I love it when a bunch of NEETS try to theorycraft a "more equitable" economic system and just default to "uhh, the government should pay for everything".

Also in the thread: multiple posters handwringing about how monthly checks are too far apart and people need weekly payments so they don't starve due to poor impulse control. Paternalism or projection? You be the judge.

Why does everyone think their party will be in charge forever? No matter how shit the party is, the current electoral system guarantees there will always be two, and they will swap back and forth every few years. The term limit on the Presidency makes that even more certain because even Democrats didn't want another FDR basically ending up President-for-life.

Dems are trying to use demographic replacement and interracial tension to make sure progressives are in power eternally. There might be 2 flavors, but if they're both wacky batshit people it doesn't really matter. These people look at that and say: "You won't get another chance after Trump."

While I completely agree with your factual assessment, my emotional reaction is almost 180 from yours. I feel sorry for these people, and almost want to give them what they're asking for just so they can see how awful it is, and grow out of it.

Our culture has failed these people; what you're looking at is the inevitable end of three generations of infantilization. The Boomers were non-functional but at least were raised by functional parents; the Millennials were raised by Boomers who were never taught how to live AND never taught how to teach their kids how to live. And these guys actually aren't dumb; they're smart enough to notice something is fucked up, but too emotionally damaged and socially stunted to even get a vague clue about what. So they double down on their parents' "down with the system!" rhetoric because it's the only thing that they were raised to respect.
