“Animorphs” Movie in the Works - Can’t be any worse than the Nickelodeon show

As super “90’s era” as they are, I actually really kinda wanna go back and read them. Some of the book’s stories have really stuck with me.

The one where David actually gets taken over by a Yeerk and his friends have to abscond him to what is essentially a black site prison is definitely the stuff of nightmare fuel. its stuck with me too lol.

Wasn’t it Jake who got taken over by the Yerk and they had to keep him hidden and tied up until it starved to death in his head? David was the one who they had to trap as a rat and dump him on an island because he was going to sell them out to the Yerks and essentially fuck over the human race.

This movie is never happening. PITA won't allow it. The animal violence alone makes this too controversial for a movie.

Hopefully it gets turned into a grimdark series for one of the streaming networks. I remember reading the books growing up but was never able to finish the series. It sounds like I missed out on some good emotional scarring!

There’s a scene where one of the characters get her arm severed off while fighting as a grizzly bear and she just picks up the arm and starts using it as a weapon and tearing out aliens’s guts.

I want to say I remember a scene where the bear gets disemboweled by a velociraptor and has to fight while holding the wound shut.
 
The moral of the series was "Beware weird centaur men who hide out at a construction site and ask you to touch their magic cube".

I mean didn't the last book end with them constantly shifting in and out of a polar bear morph because they were in some frozen planet and no way to escape it?

I know they made an action figure based on the morphs for the last book. But hasbro canceled the toy line and it became Beast Wars Mutants Icebird.

One of the Megamorph books had them get sent back in time to the dinosaurs, so maybe.

Definitely wasn’t the last book, but I do remember them having to go to the tundra at one point to stop the Yerks from bioengineering an extinct alien species, so the polar bear thing probably happened in that book.

Understatement. The dub I watched has forever shaped my mental imagery, so that whenever I read some bits and pieces of the books, I will always picture Iceman as Jake, and I will hear him, Cassie, Rachel, Marco, Ax and Visser 3 with the dub voices of Deadpool, Buttercup, Officer Jenny, Fry, Brock and Nick Fury respectively in my head because they were dubbed with the same voice actors. It doesn't help I've heard these voices everywhere during my TV-junkie childhood, so they're burned into my mind.

EDIT: Said dub pronounced Yeerks as just "jerks", so me knowing English made it fun.

You think people would have hated Cassie less had she not been the only character to get a happy ending? Because while she was never my favorite, I didn’t really hate her like a lot of fans did. But here being the only happy one pissed me off.

Mainly cause my favorites ended up removed from humanity, dead, or assimilated.

I mean, unless you mean having it as 20 episode per year type of anime, other wise it's gonna mostly still images and PowerPoint tier animations. Sure, there'll be certain episodes that will have obvious budget put into them, but that will be like 2-3 episodes out of 50.
