Even people who aren't too fond of Trump have seen the news about what's going on in Seattle and Portland and feel those people should be treated as domestic terrorists. Apart from the people that already supported their actions, these "protestors" haven't garnered that much additional support from outside their echo chamber; one might even argue their insurgency has started to sour the independent and swing voters they'd need for support outside their immediate circle and area.
From what I read, Chief Craig was quick to state that the federal agents wouldn't be there to target Detroit's (relatively) peaceful protests as compared to those around the country. Instead, they seem focused on the high rate of gun violence that has plagued the city for years.

Maybe during that brief trend of every team trying to integrate black into their uniforms because the mid-00's were dark and edgy. But I don't think it was due to similarity (even though I also like the A's uniforms). There are worse offenders than that; Royals/Dodgers, Red Sox/Indians/Braves/Twins, Yankees/White Sox/Rockies... the list goes on.
