You know. I can't help but notice. Ok let me explain.
As some of you know due to interactions on the CHAZ thread I've started preparing to make a thread about tales from the most beautiful country on this world, spain, which I am absolutely not biased about at all so you can trust my objective assessment that I am in fact not shilling. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Point is. I decided to start with the tale of Cadiz's Carnaval. A tradition devoted to freedom of speech. And one which the fascists attempted to censor in 1936 to avoid criticism towards their actions. In their censorship, the forces of the Axis murdered many, many civilians for having participated in prior years, and criticized their army and the church.
Point is... When I read that first thread, this one:
I cannot help but notice that it is indeed the EXACT SAME FUCKING ARGUMENT the fascists used to justify. Claiming the people they executed were subversive terrorists that wanted to erode the morale of the population to let the country fall into anarchocomunism. And that they should have total control of the media to ensure these terroristic elements can't use it to harm the population.
He claims the far left and far right are somehow innately distinct. But I must be blind because I sure as shit can't spot the difference. But what do I know. It's not like my country still bears the marks left behind by those who used that reasoning to justify their actions.
