mind that you can simply sell it in the future for nearly full retail price.

With that said I doubt anything related to TLoU2 is going to retain value, let alone achieve collector status.

whats funny is from a quick glance at a search it seems like theres at least some feminists who really are worried about big breast representation, i for one look forward to when the pressing feminist issue of our time is having more breasts in gaming.

It'd be funny if things go full circle like that, but some women really do have big breasts, so if we want to be "realistic" that's just how it should be.

Regarding the lack of zombies - you've got groups from the city Joel and Ellie live in going out specifically to kill any zombies in the area on a regular basis, other cities are probably acting similarly plus ~25 years after the initial outbreak it makes sense that the zombies are running out of readily available sustenance - a lot of them also froze to death so I wasn’t really surprised at the lack of zombies - it would've probably been weirder if they'd somehow been able to keep their numbers up under those circumstances. The lack of zombies would've been fine by me if the focus had remained with the characters we've grown to love since the story itself was never that interesting to begin with if not for the interactions between Joel and Ellie.
His death was just disappointing and I found myself not blaming MA'AM Abby or any other in-game circumstances but the creators, so there definitely was lack of immersion. If they’d managed to make me get angry at Abby instead... well. I guess that would’ve been something at least.

The zombies in Last of Us are not normal zombies though, they can spread just through the spores in the air, not just bites, so I actually wouldn't expect the numbers to significantly decrease only 5 years after the first game.

it's funny watching robingaming play through this. he likes it at first, and thinks all the complaints about the game were valid, but heavily exaggerated. but as the game wears on his opinion gradually gets worse until he realizes the story is exactly as bad as he heard it was (still likes the gameplay apparently). his growing apprehension as he approaches the abby sex scene is priceless.

he knows it's coming because he got spoiled on it, but it doesn't help.

lmao, his face says it all.

I just watched a playthrough of the first game and it's made me realize why the sex scene and Druckmann's other antics absolutely fail.

It's an absolute tonal shift from the first game, with the first game being about surviving during bleak times with companionship. Meanwhile Druckmann's master vision being a bunch of wacky hijinks strung together with heaps of misery and the zombies loosely in the background.

In additon to IGN Japan giving it a lower score, the game is apparently getting massively reviewed bombed in China and Korea as well. Asians hate it more than Americans

A Korean guy on /v/ said that this streamer had recently lost his father to cancer and didn't handle the father guy in the game getting killed too well and just simply didn't want to play anymore.
and resetera literally just called him "unstable"

wow, so much standing up against bullying

Someone mentioned coming up with a better plot. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

How about this one? We've already established Ellie's immunity is symbiotic, not just 'fuckoffspores'.

Here's the jump: what if humans with said symbiosis can start influencing or controlling the zombies? Yeah, I'm lifting a bit from Starcraft here; but here's where things get fun and creepy:

Ellie's not the only 'symbiote' out there. There's one (let's call him Karl) who's gone a BIT further along the tech tree for 'take control of zombies'. Why aren't there as many zombies around? Because Karl's snatching them up, 'programming' them, and putting them to work. He's not out to rule the world, but he's trying to rebuild his corner of it, and it's dawned on him that he's going to need help. Not just extra hands, but the symbiotic genes need to be passed down.

And lo and behold, there's young, reasonably nubile Ellie.

What follows is probably one of the most deranged three-way chase scenes in a video game. You still have Abby (who is either a guy or a girl, PICK ONE FUCKER) trying to track down who killed her dad for revenge. You have Joel and Ellie just trying to get the fuck away. And you have Karl who is trying to bring Ellie in so he can sire more symbiote-humans with her. He'll happily cut a deal with Ellie -- heck, Karl could use a guy like Joel on his side -- but he's absolutely convinced that humanity can't just shoot and burn its way out of this mess, and that they need to 'spawn more overlords'.

Yeah, I know, sounds like fetish fuel, but probably still better than what Dumbfuckermann puked onto the disc.

Does this deserve its own thread? we can just put this on the 'SJW art and extremes' thread anyway.
Just wait till Dragon Age 4 drops. They might just surpass Cassandra and Sera.

Maybe it does need it's own. What BioWare did to Cassandra in Inquisition is, oddly, very similar to Abby, except for head dimensions. There was a modder who went to rebuild her head mesh and discovered that the proportions were all male. They literally just put her face on a male head and once he fixed it, she was back to looking close to what she did in DA2. It had to be deliberate too, since other female characters don't suffer from the same problems.
