If it's after the nomination, he probably still is on the ballot(especially depending on how close to election it is), but the Vice President essentially is running for the office, and we'd have some weird post-humorous inauguration/succession in January. I currently think that is kind of the plan. Biden is being kept sequestered until Nomination, VP pick(which is why it's taking so long, especially after Biden severely narrowed the field) will be DNC's chosen candidate, Biden will bail on the first debate and the VP will fill in, and then take over the run after Biden retires due to 'sudden and unpredictable health complications'(his dementia growing for years).

I hope that Biden brings up Russia in the debates with Trump, because he can use that against him.

I’m still curious at to how Trump will get out of this. That said, Joe has yet to debate Trump and he hasn’t chosen a VP, so things will change once those things start to happen.
