For what its worth I’ve actually watched a few of his videos before I really knew who he was, they aren’t terrible in my opinion. Not profound, but other than the fact he needs to slow the fuck down its mediocre commentary. I also think his constant comparison of real world politics to fictional shit (especially marvel shit) is really one of the worst parts of modern political discourse. Its why people are losing it over JK rowling. If you genuinely cannot describe why you think Trump is bad without comparing him to Voldemort you need to read a nonfiction book. Given his ignorance of history, I have no doubt that he has no clue that the Iranian Hostage Crisis made the country Public Enemy #1 in the United States until Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. Additionally, I doubt that Bob watched Under the Red Hood, which partially adapted A Death in the Family to elaborate on Jason Todd's transformation into the Red Hood. The likely answer is a condition like autism or something and an upbringing that sheltered him from human interaction and meaningful friendships. This alone is a well known recipe for lolcowdom, which Bob has zapped to the extreme by spending two decades in a basement refusing to move on from his childhood and screaming into the void on the internet. Bob has a truly astounding lack of self awareness and ability to critique his own life that makes Gabe Navarro seem well adjusted, but even he's probably realized he's spent more than half his lifespan staring at a screen in a basement and that his likelihood of surviving to see THE SUPERIOR FUTURE or have experiences that fulfill him more than ranting about movies to a tiny audience are essentially zero. A more entertaining answer would be if he literally has no self awareness at all, sincerely believes everything he says, and none of his vile nazism or angst is due to his personal life. In this scenario he's thrilled to have spent his entire life watching a screen in his basement. Downing buckets of alcohol and eating twice as much food as he should further enhances the best lifestyle one can lead before the dawning of the SUPERIOR FUTURE. In his mind he really is one of the much loathed intellectual coastal elites who's immense talents, intellect, and wide knowledge of every topic put him on the same level as great leaders and scientists. I think that delusion of smartness came directly from the movies as well. Of all the archetypes of kids presented in the movies, Bob most closely saw himself in the nerds, except for the academic prowess, as he himself said. I don't think he was really told that he was smart, he just kinda naturally assumed that he was because he identified as a nerd, and the nerds in the movies were smart. His parents never really corrected him on that assumption, because few parents really go out of their way to tell their kids that they're stupid. They tried to drag him through therapy to deal with his behaviour (probably anger issues because the world wasn't working the way he thought it would, something that continues to this day), and otherwise basically just accepted it as "him being him".
