Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

Logan demanding she retain her COO position if a future sale goes through will be enjoyable. You know Jeffrey/whomever purchases SA doesn't have a hope in hell of having the goons on their side.

Logan will burn down the new owners when they tell her she's fired/never had the job to begin with.

Logan isn't leaving SA without a payday or she'll take the site down with her. Or they bend the knee and they are forced to retain a mentally unstable drunk and let her run wild on the forums.

I would bet real world currency that Logan will be made an admin again and the be one allowed to ban Lowtax's account.

So much this, they for sure have fantasies of bernie showing up to the white house in jan with an army of poc transwymen to physically remove a defiant fat orange baby trump from the grounds, logan banning the founder from his forums will be a nice gay e-standin for that.

edit: Also since goons are reading the thread here, and you presented the idea, they can't not do this now.

Logan: Ok prester, on my mark we both turn our key to delete richard's eneticon appliance media access control addresses from the forum, 3, 2, 1, Mark!

Logan: wtf?

Logan: (pointing pistol that yesterday belonged to lowtax) Xir, we have a ban order. Turn your key xir.

What amazes me is it’s never occurred to Lowtax to do anything but entirely blame women for this disaster and throw a fit. Not even a message thanking goons for giving him $130,000 over the past year. “if you feel the need to pull your monthly donation right now, I understand, but thanks for your support the last year, it meant a lot to me.”

Nope. Lowtax is a perfect example of why crisis PR managers are a thing. He is a case study in doing every thing as wrong as possible.

Being a defensive, petty asshole slinging insults at everyone and feeling the most sorry for himself, rather than the common sense of being humble, reflective and showing gratitude for the free six figures he got for over a year.

Im think Lowtax is defensive because he is an asshole and did just take free goon money to live like a white trash pill head with lots of money to burn.

Given this state affairs he really should red pill and start selling “blame women” merch.

Why should he thank them? That's money he EARNED by having had other people build SA for free.

There is/was a goonette living in China teaching English. I believe she lived in Fuzhou.

could be a little pubey headed kid walking around in china now knowing he needs something that he's never seen before and knows nothing about, it's just an intense unknown desire inside him and even if it one day somehow became less abstract than that, he doesn't have the language or the cultural understanding to scream "gordberry" at his mom.

Lol, JK, that's an impossibility, I've heard how their ob/gyns work over there.

This does make one wonder how Logan affords all her therapy and meds. She’s not employed and her dream job at SA was never going to offer health insurance. She can’t still be on her parents insurance since she’s out of school and too old now anyway. Maybe Logan is on Medicaid which is why a non-paying job at SA was a-ok for her.

Even rich parents can’t pay out of pocket for mental health care for very long. Maybe the mormons have some helpful scheme in Utah for it.

This part makes me wonder, as well.

She's not well-insured - the vast majority of American insurance comes through your employer. If you don't have an employer, as she did not (there's no way Lowtax was actually employing her, with like I-9 work authorization forms and everything, because those take effort and money and taxes), then you're paying for "insurance" which is really expensive and really shitty.

So even though those pills may be only a couple hundred bucks per month (someone mentioned 10% of $1400 if you're lucky), they're going to need to be prescribed by a psychiatrist. That's another couple hundred dollar office visit. Therapy tacks on another couple hundred a month, again out-of-pocket.

Being mentally ill in America is very fucking expensive.

Again, though, I have no idea how disability works, maybe more of that shit is covered if you're disabled? Is she? Can you get disability for bipolar?

You can get disability for it if you've been hospitalized a few times and insurance programs vary by state. The healthcare.gov exchange is still a thing and can take your premium payments down to zero based on income. You will have deductible and copay like any other plan, but the government subsidizes your premiums. That's if she doesn't qualify for Medicaid in her home state. She's been flying back and forth and taking her meds from what it looks like (meds don't exactly fix the crazy).

I doubt she's actually on disability though because there's a threshold on how much money you're allowed to make and still qualify, and what you do make is generally taken out of your benefit payments i.e. you essentially work for free.

If she's a contractor then SA will still need to give her and anyone else making $600 for the year or more a 1099-MISC. lol if he's actually doing that, but it's also on the contractor to report their own income on their tax returns so both parties can be liable for unreported income.

She's also 26 and could have spent her life on her parent's health insurance.

I think she might qualify for Medicaid - if not disability. I don’t think she’s had any regular employment in the last year, maybe ever? I figure she meets the income requirements for qualifying for expanded Medicaid. I doubt she’s gone down the road of applying for disability - yet.

Logan is young, inexperienced and fronting her own one-person business because she can’t keep a real job in the industry. Her portfolio is all student exercises, zero real client work and is just...bad. Garish colors and tacky hipster photos, just amateur hour shit that show absolutely no conceptual understanding of good design, proper layouts, copy writing or font use.

I get that she’s only in her mid-20s but her portfolio looks like she’s just fucking around in PS for shits and giggles. The fact she presents it all as being CEO of her own agency, instead of here’s my (obviously student) portfolio (and I’m eager to learn more) is a massive mistake.

There’s a reason she couldn’t wait to announce she was COO of SA on her FB and showed up on Lowtax’s doorstep in May.

She's also 26 and could have spent her life on her parent's health insurance.
this is very likely. I thought you had to be in school to remain on parents insurance but apparently if they still claim you as a dependent you can stay on till 26. Id guess that’s what happened, mom and dad probably putting the pressure on for her to get her shit together because this year that all ends.

Do 1099 people need to claim corp gifts/schwag? I know my vanilla visa cards or amazon cards I got for recognition or whatever are automatically on my w2 at a big globohomo job. I would assume 1099 people need to report and Logan should definitely report any moofwear cn;st or other stuff and be subject to tax liability. This could bring undue IRS attention to the other side, but for everything she's been through, getting ahead of the game on this would be good insurance against having to deal with fascist alphabet agencies.

Why didn't the police ask Logan if it's true that Richard had surgery scheduled the next morning? 🙄 🙄 🙄
Retard cop can't even spell distraught

The "surgery" was just an epidural from memory and he mentioned having had it (and it not having worked) a couple of days later.

Someone in the GBS thread finally bothered to do a search on the car info. I bet they'll still keep claiming Lowtac has 3 luxury cars, though.

Had this been posted? I’m assuming not since archive only had a snapshot from January.

Logan updated her LinkedIn in the last two months to being located in Kansas City, added an SA banner and a goddamned novel about SA.

Ive been trying to archive the page for an hour but archive is being wonky af, so here’s the link and quoted text.

About
I'm turning a 21-year old brand into an entertainment powerhouse. I'm the COO of SomethingAwful.com on the eOnline 2000 World Wide Web cyberspace Information Superhighway 2.0.

Perhaps you've heard of us. We have one of the oldest communities on the web.

Don't believe me? Let me ask you: ever heard of Slenderman? Do you watch Let's Plays? Have you ever said, "All your base are belong to us" (way too old of a meme but if you've been on the web since the early aughts then you're allowed)? Have you ever enjoyed Photoshop competitions like Worth1000 (which started as Photoshop Phridays)? That was us. Yes, really.

We produce comedy content and host a huge forum of creative, hilarious, brilliant weirdos. It's well-known for being one of the best-moderated communities on the web, unlike some OTHER sites. We have been the origin of innumerable memes, ideas, and sources of humor since 1999. Pretty cool considering LinkedIn hasn't even been a thing for that long. Suck it, whoever the CEO of LinkedIn is.

You probably know what a COO does. It's a blast and a half and I don't do anything else with my life. Well, sometimes I watch bad 80s movies. I really like "Computer Beach Party". Check it out.

Hit me up if you want to join forces, want to write for the front page, or have a particularly charming joke which will conjure a chuckle when I read it. I'm a bit of an idiot, though, so no jokes about string theory or math or whatever. I don't like numbers; particularly the number 9. Frankly I think we should just have the numbers 1-5 and everything after that is just 5+2 or whatever the case may be. DO NOT say that number is 7. It doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

Check out these articles about Something Awful by websites way less cool than we are:

What‘s the deal with her referring to SA having great moderation “unlike some OTHER” sites? Kind of weird since then all the article she links to about SA are only about SA finally getting rid of a board thats full of racist nazis called Fuck You and Die, after only 20 years. All the media is focusing on FYAD, I’m sure that will def attract some top notch clients.

Yeah this would be the last year Logan could be on her parents' insurance but she will definitely qualify for assistance based on income.

I'd say technically yes but if you were asking for other than a hypothetical I'd just say ask your tax guy. She may not make enough to be required to file either but that would also be a question for her for the [real] taxman.

I do know the W-9 is all a business needs for contractors and it's just a form where you put down your name, address, SSN. There's no ID checks or anything like that. You just record how much you paid each one and at the end you file for the 1099-MISC forms and report to the IRS and possibly state and local agencies. That last part usually carries a small fee so who knows if he's actually doing it. He's already got at least one tax lien.
