About
I'm turning a 21-year old brand into an entertainment powerhouse. I'm the COO of SomethingAwful.com on the eOnline 2000 World Wide Web cyberspace Information Superhighway 2.0.
Perhaps you've heard of us. We have one of the oldest communities on the web.
Don't believe me? Let me ask you: ever heard of Slenderman? Do you watch Let's Plays? Have you ever said, "All your base are belong to us" (way too old of a meme but if you've been on the web since the early aughts then you're allowed)? Have you ever enjoyed Photoshop competitions like Worth1000 (which started as Photoshop Phridays)? That was us. Yes, really.
We produce comedy content and host a huge forum of creative, hilarious, brilliant weirdos. It's well-known for being one of the best-moderated communities on the web, unlike some OTHER sites. We have been the origin of innumerable memes, ideas, and sources of humor since 1999. Pretty cool considering LinkedIn hasn't even been a thing for that long. Suck it, whoever the CEO of LinkedIn is.
You probably know what a COO does. It's a blast and a half and I don't do anything else with my life. Well, sometimes I watch bad 80s movies. I really like "Computer Beach Party". Check it out.
Hit me up if you want to join forces, want to write for the front page, or have a particularly charming joke which will conjure a chuckle when I read it. I'm a bit of an idiot, though, so no jokes about string theory or math or whatever. I don't like numbers; particularly the number 9. Frankly I think we should just have the numbers 1-5 and everything after that is just 5+2 or whatever the case may be. DO NOT say that number is 7. It doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

Current internet culture is rooted in the SomethingAwful.com forums. These are the people who made it what it was.
