Well, he is correct in that there wasn't an advanced civilization on the Mississippi River that left a cultural record until Europeans showed up. The Mississippian Culture was completely extinct by the time the English landed at Jamestown and were more or less barely hanging in there by the time DeSoto encountered their post-apocalyptic remnants in the 1540's.

Really, we don't know that much about the Mississippian Culture at its peak aside from what we can find in their ruins and what elements of their culture got picked up by smaller or later tribes over in the Deep South and Lower Midwest when the Europeans arrived.

The other issue is that all of that waste is gonna impact the oceans for Korea and Japan. This isn't even accounting for all of those nuclear plants that are gonna get wiped out by this. As you check this, keep an eye on not only TGD level but inflows and outflows. As long as in > out the reservoir will continue to rise. Also watch the Hankou location. This is the monitoring station at Wuhan, located downstream of TGD. That monitoring station recorded 28.36m yesterday. Today it's 28.51m. Historic high is 29.73m. I believe the riverside embankment in Wuhan is around 32ish? Idk but once water overtops that embankment, several stories will be flooded as mean elevation in Wuhan is 21-27m.

Looks like they update every hour.

Must've opened another floodgate with that increased outflow rate, but we'll see if it gets worse or not.

No fucking clue. I was just guessing given the 2000 m³/s increase from @Gender of peace's post and mine. Just to continue guessing, there's more floodgates along the dam, but they're only opening some many as to minimize downstream flooding/damage. As for the opening along the middle, it's more than likely to concentrate flow into the river without it going off to the side.

Yeah my thoughts as well. That amount of volume 24/7 can't be good for the structural integrity of the dam or its components.
