Just saw a twitter thread about the fireworks in NYC (don't know if anyone else posted it but if it wasn't I'll edit with a link). God people are really fucking shocked about something that happens every fucking year in the summer in NYC. People buy a bunch of fireworks from outside the city, come back, and turn shit up every night even past the 4th because they can't read a calendar. Sometimes you even hear gunshots, whether it's gang related or more summer madness depends on the block.

I don't buy it but it's definitely a nogger jogger how the reaction to it has been so simultaneous and coordinated. A ton of companies with links to each other published the same online pictures with the same colors and the same format saying the same things while groups of people immediately organized saying the same things and doing the same things worldwide. I don't have a stockpile of water filters and satellite photos of gay frogs, but I can't deny something about it all just feels off. As in aside, at my work there is a young black guy just getting started with his life. He had no idea what an IRA is, how to save money, or how money even worked in general. I've spent the last week during breaks helping him out, and he called the same investment firm I am using to run my IRA to start setting it up. He's only 20 so if what I said actually stuck he will be thanking me in 40 years.

I believe the bricks being planted more than the fireworks being planted. At least the bricks had an actual goal (Destroy infrastructure to bring revolution or w/e the fuck). These people think fireworks are being planted because they think it's for...disrupting the protests by making sure nobody sleeps?
